Flip through the chapter. Look to see what’s on each page - don’t read it yet, just look at the graphs/pictures.
Go to the end of the chapter. Did they give you any practice questions or quizzes? If so, read them before you read the chapter so you know what you’re looking for. These are the most important topics.
Read the bold print. The information in the bold print (titles, subtitles, key terms) are what the author thought was important. They put it in bold! It also helps to see how they’ve broken down the information for you.
Read the first and last sentence of every paragraph. The first sentence of a paragraph is an overview of what the paragraph explains. Usually, the last sentence is designed to help you summarize the information. This gives you a quick overview of the chapter, section by section. (Remember: at this point, you’re not reading for comprehension, you’re reading to get a roadmap and determine the main points. It’s okay if you don’t understand yet!)
Read the chapter, and take notes. Now that you have a good idea of what the main ideas are, you can go through and take notes.
Why does this work? “Repetition is the mother of learning.” Using this technique, you’re getting repeated exposure to the material and the topics that are most important. This method is slower than reading the chapter like a book, but is much more effective. Watch a video on this technique.
Different locations for the same study session! Since my classes are in the middle of the day I have to plan carefully when I’m going to revise or do hw🎒 These past ten weeks have definitively helped my organization skills! °♡°

It’s midtermmmmm season. Also known as I’d rather be doing anything else season. Good luck!
I’m working on a summer tbr right now, can you guys help me out with some recommendations?
you go bitch. you write those notes, you make them pretty if you want them to be pretty. you make them messy if you like it like that. you eat healthy. you take care of yourself. you get yourself a bullet journal. you organize that shit like it’s no problem. you get those grades. you get that amazing GPA. the world is yours to take. raise your head and take it. live the fucking life. you mcfreaking go.
hey guys, here are some pictures of today’s morning study session. this year (for my degree in chinese studies) we haven’t done much written chinese, we focused ourselves more on chinese history, literature, oral and classic chinese, that’s why I’ve decided to study it on my own during my holidays! I’m planning to study 2 lessons every day (text, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing and listening). so far, I’m doing an amazing job, I learnt 85 words today! I’m now going to read a chinese contemporary mini-story using my book “graded chinese reader 500 words” ☕ have a nice productive day!

the les mis fandom fading into relative obscurity during most of the year but never failing to trend on june 5th is like…iconic
My last week of freshman year was hectic, so say the least… still can’t believe I’ve done an entire year’s worth of college. This wasn’t what my original plan was, but sometimes plans change, and your path changes, and your entire future changes, and sometimes thats okay. I don’t think everything happens for a reason, but I do think that some things just might. So looking forward to what’s to come next!
