I know there are so many people out there who inspire and change the world; people who seem so talented and special; people who are doing something truly meaningful - people you compare yourself to, which can be so intimidating. None of this means that you are any less important or any less worthy. You do not have to change the world or do big things in order to have a right to exist. You have every right to be here, my love. The world needs people like you. Because even though you might not be living the life of the people you look up to, you still have the ability to change someone else's life in the smallest ways - with your smile, your support or your love. I hope one day you will see that there is so much power in the ordinary.

I cannot overstate the power of rewarding urself enough. you have the power to make any negative experience u made a little bit better by applauding yourself for making it thru it. you dont have to make it worse for yourself by berating yourself or pointing out how this proves all of ur flaws r the worst ever. u literally get to do that. u get to speak positively to yourself. you get to decide what nices things u do for yourself. you dont have to feel this tense even after the uncomfortable situation is over. you made it thru that. you did that. you get to be proud.

Being positive isn't about forcing yourself to never feel "negative" emotions or think "negative" things. Thought crime doesn't exist; don't be the judge, jury, and executioner for a crime that doesn't exist.

Being positive simply means that in a terrible situation, you are able to be realistic about things that being you comfort, solace, or reassurance that this, too, shall pass.

Positivity is a skill you learn and hone. It is like a knife - you can sharpen it and use it for good, but it can also bring you pain if you don't use it right. This is what toxic positivity refers to - essentially using positivity in order to bring more pain and needless suffering. You don't have to be positive about everything, but the things that do make you positive should bring you peace, security, or comfort. That is the type of positivity that can keep your heart warm even when the world around you has frozen over.
