Que esto no se vuelva tan ‘personal’

Hace años que no escribo, creo que últimamente no tenia  mucho por contar.   Mi vida actual se basa en una maldita y caótica rutina (como la que vive el noventa por ciento de la población, trabajo para solventar mis estudios. Y la facultad... D I O S!!!!! es un P U T O melodrama).   Actualmente estoy residiendo en una provincia que siempre odié, perdón mejor me corrijo odio a la gente que habita aquí. Pero bueno, espero que dentro de poco pueda recibirme e irme lejos (bien lejos, hace tiempo que vivo ‘solo en el presente’, y creo que eso lentamente me esta matando. Según mi psiquiatra soy una obsesiva, maníaca, manipuladora y tengo una gran probabilidad de caer en vicios drogas/alcohol y todo el cocktail que puedas imaginarte. De hecho a modo de ejemplo, recuerdo que hace menos de un año para esta altura yo estaba ‘resucitando’. Si! aunque no lo pueda creer estuve ‘muerta por 25 minutos’. Y así de intensa y vacía es mi vida...    no quiero seguir escribiendo, esto es como desnudarse en la calle mas transitada (a plena luz del día). Pero prometo seguir haciéndolo (y no abandonar tanto mi tumblr. Gracias al apoyo incondicional de mis amigos (que son pocos), y a los otros transeúntes que me dejan un poquito de su luz (y que a su manera me van ‘empapando’ de experiencias) Con amor,

Titus Kaphar

For his current exhibition at Jack Shainman Gallery, Kaphar presents a painting show titled “Drawing the Blinds,” along with an extension of his 2011 Jerome Project titled “Asphalt and Chalk.” The former maintain’s Kaphar’s practice of bringing history into the present, and traditional artwork into the contemporary conversation.

Many of the works allude to the historical absence of African Americans and women from the verbal and visual canons. In “Behind the Myth of Benevolence” a portrait of a silver-haired man is peeled back like a fallen drape, revealing behind it a nude depiction of a black woman, gazing at the viewer. In “Stripes,” a similarly stuffy portrait of a white man is cut into strips, many of which are nailed to the surrounding wall, exposing the wooden frame beneath. The image is both mischievous and violent, a ghostly hoax and a work of sadism.
