angeline:
“I don’t expect you to.” Amara was good at many things, but she wasn’t good with those who grieved. “They were only good for their money and technology.” Some members of IAAC wanted to completely get rid of Supers but there were others who wanted the means to control them. Angeline was once a part of the latter. “Hyrian contains children. You’re being redundant.” She narrowed her eyes at the hybrid. She didn’t want to overreact but it would be a lie if she said that she didn’t feel panicked at the idea of Apollyon agents at her home. Did Amara already try to take them or was she just toying with her? “They’re doing fine. If anything happens to my children, however, something might happen to yours.” She and her husband kept their darker hobbies away from the kids. They didn’t want to influence them in a way that made the kids feel like they didn’t have a choice. “Hosts for what. And even if you got your hands on my sister’s children, they’d break themselves free. They have a habit of doing that.”
Amara hummed and listened. They’ve entered a whole new other topic branching off her original intention of their encounter. “Redundant? I thought I was being specific. I want children, not teenagers.” This was definitely a touchy subject. Angeline’s demeanour was enough for the hybrid to read. “Is that a threat Ms. Vale?” she rhetorically asked as her eyes flashed a lighter shade. She’ll be glad to break ties if needed to benefit her own. “Don’t assume Angeline or it will cost you.” It may have came off vague, but she and Amara both knew the specifics of her tone. “It’s an overall idea. They’ll be hosts to do our biddings and bring forth catastrophe. It’s all about timing hun, you can’t have them do everything at once since everyone will know a larger organization orchestrated it. However, if you drop the ball one by one, it’d be a beautiful domino effect...Wouldn’t you agree?”
ava:
“They were nearly successful so they deserve to die for that. Mortals should know their place.” Ava never understood why her father worked so hard to bring light to the mortals. She didn’t believe that any of them deserved knowledge. What her father did was make them more unruly, but then again, if they remained unknowing then someone like Amara would have never come to exist. “Only one Horseman can exist at a time… we’ll see what happens as I regain my strength. We might be able to see something new come along.”
Ava chuckled at her. At the very least they could enjoy each other even if it didn’t lead to anything. They were immortals so time could change anything for them. “Exactly what I was thinking. Oh, they’re playing into your hand, but you don’t save all…” She didn’t know about everything that Apollyon did behind closed doors, but she heard rumors. “They’ll do anything for their god and maybe I’ll pick up a few runners.” She got up from where she was seated and fixed herself further for their outing. “Amara, if you really are hungry, please get it over with before we leave. I’d like it better if you and I were presentable. I’ll be waiting in the car.”
She hoped that she would run into some children blessed with divinity at Hyrian. What she needed now was to rebuild her energy to make herself more appetizing for Famine again. When Amara was ready, she instructed the driver to bring them to the home. Immediately, its director came out to greet them. “They were expecting us.”
"I see you have plans of your own.” pointed out Amara. No shade there, they were both women in power who had their own agenda. It was a mutual agreement that they wouldn’t interfere with each other’s plans and businesses. However, should this change, the Director wouldn’t hesitate to defend what’s rightfully hers. “I look forward to it though. It’s about time for some change around here.”
The hybrid rolled her eyes and held her hands up innocently, “Touché, I’m well fed darling.” She then thought of the children of Hyrian’s Home and smiled. They were certainly a special bunch. Damaged goods were the easiest to tame if you choose right. "Who knows what the day will bring. Should it be a disappointment, then I don’t mind taking out my stress with the resources we have out in the open.” The Home can rebuild itself. If anything their Director can have the same faith as Altimira’s should it be a disappointment.
Once they were at their destination, Amara stepped out of the car with a stoic expression. “Apparently so.” A child must have warned them of their arrival. This was supposed to be an unannounced arrival. “If you were aware of our presence, then the least you could do is provide us with a welcome party.” The Director didn’t look pleased to see both women here, probably due to the fact that those who are housed in the Home would take interest in their arrival. “If there’s nothing to further discuss, then let us pass.”
angeline:
She wondered if her sister’s relationship with Lilith was by chance or if it was orchestrated. Angeline felt like someone had counted on Lilith developing a relationship with Aurelia and then becoming the mother of Death. “Very special.” She nodded in agreement and looked at their surroundings. “It’s a good thing that I don’t expect you to be good at comforting anyone. I’d be disappointed.” She turned to look at Amara. “We need to start anew. I no longer have my contacts at IAAC, and a Wraith has been hunting former Vale associates. I have plenty to use in the prison, however. They’re quite pliable.” After receiving her abilities back, she went to work and decided to make her patients more compliant. They had powers that she could use in this hostile take over. “We can start anew.”
“I adore you Angie, but not to the point where I’d console you.” That was only for her grandchildren and even then her method of consoling wasn’t conventional to say the least. “IAAC won’t ever exceed what it is now.” This was fact seeing as powered beings still existed to the point where they still stood strong against those who wanted them gone. “I concur, we start anew. Ava and I visited Hyrian’s Home...There is potential there, but...” It wasn’t enough. To take the Society on a grandeur scale, they needed to outsource more powered beings of all walks of life. “...Now that I think about it. They say children are the future.” A twisted smile graced her lips as the hybrid took a step closer to Angeline, “How are your children by the way? And your niece and nephew?” She knew she’ll be striking a nerve with this new Famine, but ideas should be welcomed. “Reap what you sow. What if the Society provides opportunity through growth? What I’m getting at is that no one suspects children. They’d be the perfect hosts.”
sawyer:
Head patting was a little weird, but she let it slide because Amara was so old. “I can’t tell if you’re being serious. Mámi became an immortal because she, quote, was tricked by you, end quote.” Sawyer leaned against the counter as she mixed the left overs in her bowl. She chuckled. Sometimes, she forgot just how different Amara was in comparison to others, but all her oddities made moments like these even better. Not everyone got to say that the Director of Apollyon was this sweet. “I guess that’s better than other nick names.” She smiled at her and then tapped the stone, embed in her chest. “For the record, it wasn’t my fault, but now I’m a walking and talking, stolen weapon from Heaven, so I can’t really complain.”
“Why are feelings so hard? Grandma, why is it so hard for people to just say what they mean? You and Mámi never had an issue.” Sometimes, she felt like Karina was much more blunt than Amara was, especially when it came to magic and how much Karina preferred her sister’s spell casting. Sawyer caught Nico passing the doorway; the little one had a pile of pizza on her plate. Even as a five year old, she still felt a way about her. “I don’t- Oh…” Sawyer leaned against Amara and let herself be held. “Yeah, I guess you’re right… I’ve taken breaks but I’ve never left a task unfinished.” She watched her younger self run off again. “Well, it’s good to know that you have my back even if it pisses off my mom.”
She grinned at the vampire. “I’m ready as soon as you want me. I’ve just been delivering food since the dome dropped because I didn’t want to get in people’s way.” Sawyer had a lot of money saved up from mercenary work, but she was growing tired of constantly being on. She just needed some time to rest in the lab and reconnect with her scientific side. “So…. is your secret project Atlantean related? Please tell me that you haven’t solved the dome yet!”
“Tricked!?” exclaimed Amara in an offended tone. “I saved her life. Don’t get that info twisted my child, your mother’s perception is completely skewed. Those freaks of nature messed her up completely.” It was a white lie, but with the circumstance it worked in her favour. A smile graced the hybrid’s lips as she gave a nod of approval. “Exactly, Grandma’s wrath is the last thing you’d ever want to encounter.” A mere warning, but in the most loving way possible. “Sure, sure...Whatever you say.” She simply stared as Sawyer spoke on about feelings and refrained from laughing as she knew how much her granddaughter was in a state of distress. “I’d like to think your mother and I are different than the majority.” Also, does she not know that Amara rarely considers anyone’s feelings in the first place? “Anyways, you’re too young to be stressing this much. Life’s too short Sawyer, live and let go. Of course I have your back, always and forever child. Should anyone keep us apart, I’ll tear them apart.”
Hearing that her granddaughter was ready to work for her, the hybrid began cleaning up as she was ready to head back to Apollyon to begin finding a place for Sawyer in her organization. “Ugh finally, I’ve been waiting for the day that you’re no longer a delivery girl. This is an upgrade. I believe this is the part where I say, ‘You’re welcome.’” Wiping the counter down and placing all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, Amara’s lips curled into a cunning smile as she found Sawyer’s curiosity to her projects. “If that’s what you want then I can hand you over the Atlantean division. We were behind it yes, but the dome was a mishap I was willing to push pass by. It seems like you’re interested as to why it happened. If you could figure that out, then boy do I have plans for you child.”
angeline:
Amara seemed to be in a wasteful mood today. She didn’t even bat an eye at the kill. The hybrid must have meant business. Famine’s voice tried to speak above her own energy and Angeline shoved it down at the mention of Ava. Her hatred and anger was strong enough to keep famine’s influence at bay. “Of course, it is…” Angeline sent out another psionic blast to knock the people out cold. She doubt that they’d remember the energy that kept them in place, but it was fine. She wasn’t trying to make a statement. She followed after Amara. “I don’t deal with souls.” She suspected that she was more vulnerable to her emotions because of her time in the Further and the astral plane. “Before IAAC outed me, I expected myself to join a president’s cabinet and control them. Plans have changed, however. Ten years from now, I see us being the only survivors of a catastrophe of our making.” They had to get rid of the old to bring in the new. “I have no intention of ruling an inferior species anymore.”
“No you’re not like your niece...She’s a special one.” replied Amara as she made her way to the outdoors. Taking in the fresh air, the hybrid whipped out her brand name sunglasses and slipped them on as she carried out the conversation. “Anyways, cheer up child. Your sister was a fighter until the end.” On the topic of the Society, the Director smiled as she allowed Angeline to plea her case. Once it was done, she chuckled and held an amused expression as she liked the direction this was going in. “Well put.” she complimented at first. “This means we’re on the same page. I want the Society to excel. To become a force that no one knows about, but everyone to experience. Now, is there a plan in motion that you are bringing to life or do we need to start anew?”

nova-chen:
“Call me naive, but I’d still take Ms. Reyes’ word over yours, Ms. Wolff.” Nova replied calmly, trying not to buy into her words. He was the tiniest bit more relaxed now they had seemingly had Amara confined. But all it took that lapse in concentration and Nova had found himself on the floor amongst shattered remains of an LED screen and surround sound system. The stabbing pain in his back due to the stake was nothing compared to how Amara’s words had pierced his heart. Cancer, dying children in a hospital. The memories mercilessly flashed before his eyes as he struggled to regain his footing. Mistakes, repeat themselves. Involuntarily, he started muttering “Not again, not again…” repeatedly like a mantra. The determination in his eyes was replaced by fear. And that fear made his newly reacquired magic lash out.
When Arabella had said that Nova’s power grew stronger the more he was surrounded by Nature, certainly neither of them had thought of it literally flowing through his system due to a stake stuck in his back. Empowered by the stake’s seeping magic and enraged by the traumatic fear, he slowly got to his feet, surrounded by jagged pieces of floorboard. “Don’t touch me.” With so much as an ice cold glance in the Apollyon agents’ direction, several pieces of wood hurled at them, impaling them to the wall, killing some of them instantly. His magic had never been this violent before. But he found himself not caring about the consequences. In fact, ever since he got ‘his magic’ back, he didn’t feel like himself at all. It was like he was on autopilot the whole time.
And right now, that autopilot’s navigation was still loud and clear — kill Amara. Their first plan had failed, but he had to try again. Failure wasn’t an option. “Let her go.” Nova commanded and another jagged piece of wood cut through Julienne’s hair, allowing her to drop to the ground. He continued to advance towards Amara, raising up more floorboards as makeshift stakes and imbuing them with the Original stake’s magic that now flowed through him. The smile that crept up on his face was foreign, misplaced. He was losing sight of his own self, and it didn’t even sound like his voice when he laughed and mockingly said, “Who?! Why Nature, of course,’ just before launching more than a dozen more stakes all aimed at Amara’s heart.
( @jvonr )
Without the Leviathan, Julienne was only human, so it wasn’t surprising when she couldn’t defend herself from Amara’s rush. She reached up and tried to free herself from Amara’s hold as her boss dragged her to the windows. If this woman was still standing then she had no doubt that the hybrid could break through the lockdown and toss her off easily. “Collateral damage…” She hissed. People would mourn for the losses, but if they could get rid of a great evil then it was fine, wasn’t it? If they let Amara continue for the sake of those lives, wasn’t their apathy just as bad? Julienne couldn’t break herself free and before she could do anything else, Amara was lifting her up.
With the amount of force Amara used to slam her face against the window, Julienne’s eye lids flickered as she was briefly knocked out of consciousness. She missed the question and came back to being lifted up higher. She grunted while she reached up to pull herself toward Amara’s hand to alleviate the pain. When she thought that things were looking grim, Jenova sent a wooden piece to free her from Amara. She fell to the ground and immediately reached for her head. If she survived, she’d need to check for concussions.
She slowly got up to her feet and chuckled. “Of course, I’d get stuck with two maniacs.” She leaned against a wall and accessed a secret panel to input a new code. Her home was a lost cause and at this point, she didn’t trust either of them enough. If it was her and everyone else, she would pick herself. Julienne could do more good than all of them combined. An agent headed towards her, ready to strike and just before he did she entered the code. The Cleaners and the agents immediately dropped to the floor, seizing as they did. Julienne grabbed a knife from the nearest agent and began to carve out a demonic sigil in the palm of her hand, hoping to summon some of sea beast’s power with the symbol and the sacrifices in her home.
@amcraxwclf
It was time to play the ignore game as Nova’s words meant nothing to her. She was going to have to cut ties with the diwata now that she’s been disrupting her business on the whole. The deaths of her agents by both Nova and Julienne only caused Amara’s blood to boil as she kept the sacrifices going. For each kill of her own people, someone will suffer in their place. She will make this known. The stakes being thrown at her by Nova pierced her skin and although there were plenty to her chest area, she was still standing tall as she dug them out one by one. Gritting her teeth, she was healing fast, while burning the pieces of wood that touched her. “Oh Nova, nature won’t appreciate what you’ve done.”
Seeing her agents shut down completely, Amara mentally made a note to revoke all Apollyon privileges from Julienne until the Leviathan were to return. She had enough of this fuckery and despite Julienne’s attempt to carve out whatever demonic signature she needed, the Director stopped her completely as she used her magic to have that knife aimed at the shirt of her shoulder blade as she pinned Julienne against the wall with all the rest of the knives that her agents held. She did the same thing to Nova as she stood in front of them with vexation. “We’re done here.” she declared. “Your lives are spared as I respect your handlers, but...” She tightened the grip of each knife against them to make her message clear. “If we cross paths again Mr. Chen, whether you’re the diwata’s bitch or not, I will rip your heart out. Miss Von Rothschild, you’re heading to the Pit till the Leviathan returns.”
The shift in her eyes made it known that she was casting an illusion. Her first victim was Nova as he made him suffer in a bed of nature that was being destroyed right before his eyes from factors that are known to mankind. Pollution, pesticides, the list goes on and on, and of course he was unable to do anything. As for Julienne, Amara made it seem like she was already in the Pit as she summoned more agents into her unit. “Take her away.” she instructed. “And dose her with sedatives and weakening juices, I don’t want her trying any tricky shit. As for the plant boy, let him rot in the a landfill or something, I want him out of my fucking sight.”
There were some agents tending to her, but she pushed them away and disappeared in an instant as she was in an undisclosed location owned by Apollyon. She conducted a lot of sacrifices, but she was still weak, as such the hybrid needed to recuperate away from everyone and everything. Hooking herself up into an IV, blood began seeping through her veins as she laid there in peace.
She was going to bring hell to both beings once she regained her strength.
She’ll make sure of that.
[end.]
// @nova-chen
ava:
She tilted her head down and looked up at Amara before fluttering her eyelashes at her. “But darling, I love it when we get a little twisted.” She chuckled and then shook her head before letting out an amused chuckle. Neither of them needed as much rest as the mortals did and for Ava, she built some downtime into her routine so she wouldn’t be bored while the world slept. Whatever Amara and her had, she wasn’t really sure of what to call it, but she knew that she appreciated what the other woman would do for her. Even if she was pretending to sleep, the goddess thought that it was a sweet. She just needed to make sure not to fall for her. Amara was a dangerous woman to fall in love with.
Ava lowered her feet and turned her body to properly face the screen. She sensed the hybrid appearing behind her. “They haven’t even started reporting on my projects yet. You’ll have fun with Angeline, but stay away from Lilith. I think I tipped her too far.” She tilted her head, granting Amara access, and then reached up to tangle her fingers in the hybrid’s hair as she lead her to her favorite spots. “Ohhh….” She sighed. “Don’t tell me that you’re hungry… I thought I fed you already.” As Amara pulled away, she turned to look over at her and let the tips of her finger trace the other woman’s jaw. “The Atlanteans could be fun, but I don’t want to play with SHOT when you’re…” Her face seemed to scrunch itself together as she searched for a proper string of words. “Not fully recuperated… But, we could do something about those Hyrian students. Whatever did you do to Hyrian anyways? Or it’s director. Your plans move people so quickly.”
“I bet you do love.” Both women were a force to be reckoned with and powerful when together. Their drive for power was intoxicating as they were capable of so much. “The bratty Antichrist can have her space. I can’t go through another assassination attempt on myself.” Julienne and Nova’s scheme was something she couldn’t get over easily. “Take the world by surprise, it’s better that way. Anyways, Angeline’s newfound title and abilities should be fun. I look forward to seeing her thrive in your place.”
Amara smirked, “I have a high metabolism babe.” Gently reaching out for her hand that traced her jaw, the hybrid places soft kisses before holding onto it and flashing the blonde a knowing look. “Good call.” she mused. “Simple, let them do the dirty work and ensure it doesn’t go straight back to you.” Humming softly, Amara pondered briefly on a thought and added, “Besides many of my best agents are from there. Although they see me in some God-like complex, it’s cause I saved them from the cruelties of the Home. Mind you, I don’t consider it deceit, but more so a simple favour.” Letting go of her hand, the Director crossed her arms and continued with, “Plus you can choose people for your projects. Think of this as a ‘beings shopping spree!’ Now shall we?”
sawyer:
“Tch.” Her grandmother had a point. If she wasn’t still sore after what happened, she would have acknowledged how right Amara was. “How are we supposed to take over the world with our family if there are only a handful of us?” She hoped that she had lots of kids and hopefully, Dean would be the father to them. “Offsprings. Is that what you called mom and us when we were small?” The ancient hybrid had such a funny way of talking sometimes, but Sawyer never really directly called her out on it. She frowned when Amara started to laugh. “Glad to know that you have so much faith in me and I won’t not willingly. Dying was weird enough as it was.” She didn’t want to have a repeat of that experience. “I don’t like playing with life forces. Being able to see how things could turn out for them… they can play all on their own.”
“So just let her do her thing?” The idea of letting Grace go on with all the destruction didn’t sit well with her. “Is that how you managed to live for so long?” Even though she spoke about not interfering with life forces, she wasn’t sure if she could ignore everything. She reached over and hugged her grandmother. “She’s my best friend though… I don’t want to lose any one that I care about.” Sawyer sighed and looked up before hearing the patter of tiny feet. Her younger self ran into the kitchen with a plate of pizza. She smiled when young Sawyer tried to hand a slice to Amara. “You figured it out…” She sighed and pulled away from Amara. “No, I don’t want a vacation. I think I need to go back to work in a lab. Mom and dad would kill me, but do you think I can jump in on one of your projects?”
Patting Sawyer’s head, Amara sighed, the kind that meant she had a lot to learn. “You all become immortals silly! Your mother, father and I are already leading the pack, you and your sister and whatever offspring should follow suit.” Arching a brow at her inquiry, the hybrid remained confused and replied with, “What else am I supposed to call you?” She then kissed her teeth at Sawyer’s response, “I’m your grandmother, I expect nothing, but the best for you and your sister. At least, you learned your lesson.”
Amara nodded, “Yeah. She’s blowing out steam Sawyer, clearly she’s expressing herself.” Pausing briefly, the hybrid thought about her own legacy, which caused her to ask the same thing. “Huh, I never thought about it to be honest. I assumed I lived too long because...Well I’m the best.” Sighing softly, she wrapped her arms around Sawyer and allowed her to what she considers as whining. “You won’t.” reassured Amara. “She’s a Vale-Young, that in itself should be self explanatory.” While she pulled away, she tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear and smiled. “Have faith Sawyer, your generation of rascals aren’t quitters.” Suddenly, younger Sawyer approached them and handed her a slice of pizza, “You see?” She bent down and took a bite of the slice before encouraging the child to finish the rest. “Not a quitter.” Placing both hands on her hips, Amara tilted her head and silently observed her granddaughter. “They won’t kill you unless I get to them first.” A dark and ominous joke, but the hybrid still laughed and proceeded to clap her hands approvingly at her request. “I would love to have your knowledge and expertise in the lab! How about this, you come to Apollyon when you’re ready and I’ll have you lead a top secret project of mine?”
angeline:
She didn’t think that Amara would immediately jump into personal questions, especially out in the open. The mutant didn’t feel like having an audience today so Angeline waved her hand. Then people froze in place, overwhelmed by an oppressive force of psionic energy. She pulled her hands from her new prisoner. “You can have him if you want. His mind is clear enough to be manipulated.” She could tear memories from people before, but she wasn’t nearly as precise as she was now. “I’m doing well and for what, Amara? I’ve lost quite a lot…” She looked up at the hybrid. “It has been a while… Atlantis was a bust.”
Seeing Angie freeze everyone in place, the hybrid held an intrigued look, before glancing down at the prisoner. “I didn’t come here for him.” With a flick of her wrist, the prisoner’s neck snapped on its own as his body went limp. “It’s you that I’m looking for. Congratulations on the upgrade darling. Ava certainly did one on you.” Amara chuckled softly, the eldest Vale was no longer emotional as she was before. “Yeah, but the loss of family isn’t that easy to get over now is it? I wonder how Aurelia is doing...Where ever her soul is.” She then urges Angeline to follow her out as she no longer found use in being here. “Anyways, let’s discuss: The Society. Where do you see our organization 10 years from now?”
angeline:
What was interesting about the boost Famine gave her is that its abilities didn’t present itself in a traditional way. Famine could spoil lands and keep food from people. She remembered Ava preyed upon the desires of people, amplifying their need for things, but she wasn’t like that. Angeline got up from her seat to place her hand on an escaped convict’s head. She sifted through his memories and then destroyed what she deemed was the most important one. Altering the amount of desire was one way to go, but maybe what she needed to do, in order to control troublemakers, was to carve away their darkness. She couldn’t bring light into their lives, but she could tear away the darkness.
The man started to scream.
Police officers raised their weapons, but Angeline held her hands up at them. “Please stand down.” She looked over at the crowd. “Everything should be fine.” She heard a new mental voice enter the area; her telepathic abilities went into overdrive. She looked up at the newcomer. “You’re a little late. All is well.”
Amara knew of Ava’s plans, but she hadn’t seen it come to life in its full effect. Upon arriving at the scene of...well the show, the hybrid smirked at her ex-employee and nodded. “I could hear the screams even before I set foot into the vicinity. It was in that moment where I knew I was too late.” Walking up to Angeline, the Director stood tall as she observed the slumped man. “Interesting and you didn’t even make a mess.” Now her attention was on Angeline, she asked, “How is it going so far? I haven’t seen you in like ages. This is super late, but I’m truly sorry for your loss by the way.”
karina:
She wasn’t sure if Amara was joking, but she hoped that she was. Karina felt like the people who were truly unaffected by demonic presences, as dark as the ones in front of them, were monsters in their own ways. In another time, Karina wouldn’t have minded being called one, but she didn’t want her girls to believe in the title. It would break her heart if Sawyer or Nico looked at her with fear. “I will continue to resist.”
Karina watched as Amara stepped into the warded area. She would have been concerned for her mothers safety, but she was confident in the original hybrid’s abilities. The host seemed to be foaming at the mouth with curses and because of how distracting her outward appearance was, Karina tuned out what she was saying. Her mind wandered for a moment as she thought of what kind of food she would bring home to the girls today and if Gray wanted to try something new. She snapped back to the situation when Amara started to explain some more protocol.
The witch didn’t flinch when the older woman revealed the Odavia karambits and continued on to eliminate the demonic hosts. If she was wearing the Inner Sanctum’s colours, she would have bowed her head and then admonish the use of force, but in Apollyon, she wasn’t restricted to caring about certain policies. The oppressive aura seemed to clear as the scream faded away into nothingness and Karina sharply turned to approach Amara. “Excuse me? How should I know whether I shouldn’t be concerned or not if you’ve never told me about anything regarding your past? I have an extensive file on record at Apollyon. Nearly all of my supposed superiors here know about my background, including you, so…” She extended her arms and then dropped them to her side, exasperatedly. “Forget it. I’m going for a spa day.”
The hybrid gave her daughter a look. There was a lot to read into it, but what Karina needed to take out of it was that Amara’s past was left for the...well past. “It’s cause you never dared to ask.” Oh she had asked, but she wasn’t asking the specifics. “I stand by what I said, I hate talking about what’s done. However, you’re my daughter, as such the exception speaks for itself.” Walking past her, she waved her off to do as she please. “Good you need it and deserve. You’re tense and it seems like your husband isn’t satisfying you.” With that being said, the hybrid disappeared off into the elevators and decided to take her leave as she needed a break from all the fuckery that occurred in the pit.
[end.]
sawyer:
“She’ll get over it.” Sawyer didn’t hate herself, but it was fun to tease her younger self. Besides, by now, her smaller version would have figured out how to use the pizza protocol on Happy. Pizza was so much better than mac and cheese, but when she was down, she did need some comfort food from her grandmother. “Dean’s a Daniels, that’s what he says anyways, but he’s a good man.” She chuckled. “As if I’d let my kids struggle that hard at life… I’m going to be good at that parenting thing. I can already feel it in my bones.” Sawyer leaned against the counter and began a breathing exercise. “Grandma, my best friend is Death. How do I kick Death’s ass?”
“I didn’t get much magic training in fighting a whole Death entity. I learned a little from mom-mom and Mickey, but… I’m not strong enough when it comes to confronting Grace…” She frowned. “She told me that I was supposed to stop her if things got really bad, but I don’t even know how to do that.” Sawyer was disappointed with Grace, but she was even more upset by the fact that she didn’t feel like she could do anything for her friend. “Am I a bad friend?”
“Just like how you’ll get over your little scuffle with your BFF?” Touché for the hybrid to go straight for that point, but she wasn’t the type to be mindful of anyone’s emotions for that matter. “Sure he is...” And she left it at that. It was actually nice to see her granddaughter happy. In fact, it made her think at one point about her daughters getting married like she did, but Amara buried the thought as it was pointless to dwell on what’s dead. “With myself and your mother raising you...I’m sure you’ll be a fantastic parent to your offsprings.” A laugh soon escapes the Director’s lips and it was the kind that made it seem like Sawyer said a pretty hilarious joke. “Oh my child...It’s simple, you die.” Wiping away a fake tear, she then straighten her gaze onto her granddaughter and shook her head to disapprove the idea. “Which won’t happen, not when I’m still living. Don’t tamper with your life force.” Her warning may have came out lighthearted, but the hybrid was serious.
“Don’t stop her.” advised Amara. “She’s Lilith’s child. She’s being a brat. Give her time to hash out her issues and she’ll get over with.” In truth, the Director of Apollyon enjoys feeding off the chaos caused by the tiny Horseman. “Aw baby...No of course not.” Appearing beside her, Amara turned Sawyer around to face her and gently cupped her face as she lovingly reassured her by saying, “You’ve done all you can. So don’t ever think you’re bad at something. You’re much more than that Sawyer, give yourself some credit for fuck sakes. If anything she’s the shitty friend for burdening you with all these divinity shenanigans. You should take time away from here. Do you want a plane ticket elsewhere? Give yourself a break from the time jumping and have a real vacation?”
ava:
Ava pushed herself up from the bed and stretched out her arms and back. She was still sore from the fight she had with the Antichrist. It didn’t go exactly to her plan, but the plan was to lose and she needed to be convincing. If she was going to kick Lilith into who she was supposed to be, Ava needed to show some kind of humility in defeat, even if it wasn’t genuine. She hummed and then looked over at Amara, who seemed to be asleep. The goddess rolled her eyes and leaned down to kiss her. Softly, at first, before she pulled away and then properly situated herself on top of the hybrid. “Hey, I’m bored.” She whispered gently before reaching down to lightly tap Amara’s cheek. “So wake up.”
She swung her leg over Amara to get out of bed and find a few articles of clothing. Once she was suitably dressed, she found the couch to make herself comfortable on. “I don’t remember vampiric anythings staying in bed this long… Could it be that you’ve finally met your match?” She mused as she found the TV remote and turned on the TV. She jumped through the channels until she found a breaking news segment. Unlucky weather events and improbable accidents were happening all throughout Ceres. They were connecting these tragedies to the blight of Grace’s aura. “I used up so much energy to get shit started and now I have to pretend that I’m weak. Amara, sugar, please tell me you have something interesting that we can do.” @amcraxwclf
Vampires didn’t really sleep and even though Amara was a hybrid, the beating she took weeks ago took a toll on her stamina and endurance than usual. Although it wasn’t obvious, the Director felt it overtime and that meant she was still healing and recuperating from the loss of life. It wasn’t really sleep, as Amara called it resting. Therefore, when she felt Ava leaned in for a kiss before settling herself on top of her, the hybrids brown hues were wide open as she a playful smirk graced her lips. “I’ve been up.” she murmured as she watched her get out of bed. “Ah love...Now don’t get it twisted.” With a deep breath, Amara too got up and began slipping on her dress, before fitting into her heels and taking one last look in the mirror to double check that she was presentable.
Appearing behind the couch, the hybrid took in the breaking news and smiled. It seems like the death of Altimira’s Director took a toll on those involved with her. Chaos was thriving at this time and it meant all the more reason for two of these women to amplify it even more. Wrapping her arms around Ava’s waist, the hybrid trailed kisses from the side of her face and down the Horsemen’s neck, as she nibbled lightly onto her skin. With a low hum, she pondered on a response, before finally pulling away, “Atlantis. It’s still there. Might as well finish what we I started. They have more artifacts lying around, plus we can fuck around with the Atlanteans roaming there...Or...” She turned her around, so that they were both facing each other and suggested, “Hyrian Home, the counterpart of Altimira Academy. With their Director gone, what if we give Hyrian’s students a new home?” Shrugging, the vampire took a step back and twirled her hair as she continued on, “The possibilities are endless now that your sister unleashed her grief. You must be hungry though...Perhaps a trip to the financial district should suffice? Your call love.”
It’s been a rough couple of weeks. However, that didn’t stop Amara from conducting business as usual. Now she was having some me-time, going between hard liquor to the most expensive bottle of wine that she could order to pass the time. People watching was one thing, but food picking was another as she was surveilling who could be her next meal. It wasn’t until she picked up on a familiar scent that Amara averted her gaze onto the Vera Elwyn.
“Shouldn’t you be pumping milk for your babies or something?” Downing her whiskey in one go, she slid the glass and signaled the bartender for another, before facing Vera completely. “You look good though...for someone who popped twins. Anyways, missed me?” She then leaned in and gave a playful wink, “It’s your lucky day today, cause I’m all yours.” There was no use in talking about Inner Sanctum as she was no longer at her level. Besides, work was the last thing she wanted on her mind after what she’d gone through. The thought of her attempted assassination made her blood boil as she roughly took the glass from the bartender. “If you walk away, then that’s when I know you’ve hit a total rock bottom Elwyn. Tch, and people say I’m a grandma.”

At Julienne’s glance towards himself, he nodded to play along. “Yes, I’ve seen the capabilities of Apollyon’s technology, and I think the potential is there to do something great.” Terrible, yes, but not even Nova could deny they were great things. “…But I do believe nothing quite beats old fashioned magic, wouldn’t you agree, Ms. Wolff?” At this, he willed the vervain seeds he had planted earlier in the estate’s plumbing to germinate and trigger the sprinkler system, showering them all in fresh, cold vervain ‘tea.’
Taking advantage of the momentary distraction, he also sprouted the few remaining vervain seeds he had kept hidden in his balled fists. The flowers’ normally harmless, delicate spikes on which the vervain actually bloomed became sharp as deadly spears under Nova’s influence. Without hesitation, he directed the flowers to pierce and bound Amara’s hands and feet to the wooden floorboards he had also risen from the floor behind her. This anchored her where she stood like some perverse crucifixion.
Nova kept his gaze steady on Amara as the flowers impaled her; being referred to as a ‘servant’ didn’t affect him as it normally would’ve. There was much more at stake here than his feelings — as Arabella had put it, ‘the big picture.’ “As you may know, Ms. Wolff, my only true allegiance is to Nature and preserving the Balance, as it always has been and will be. The small alliances I forge, bridges I burn along the way, the lives that I save, and the deaths that I cause are just the unavoidable consequences of my actions.” He had said his piece. He then looked to Julienne with a sense of urgency. He knew the vervain wouldn’t keep her pegged down for long. This was now or never.

“Your assistant.” Julienne responded without hesitation. “On May 16th, she submitted a proposal that she typed up wrong in this subsection. The numbers were inverted leading to critical failures within the department. Of course, we can also put the blame on the people who inputted the data. It depends on how far we want to go down the grape vine.” She didn’t care about these people anymore. Right now, she was more concerned about getting rid of a massive thorn in her side.
“It isn’t that surprising, Amara,” she said in response to Nova’s presence, “We can thank him for his work with getting rid of that ranger team.” She was spinning the situation and of course, Amara switched the conversation back to the system. “This is correct. And I used my mother’s resource. She owned a security firm and a private military. At one point, I was overseeing bunker development. We do test runs on a smaller scale to make sure they’re perfect before we implement them on a grander stage.”
Then the sprinkler system started and within moments, the inside of her condo was drenched in vervain tea. She moved quickly as soon as Nova brought up flowers to impale the original. The water sloshed underneath her feet as she moved over to Amara and pulled the stake from the its hiding spot. Julienne raised her arm and then brought the weapon down into Amara’s chest as hard as she could, aiming for her heart. She raised the stake again and then went to impale Amara again, and again, and again. Her killing intent was there, but it hadn’t left.
This was too easy.

Julienne’s explanation was legitimate, the Director will give her that. Her facts matched up and this caused Amara to sigh, the tired kind as she was fed up with incompetent employees. “We do what we always do, eliminate the cancer. Terminate the whole department, including her. It’s easy to find replacements until we perfect the staff.” She should have known this, after all she fed Leviathan with these exterminations. At this point, Amara wasn’t listening while Julienne spoke, instead thoughts were rushing through her mind as to what these two had planned. She had to expect it was coming shortly, but there was nothing she could foresee since currently, her magic could only sense the danger ahead of her. Truthfully, Amara wanted to strike first. In fact there were over a hundred of ways she could execute both beings before her. Julienne was one she wouldn’t let off easy, but Nova...Well Nova could choke and die for all she cares. He was a pawn and too easy to persuade and break. However, there was something different in how he presented himself and that could only mean that something changed in him. “We’ve already reached our full potential. We are great. Forward always, always forward no? We’re simply keep on keeping on.” However, her features faltered at Nova’s inquiry and suddenly she was showered with cold vervain tea. “-You fucking cunts!!!!” she cried out in pain as she struggled to find her balance and kept knocking against the walls and furnitures.
Next thing she knew Amara was bound to the ground and struggled against the vervain spears. “Oh for fuck sakes? Seriously? An execution? I am nothing compared to Christ himself.” she yelled out in anger. Once she was raised in a cross like position, the hybrid hissed in pain as she spat out blood at the both of them. “Heh…” she huffed out as she looked at Nova with crimson eyes. “Oh, but you’ll get the consequences…” she promised before allowing her bloodied pearly whites to show in a sinister smile. “With all that Nature talk...It looks like you’re not only this cunt’s bitch. Hate to break it to you child, but the diwata really fucked you over Mr. Chen, trust me.” However, it was like slow motion to the Director as Julienne pulled out a familiar looking stake. Her eyes widened in shock, before it turned to complete vexation as she grunted with each stab that she was receiving. It was evident that she was weakening as she lowered her head and laboured her breathing, before she made it obvious that she was no longer ‘alive’. It was the same stake that killed her Original sire after all and so she should receive the same outcome.
Right?
Suddenly, without any hesitation nor warning, Amara pushed herself off the floorboard and grabbed the piece of wood from Julienne’s hand. In one swift motion, she took it and impaled Nova in the back, before taking him by his neck and throwing him into Julienne’s expensive entertainment system. As for her Deputy Director, she grabbed her by the hair and dragged her towards the window with the intent of throwing her off of there. However, she stopped as Apollyon agents appeared before them. Cleaners, along with transporters to take them back to HQ. “You think, I’d be so easy to kill?” she rhetorically asked, crimson eyes filled with mania and anger. Despite being bloody from head to toe, Amara was slowly healing from her wounds, she was still alive despite expecting an Original to die from that. “A common mistake people do is repeat themselves. Whether it be history, orders, whatever...And what’s the outcome? Having to repeat the same nature countless times in different fashions. The way I see it, you need to come up with something better, take an original idea and make it yours. Now do the both of you seriously think you can kill me with the same methods I did? If you must know, with each attempt to kill me, in fact each stab with that fucking stake, it resulted in the loss of more souls than you can count. At this rate, you eliminated a village in some third world country, along with a few wealthy individuals from the top 1% and hey, maybe a group of dying children in a hospital. The list keeps going on and on, so as long as I am still fighting and standing on my feet.” Lifting Julienne by her hair, she slammed her face against the glass window and held her there, “Now, who initiated and thought of this plan?” she asked as she nodded over to the Apollyon agents to apprehend Nova. Repeating the same notion, she raised the Leviathan’s vessel a little higher against the glass, but the impact of her actions was more forceful as she wanted an answer right away. “WHO?!”
