Hi everybody! I'm sorry for the lack of activity for the project general, but we are soon gonna be picking back up production on B:BA, and I wanted to discuss what to expect from us within the near future. It's gonna be a bit of a text wall, so get ready.
So first things first, I wanna stress that we are not going to have ANY concrete release windows for anything until we're close to completing something. I have been taking a very "when it's done it's done" approach with the show and I wanna give my cast and crew as much freedom as possible and not rush anybody. My goal is to have SOMETHING out by the end of the year, but I can't promise anything. So with that in mind, we all appreciate your patience and hopefully we can have a good amount of side content throughout the year (smaller shorts, character reveals, comics, etc) to keep you all interested.
Y'all gotta remember this is a small unpaid fan project, so you can't expect the speed and efficiency of a professional project. We all got lives and other things we want to do, so B:BA isn't always a priority, and I want to respect that of my team.
Speaking of WHERE we've gotten so far, here's a little graph I made to show what you guys can expect for the first parts of the show!
Right now we have three major parts of the show being worked on in some capacity! Episode 1, as I've shown already, has a full completed script written by me, and two of my awesome writers @radiami and @sagebunendec! Production is still early on, there's not a lot outside of the script that's actually fully completed. Only four of the characters with speaking roles have all of their lines, and only one of the storyboards have been finished, that being by the amazing Amebaby. Again, I ask patience of all y'all. Last thing I wanna do is rush my amazing team.
The big thing I can say about the main episodes is that every episode is gonna have a special character, or group of characters, as a focal point. The pilot is an exception, that episode is going to be much shorter and moreso serve as an introduction to the city, focusing on the main and recurring characters.
I can at least reveal some of our special characters now though!
For episode 1, we're gonna have Robot Jones! Fun fact, he's the first Toondroid EVER MADE!
I can throw in the synopsis for episode 1 as well!
Elinor, Ari, Zadie, and Zeke discover the first Toondroid model ever built, named "Robot Jones," as part of the Museum of Wonders’ new ‘History of the Toondroid’ exhibit. Ari has the idea to free him from the exhibit and let him experience life in the new future, trying to keep him safe while he attempts to adjust and the kids keep him out of sight.
For episode 2, we're gonna have the popular Australian pop-rock band Cat Attack, being a quartet of characters from Kitty is Not a Cat. Why do they have that weird orangey-red aura around them? Well, can't really reveal that yet. Sorry!
I CAN reveal episode 2's synopsis though!
A famous toondroid band from Australia, Cat Attack, is coming to Burbank's big annual StuffedCon convention, and the main quartet can't be more excited to see them play live. However, things go south when four of the main band members suddenly go rogue during the show and start attacking the crowd, having their minds seemingly hijacked mid-performance, and Elinor, Ari, Zadie, and Zeke take it upon themselves to figure things out and save their idols.
Soooooooooo, yeah! That's all I got to announce! Again, can't stress enough, please be patient with us as we get things made. I'm hoping we'll get something ready by the end of the year, but no promises. Thank you all for the amazing support, and stay tuned for more updates on B:BA!!
