I finally finished the cover of the fic âSize Allergyâ (stupid art block) đâ¤ď¸đđ§Ą
(Click on the image for better quality)
Summary: After a day of camping in the Mystic Forest; Leo, Donnie and Mikey end up with incorrect sizes due to a mystic allergy and must wait a few days for the effect to wear off. Raphael and the whole family do their best to take care of the boys, while they have to try to get used to this bizarre situation.
This will serve from now on (unless I come up with a better idea) to be the post master of all things related to this AU...
âWait, did you say AU?â Precisely, after the story of this fic there will be changes in the future of the boys, based on what's going on in this story â¨
I just realized that my mind isn't in the right place to write or draw right now because I'm so stressed out.
Maybe I'll use the next few days on my blog as a sort of personal diary or commentary on the current situation in my country, since I think that might help clear my head of all this stress and anxiety...
I'd like to know what you guys think about that, thoughâI'm worried about filling my blog with outside drama...
I think some people confuse âI donât like this characterâ with âI canât stand this characterâ, or in this case, seeing people labeled as transphobic just because they donât like Jax...
Let me be clear: I donât hate Jax, but she does stir up conflicting feelings in me. On the one hand, I understand her pain and everything sheâs had to go through, but even so, I donât feel that should justify her behavior toward the rest of the group. Just because youâre depressed or have problems doesnât give you a free pass to hurt others.
Iâm not saying Jax isnât a complex characterâfor a transgender person (even in a supportive environment), the process is difficult; it goes beyond looking in the mirror and thinking youâre uglyâitâs looking in the mirror and feeling that the body you have isnât your own... Iâve never experienced that, but Iâm sure it must be terrible⌠And Jaxâs situation is the worst precisely because of thatâbecause she was in an environment that invalidated her emotions and this feeling that tormented her so muchâŚ
So yes, I donât deny itâI understand why she acts the way she does throughout the series.
However, as someone who has lived with a person who, when upset, would unleash a barrage of hurtful comments just because you were trying to help, I can perfectly understand why many people canât sympathize with her despite everything.
Itâs a mix of pain and helplessnessâyou know that person is hurting themselves, and despite your efforts, they just push you away, ignore you, insult you, hurt you⌠The annoyance toward someone like that isnât superficial; itâs PAINFULLY REAL
And I think itâs irresponsible to tell people âYou just donât like her because sheâs not perfectâ or âYou donât like her because youâre transphobicâ, because believe me, itâs more complex than that.
Iâm not a psychologist, and often I donât know how to help the people I love, but itâs also not good for me to wear myself out over someone who doesnât want my helpâŚ
In my case, if Jax existed, maybe I could understand her, but I donât know if I could be her friend...
I feel like if the series had continued after the movie, this dynamic between Leo and Raph is something I would have loved to see đŤđâ¤ď¸
One where they love and understand each other much more than in previous or later versions... Where Leo becomes more responsible (but without losing his spark), while Raph can relax and allow himself to tease his brothers in a friendly way (expressing his aggression in a healthy way)
They donât say it outright, but this is where they would have truly become co-leadersâbut Nickelodeon and some fans were afraid to stray from the status quo đ
Oooooh, I can feel this starting to take shape đ¤đ
I really like how the dynamics can be summed up as:
The Splinters: đĄđ¤đ¤đĄ(I hate you because you represent everything I hate about myself)
The Leos and Raphs: đđŤ¸đŤˇđ(Iâm jealous and canât believe youâre a version of me)
The Donnies and Mikeys: đđ¤đ (Youâre kind of weird, but I like youâletâs be friends)
I love how you really capture what the dynamic between both versions and their counterparts would be like... I think if both series still existed, this would be a great approach to an awesome crossover
I donât think Iâm the only one who thinks bringing these two versions together would be fantastic, simply because theyâre so different. The dynamic wouldnât just focus on how different they are as a group, but also on how different each of them is from one another and how theyâd clash because of it
I'm trying to finish a story for my AO3 account, but I'm having a hard time getting to the end (it's a one-shot, to get back into writing)... So I'll be reblogging with comments some TMNT and TADC posts that have caught my eye
Quick thought on TADC: I really liked the series. Even though I didnât become a huge fan, I admit it has some pacing issues throughout the episodes, but it feels very authentic to me⌠I feel like the creator put something very personal into it, and even though her lack of experience is evident in many aspects of the series, you can tell it was made with all her heart, and I respect that a lot.
My friend (who's studying to be a screenwriter) would probably kill me for saying this, but I think it's a good show despite its obvious flaws â¨đ
Is it just me or is the hate even more prominent this year during pride month? It makes it intimidating to be out in public right now. Smh.
With the recent unfortunate situation I'm just gonna throw out there that if you don't believe in any part of LGBT or in any way hate or discriminate... You aren't welcome here. Take a step back. Ask yourself if this is really what you want to do with your life.
We only get one life. Things are bad enough in the world right now. Don't contribute by spreading hate because someone's different than you.
To all of my lesbian, gay, trans, nonbinary, ace, pan and more friends... I love you and I see you. You have made positive impacts on the people around you, you have a place in this world, and you have a future.
I think the answer lies in the fact that recent government policies (worldwide) have fostered an environment that encourages a step backward in everything related to acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. Iâm not just talking about the U.S.âhere in Chile (where I live), we currently have a president whose policy is literally to ârestore the traditional family.â Neighboring countries are heading down similar paths...
And yes, itâs sadâitâs not as if I ever felt very accepted in the past (at least in terms of sexual orientation) by those around me, but right now thereâs a greater sense of hostility toward the LGBTQ+ community.
I wanted to reblog this to take the opportunity to mention that I, too, do not tolerate hatred toward the LGBTQ+ community and that I will never allow it in my space.
in more pleasant news: this year is seeing the biggest humpback migration in Australian history, bigger than it was PRE whaling. That's right, there are more humpbacks migrating off the coast of Australia than there were BEFORE industrial whaling started.
A huge, fat W for environmentalists and Greenies. what an achievement
ig since this is getting some amount of attention i'll also use this post to educate about the problem to the best of my ability (if anyone wants to chip in about it be my guest im certainly not the most qualified). and yes i get yall are upset about the porn bots but this isn't about bots this is about our sisters being harassed and threatened and having their accounts wrongly terminated. 2 years ago The CEO of Tumblr continuously terminated a trans woman and her alts and then continued to harass her on Twitter, threatening to call the cops if she continued to dispute the wrongful terminations of her blogs. Threatened to call A Person With A Gun to her home over an "explode him with hammers" type post. Trans women have been a continuous target for unjust termination by Tumblr's moderation staff regardless of their blog's content for years, and have failed to step in against users who harass trans women for a long ass time.
funnily enough kym has like the most complete and comprehensible coverage of the ceo's little stunt that i've found so far. link to their article
An animated like button is not enough to excuse the mountains of bullshit they put trans women through on this site.
I'm starting to put two and two togetherâthere was someone I followed whose account was suddenly blocked, even though they weren't doing anything wrong...
It really makes me angry that people in power use their influence to take away opportunities from innocent people đ
A little help (rottmnt Kaiju AU of @voidwitchboots)
A short continuation of the story I shared over a year ago đ¤
I'm really glad that @voidwitchboots finally decided to write about their AU, so this is a continuation of the gift I gave them over a year ago đ˘â¨đ
Enjoy!
Warnings: Some swear words
Itâs been a few days since Yoshi ran away with four baby turtle kaijus in his care.
He fled as far as he could, until he found an abandoned house in the middle of a field that looked as if it hadnât been tended to in years. It was the perfect hideout for him and the babies⌠His babies. It still felt strange for him to think of them that way.
With renewed energyâwhich he assumed came from his paternal instinctâhe fixed up the new home as best he could. He cleaned as much as possible with his limited resources, repurposed the abandoned furniture to build a makeshift crib for the babies, and set aside a rickety mattress for himself to rest on.
However⌠By the second day, things had already gotten complicated; the babies were hungry, and well, he had nothing to feed them. Besides, you didnât have to be a fortune-teller to know that Kaiju eat a lot more than the average baby. He panicked when he noticed that the biggest of the babies had started gnawing on the wood in a desperate attempt to fill his stomach, while the other three were starting to cry⌠What could he do?
With few options, he picked up the four babies and loaded them into the truck he had stolen. He set out on a journey through the area, looking for food to give his hungry babies. Thatâs when he came across a field of crops; there were fruit trees and some vegetablesâjudging by the variety, it appeared to be a farm owned by a company. âThis will have to doâ he thought, and quickly filled the vehicle to the brim with everything he could, using his ninja agility to avoid being discovered. In the blink of an eye, he vanished from the area before anyone noticed him.
Immediately, he fed the babies some of the softest fruits heâd managed to find, and he took the opportunity to join them and eat as well. He noticed that, despite their small fangs and appearance, the four of them behaved very much like human babies; he even had to massage their backs later to help them pass gas. âJust like real babiesâŚâ he thought to himself.
Of course, that was far from the end of his problems; over the next few days, he had to face even more challenges. Keeping the babies clean, warm, and fed was a titanic task (perhaps never has the expression been more apt). One night, he even had the scare of his life when the smallest baby seemed to stop breathing. For hours, he thought he had died, but it turned out heâd gone into a brief state of hibernation due to the cold; he later woke up and crawled over to hug Yoshi, as if nothing had happenedâas if, just seconds earlier, the man hadnât suffered a collapse because of his.
Apparently, he had to keep the babies even warmer, and⌠well, in an abandoned house, lacking any basic supplies, that was somewhat complicated; he used old cloths and his own body to keep them warm. The only thing he could be grateful for was that the babies were relatively smallâby Kaiju standards; he knew of Kaiju hatchlings that could measure 20 feets right after birth.
But for how long would they stay that small?
It was during the course of that same night that he realized he wouldnât get very far with the babies without help; someone would have to assist with their care and help him improve the precarious situation they were in.
But who?
He still wasnât willing to give in to the KFD, much less Lena or the Hamato clan⌠Suddenly, as he thought about his clan, he remembered someone⌠Someone from his past whom she knew he was still alive.
~~~~~~
A woman of Japanese descent was quietly arriving home after a productive day at work when her home phone suddenly began to ring.
âYes?â she answered, curious about the call.
âShen... Am I speaking with Tang Shen?â a male voice asked on the other end, saying the girl's full name.
âWhoâs this?â Shen asked, somewhat concerned âHow do you know that last name?â
âA clan member never forgets their comrades...â she heard a somewhat mocking imitation of a ceremonial tone âAnd we've known each other since we were kids...â
â...What?â then the stranger's tone of voice began to sound familiar to her âWait a minute... Yoshi?â
âThe same one who introduced you to show businessâ Yoshi replied cheerfully, now that heâd been recognized.
âIt really is youâŚâ she fell silent for a few seconds, processing the information âWhat the hell?! I havenât heard a thing from you in five years! Ten years if we count your disappearance from the media! And what? You just call me out of the blue as if nothing happened?! Youâd better have a good explanation!â Shen exclaimed, letting all her frustration out.
âOuch!... Iâm sorry...â He set aside his friendly tone and sighed âLook, itâs... Itâs a really long story, to be honest... And, well, Iâm not sure how safe it is to tell you everything over the phone... Is there any way we could meet in person?...â
âYoshi...â she knew that when his friend got serious, it meant something was serious âWhat the hell have you been up to?â
âLike I said, I donât think itâs safe to tell you over the phone. I can give you an address, and Iâll tell you everything thereâ
âYouâre dead serious... And why does it have to be me?â
âBecause youâre the only person I can trust right nowâ ouch! That hit her right in the heart.
Shen finally agreed to meet her old friend in a rather remote location. She could barely get any information out of him over the phone; all she knew was that he was in a secluded place because of a secret he couldnât reveal to her, and that he had been missing for so many years because he had been involved in an illegal business related to kaijus.
Even if the story sounded far-fetched, it didnât seem impossibleâat least from Shenâs point of view. She hadnât left the clan on bad terms (as Yoshi had), but her departure from Japan had put her in the crosshairs of people who wanted her to return to fighting kaijusâsomething she had always refused to do. Perhaps her friend hadnât run into such friendly people?
And so, full of doubts and prepared for whatever might happen, she met her old friend at a gas station on a remote highway. Trying to follow his instructions to be discreet, she went only on a motorcycle, carrying just the essentials for a short trip. When she arrived at the gas station and walked into the small cafe there, she ran into him; damn! He looked like heâd aged much more than just 10 yearsâhis clothes were in tatters, his hair was a mess, and he had deep dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadnât slept well in days.
âDamn⌠Yoshi, what the hell happened to you?â she thought to herself.
After a fairly short while of chatting about trivial things, Yoshi invited her to come with him to where he was living, where she could learn the whole truth. She agreed after thinking it over.
They left her motorcycle in the back of the pickup truck, and he got behind the wheel. Once they were both on the road, Yoshi finally deigned to explain the whole situation a little more clearly and everything that had happened over the years. He told her how heâd been betrayed by the person he loved, whoâd forced him to fight in a kaiju arena; how, over the years, heâd worn down and eventually accepted a scientistâs offer to, and he quoted, âimprove the future of humanityâ; and how the scientistâs experiment had gone wrong.
âOr⌠at least I think soâIâm not sureâ he continued as he drove down a dirt road.
âWhat do you mean, ânot sureâ?â the whole situation sounded too crazy. Just then, Yoshi pulled the truck over to the side of the road; a dilapidated house was visible in the distance.
âI donât know, I think he died during the process, but⌠I think he did manage to achieve something. Iâll show youâŚâ he said as he offered his hand to help him get out of the truck.
Shen hesitated again. After all, she was in the middle of nowhere with his childhood friendâwhom she hadnât seen in yearsâwho was inviting her to go together to a house that looked shabby. However, call it a sixth sense, but something made her trust Yoshi when she looked into his eyes.
They walked in silence to the entrance of the house; Shen noticed some scorched patches on the floor where there might have once been a campfireâit seemed Yoshi was living like a true homeless person. Just before opening the door, he stopped, looking hesitant.
âShen⌠I need you to promise me that you wonât get scared and that youâll keep what you see here a secret, okay?â he sighed to himself.
âI think if I were scared, I wouldâve already run away from you. What do you have in there? An assassinâs kit, perhaps?â she asked with an ironic tone, which threw Yoshi off balance.
âW-what?... What are youâ?â he only now seemed to realize how strange the whole situation looked. â...Oh, haha... Iâm sorry, but no, it has nothing to do with that... Itâs more like... something hard to believe.â
âEnough with all this mystery, Yoshi! I came all the way here with you because I trust youâ she said, placing a hand on his shoulder. âNow show me what youâve got in there!â
Yoshi, looking surprised and then letting out a small laugh, opened the door âItâs more like âwhoââ
With doubt creeping back into her mind, she stepped inside. The house looked neglected and dark, but she could still see; she followed her friend into a room that was a little brighter than the rest, and thatâs when she saw itâŚ
âYoshiâŚâ she was in shock.
In front of her was a sort of enormous makeshift crib with four creatures inside. They looked like turtle-like kaijus, but their shapes were strangeâthey seemed somewhat... human. Perhaps âanthropomorphicâ would be a better description. The four of them were sleeping, hugging each other, with several blankets covering them.
â...Theyâre my children...â Yoshi said softly.
