Performance day and reflection on performance:
I was happy with today’s performance as I feel the audience response was exactly what we wanted, however there were a few bits that I can now see looking back needed adjusting. For example, our audience were meant to stand but unfortunately because of how we start (on the ground in foetal position) we were unable to get up and tell them once they had sat. I feel this may have taken away from how active the audience felt throughout and it made it very hard to get them up for the rave scene at the end. Once everyone was up and in the rave scene it felt like a bit of a rabbit hole in the middle which I absolutely loved. The audience reacted way better than we had thought they might which made us very happy. We also struggled with vision in our masks as in the Edric we were able to have the stage much darker than we had ever had in the studio. Because of this we were slightly out of time on somethings that we have rehearsed to death and never been out of time on. This was a shame, but overall we had a positive response from our audience and enjoyed each moment of the process and performance.
