Shout Out to Our ArkValley Friends: Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort and Spa

Whether you want to envelop yourself in the warmth and peaceful relaxation of a creek side massage room, participate in rejuvenating fitness classes, or just soak up the warm water in its many tranquil pools, Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort and Spa has a little bit of something for everyone.

The “Soaking pools” reach around 105 degrees and are surrounded by a serene setting of Colorado beauty. The “Chalk Creek pools” offer 30 accessible small pools line Chalk Creek allowing for a natural feel to your relaxing soak. Due to ice and snow melt, these creek pools close each spring during run-off. The “upper pool” provides accommodations for any crowd. Enjoy a relaxing float on the lazy river, or release your inner child and slide down the 400 foot water slide, emptying into the cooler 75-degree pool on our upper deck. The upper pool is open daily from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day.

Hours are from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. As part of their “Club” package, you can participate in all different kinds of daily fitness classes, ranging from aqua cardio to kids poolside yoga. You can’t forget about their licensed massage therapists, who have a gift for making you feel comfortable and a knack for relaxing your body’s hidden tensions.  Colorado hot springs, exfoliating salt scrubs and deep tissue massage are also favorites of Mount Princeton guests. Brown's Canyon Rafting & Legislation

Browns Canyon is an outdoor recreation mecca, and one of Colorado's most treasured landscapes. It is enjoyed by whitewater boaters, hikers and anglers fishing for trout in of the the state's largest stretch of gold metal waters.

Senator Udall has spent years working to protect Browns Canyon as a national monument, and a recent poll shows that 77% of Coloradans support this effort.

This week, Udall's bill took a step closer to national monument designation. The Senate National Parks Subcommittee held a hearing on the bill, S. 1794, that would protect 22,000 acres of these wild lands between Buena Vista and Salida, including 10,000 acres that would be designated as wilderness.

Thank Senator Udall for his work to protect Browns Canyon.

The area provides abundant wildlife habitat and recreation opportunities. This spectacular outdoor playground generates more than $55 million per year in economic activity for the local economy.

"The legislation would safeguard one of Colorado’s most treasured landscapes," said Suzanne O'Neill, Colorado Wildlife Federation's executive director. No wonder that local businesses, anglers, rafters, veterans and conservationists all support Senator Udall’s effort to preserve this area as a national monument.

After working with the local community over several years, the Senator devised a bill that would preserve the land for its current uses and protect it from mining and other development that would alter the landscape.

Senator Udall worked closely with local residents and businesses to ensure that this bill would serve the needs of a variety of interests. For that reason, S. 1794 has gained broad support and momentum locally. Please send him a note of thanks.
