i love this so much because one of the biggest hurdles you have to jump over when you’re learning a new language after early childhood is that it is really really really hard/impossible to learn how to make completely new sounds because your body just physically can’t make them.
so here, rather than trying to drill the hard/plosive T sound over and over pointlessly, or drilling the way you have to slur together the sounds in “you’re” into one syllable, he’s teaching her ways to recreate or get around those sounds using sounds from her native language. genius!
OP: How is Sichuan hotpot base stir-fried? It is stir-fried by our chef and then cools and solidifies into a solid block.
