The small details: In the forearms there is one very small muscle that contracts only when lifting the pinky, otherwise it is invisible. Michelangelo’s Moses is lifting the pinky, therefore that tiny muscle is contracted - a small part of the many details of this masterpiece

This is close to how I messed up my knee fr. I was in the weightroom, doing leg extensions, and the ship took a funny roll at just the wrong time. The same thing that makes it look like he’s floating in midair? imagine that same kind of force, but the other direction.

This gorilla was born with vitiligo. She has a unique patch of pigment on her hand. In the close-up picture of the pink patch, it even looks remarkably human-like. Which is understandable, considering that gorillas have opposable thumbs. 

Interestingly, like all primates, they also have individualized fingerprints and toeprints, which sometimes may be used for identification purposes. Unlike most animals we’re used to seeing, primates have fingernails and toenails rather than claws. They are used for opening and scraping things, cleaning, and scratching. (Source)
