She laughed, that had to be good. Peter instantly felt just the slightest bit better, at her laughter of course. He was awfully nervous, regardless of the fact that he was repeating calm down over and over in his head until he felt like hexing himself to death. “Really? The like, really out there shit?” Peter put his arms behind him on the bed, half leaning back on them. “It sounds like it ought to be some nice muggle wine or something, definitely not tea. They should stick to the regular teas, eh?” A smile formed on his lips as she agreed. He couldn’t deny the occasional thought that he was some sort of alcoholic, but when others– such as Amelia– reassured him he felt much better about it all. Peter himself has declared it before, but there’s not a boy one would meet who’s more antisocial and unaware of social situations than Peter himself. He’s awfully unobservant, and he never has any clue of what’s happening. This was precisely why he didn’t really notice her slight change in demeanor, and he definitely didn’t pick up on her hints of anger. Idiot. But rather, his brain was focusing on the closeness of her hand– had she done that? Did he miss that? Or did he do that on accident? Fucking hell, he hoped it wasn’t an accident. Drawn away by her words, Pete looked up at her, surprised. “Y-you were? Why?” The words left his mouth quickly, and he regretted them instantly.
“Yeah, I mean I don’t know what the fuck I had been expecting from a tea party, but I was kind of hoping for regular tea and biscuits shit with a lot more alcohol.” She let out a little laugh as he said it sounded like a nice muggle wine. “Yeah, wine names are just as fucked up. I can’t pronounce half of them.”
Amelia’s hand was still twitching towards Peter’s and there were only two ways that she could answer his question. She could make it completely obvious how nervous she was by this whole nice situation that she had created herself or she could ignore her nerves and be honest with Peter. Most guys wouldn’t have even asked her that question or seemed so oblivious to what she was getting at and that made her think she had to take a bit more control of this situation. “Yeah,” She said simply, still contemplating how best to answer this as her hand remained still near his. The hair on that hand pricked up a little at the anticipation of maybe touching his hand. “Are you really asking that?” A light laugh that didn’t sound like her own left her after asking that. “I think hanging out with you is better than any fucking tea party.”
