Just think the battle with the core would be better if Spinel was being shown to have control over it, in a similar style to the Lusamine final boss. Seeing a weird fusion of the core and Spinel would have been awesome.

But no, he's just like an agitating thorn and not really contributing anything. Like, I really wanted a final showdown between him and the heroes. But it's just against an alien rock. By what's implied by the preview, looks like Spinel is none the wiser to what happened.
