I know I'm pretty late to the game of thrones/a song of ice and fire discourse(only just now started reading the books) and I've gotta say the more of the books I read the more I hate the TV show. They made a LOT of changes that negatively impact characterization. Like the first time Khal Drogo and Dany have sex, in the show it's something forced upon Dany. In the book, he takes her out into the grasslands and puts effort into seducing and romancing her. This is a WILDLY different characterization, depicting Khal as someone who can be gentle with others as opposed to the standard "barbarian man must take everything" kind of approach My memory is bad so I'm probably forgetting a lot of things the TV show did wrong(ontop of my general complaints that the TV show seems to have intentionally removed magic from the setting.) I'm kind of tempted to script a couple youtube videos where I talk about ASOIAF and how like, actually good the writing is. Especially Viserys, I find him fascinating to talk about
