My business turns 3 today. The time flew by. It was a scary endeavor taking it upon myself to start my own shop. The industry doesn’t encourage starting more shops, a lot of people are afraid of the competition. I was afraid of the backlash, I was afraid of failure, but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. It’s so awesome to have my own space, where I can run things the way I want to, and strive create a safe, welcoming environment for people of all walks of life. I try to take all the things I liked from the different places I’ve worked at and implement those, while learning from the things I didn’t like or I didn’t think were fair. A huge thank you to everyone who got me here, my teacher, Rio. John and Quita Eddy for hiring me and showing me how to run a shop. Issac for taking me in and always being kind to me. Shari who helped me get the place off its feet and trusted in me. Jacq who shared her carpentry skills with me when I couldn’t afford a contractor. Annie for showing me how to be patient, calm, and let good things happen. Alex and Tess for trusting in me to share my knowledge with them and for working their asses off with me. And Hannah for adding to our family and putting the ground work in to the start of a beautiful career.
