Complete surprise indeed! For one who is used to surprising others, Koishi is one surprised by the sudden contact and familiar voice. Raised by her arms and lifted off the ground, the satori raises her head to meet the detectives eyes.
"Hello Mr. Detective. It has been a looong time. I thought you would have forgotten me by now."
Usually she's the one to get the drop on him, since she usually popped in from time to time. Or there was some indication she was there prior if half a pot of coffee was gone along with his afternoon lunch.
"Been awhile, but I haven't lost my touch in knowing how to properly pick up the ladies." Or in this case little witches. "Where ya' been? Been kinda boring without you comin' to meddle."
Oh, ho. What's this now? A unsuspecting Koishi that's just up for grabs and all for the taking? Don't mind if he do~
"Hey there, doll face! Long time no see, eh?"
His latest excursion to the Dark Realm had taken considerably longer than he thought it would, chasing about a runaway ghost car who resisted all attempts to be calmed into at least negotiations to keep it from running down people. It’d lead to more than enough Zio’s to last a life time and everything in disarray due to Zan’s being launched. Thankfully enough he’d returned himself mostly unscathed, worse for wear but for once not bleeding about the floors of the building.
Yet something felt off when he’d stepped foot inside the building itself and it wasn’t the lack of injuries and exhaustion that was the case. The slow and quiet walk up the flights of stairs had only allowed this feeling to surmount. It came to a head as he entered as quietly as possible through the office door.
What lay upon the desk made him hesitate to throw off his cape and put away his own sword. His hands rested upon the sheathe, Raidou’s thumb resting upon the guard, the blade being shifted and a soft click result from it’s parting.
With wary steps he made his way about the room listening. Shuffling footsteps was what greeted his silent stalk and the young man immediately followed their source. He recognized this gait, the shuffling of a bum leg and light stride.
"Narumi."
The name is whispered quietly to himself. A relief to hear and the summoners guard fell what little bit of the sword that had been drawn returned to being fully sheathed. However that sword that he’d seen nagged at the corner of his mind, secrets. Secrets Raidou had left be seeing no right in invading Narumi’s privacy though the Devil Summoner had been open with his own.
But the way it was left, the same way a fighter may leave equipment, was the sign of exhaustion. Had his boss run out one his own? Had he tried to fight something?
Making way to the door to Narumi’s own room Riadou gave the finely polished wood one, two, three knocks, to signify his presence.
"Narumi are you alright?"
Another hand rested inside of his capelet, ready to draw forth a demon in case Narumi needed to be healed. He had the magnetite to spare, especially for someone who had done so much for him.
Tobacco slipped from the small crevices between the door hinting that there was someone inside the room. Given the detectives usual habits with the light aroma of smoke that lingered in the air, it could only be him present. That or a stray cigarette lingering in the ash tray which meant he or someone else was here. Fingers at gripped at his knee, wrinkling the fabric of his brown slacks he wore. Teeth gritted with a soft hiss toward the feeling of the foreign object that buried in his side was twisting back and forth with the help of his other hand. It took some doing, but that pressure was soon relived in his side though the pain certainly didn't waver. Shiiiiit. Brown eyes narrowed at the item in hand to see the little bugger that caused him a lot of ache trudging over here to the agency. It looked like a talon.
Talk about the thorn in your side, eh? Didn't think it laid into me that bad. Hm?
Brow lifted hearing the knock to his door and soon after being addressed. It was Raidou.
Figur'd I'd have at least a little time. Ah, well.
Time to look a little more presentable here, but first he was going to ditch this little item by tossing it into one of the drawers in his nightstand. He leaned himself up to keep his posture straight with the corner of is mouth pulling back sharply while his teeth bit down on his tongue. It felt like a hot rod was jabbed in his back and the throbbing just flowed through his muscles like the current of a river. Fingers buttoned up the fresh dress shirt he had on up to his chest before he spoke.
" 'Ey, kid you're back already. Guess that means I can't goof off a little while longer. Ya sure are all quiet like comin' in. Hardly even heard ya. Come on in, if you want. Promise I'm decent."
Der ya go chibi. :3 an opener
"Hoo boy am I bushed. These little side distractions are gonna be the death of me I swear. Gettin' way too old for this..."
Not to mention it was costing him some nice shirts too with some of these side cases he was taking on by himself. Everything couldn't be left up to the kid to take care of. Some of the cases weren't always minor. Narumi actually took on the oddball cases now and again without consenting with the younger detective for his own reasons. He forgot how out of practice he was with all of this. Not being a private eye mind you, but any fighting to be done. At least with a sword, though his skill of the hand didn't fade it was mostly with this bum leg of his slowing him down at times among other things at this age.
"Probably from all those days of inhalin' smoke. Not that it makes a lick of difference now." Just caught up with him is all though he can hear the other--well, actually the stoic expression on his face can very well read 'I told you so'. Be it from Raidou or his alternate. Boy, he just can't catch a break can he?
The kid didn't seem to be here for the moment, so Narumi decided to change into something a little less scuffed up, while leaving a noteable long item on his desk that was partially wrapped in a cloth that resembled the sheathe of a sword, actually the sword was still very residing in its home.
Immm baccck
Guess who's back? Can ya guess? Can ya?! I am here, so you can all just line up accordingly for hugs and sexins.
OOPS, posted that on the wrong account...ffttt....SHH no one saw nothing
I wouldn’t say that, but if you say so… “You can do it yourself. You’re an adult.”
As usual, Raidou is as cold as ever. You should set a better example for the boy Narumi. Looks like the booze and smokes will need to be confiscated and destroyed; not that it matters much at this point. Narumi’s gonna die of lung or liver cancer in the not too distant future. Also, while we’re at it, he can come along on Raidou’s morning rounds; the bloke needs the exercise. Lazy bum.
"So mean, kid. Gonna leave this old mule to fend for himself? You wound me so deep."
If anything Raidou is usually taking care of him rather than vice versa. Certainly the most capable person to be his guardian right? W-what? It's the the only thing keep him going. Narumi enjoy's the simple pleasures in life. Given he doesn't booze as much as he smoke, but it goes hand in hand along with toast
You know he would but....he has this bad back and all. Oh, he wouldn't want to slow you down Raidou. Kids are just so young and vibrant these days.
"In any case, it's always good to see you. How's things been lookin'?"
“Of course sir. I am very excited to see you again after we both separated last. I am glad that you are in good health.”
"Ooh, you sure bout that? I could be in awful, terrible health. Though I do make it look good, yeah? You should come and take care of your sickly boss."
We need your help Raidou. >: Honestly if he is in bad health it's probably from all that smoking and drinking.
“Ah. Well, it’s your—our, more like—Detective Agency, after all. As for the bird… oh, it’s something you and I and Raidou know very well.” The Herald of the Yatagarasu’s good with feeling these sorts of things. “I’ll trust her word on this one. But now we’re talking!” Narumi grins at the mention of a drink, a free one, at that. “I’d normally be against taking a schoolboy’s pocket money, but who am I to disregard such a generous offer from our Raidou, hmm? To the old soda joint, then?”
"Ah, that one. Hmm, well that's all we can really do, yeah?" Insightful and knowledgeable when she is. Though, he can't say the woman is all that good in his book when it's concerning the younger detective left in his care.
"Feel like he gets paid more than me nowadays, but I'll spot him back later. Sounds like a plan. Better put a hustle in your step. Tae has a habit of droppin' by unexpectedly to tag along."
A-aww…bb why? He missed you.
No, no hugs for you. Not from the jerk.
You're so cold...! I just wanted to love on you and everythin'.
</3
A-aww...bb why? He missed you.

No :|
B-but, but.... >:
“Oh, a getting a bit more energetic, aren’t we?” It could only mean two things, Narumi supposed: either he was concerned with the after-effects of the King Abaddon case, or he was out to fix his rather shocking debts. Well, either’s good, really. “That’s hunky-dory and all, as long as you get an afternoon shut-eye. Man’s work is rest, as they say. A little bird tells me there’d be peace and quiet for quite some time, anyway.”
"Wouldn't say that...some things I don't want the kid to bother with, ya dig?" A lot of the other bits of pieces he kept on the low. Usually being that he didn't want anyone or Raidou to really be concerned with. Hah....Narumi paying off debts.
"Couldn't agree with you more. A little bird, huh? Was it a pretty one? If I know from experience a bird can be a good thing or a bad thing."
"Actually in the mood for something to wet my throat. In the mood to hit the town with a handsome fella like yourself? I'm buyin' or do I mean your buyin'? Well, Raidou's buyin'. He won't mind."
