acid android 2016 #4 in ELR
And so more than three weeks have already passed since my latest trip to Japan to watch acid android live (I attended acid android #4 live on October 31 and November 1). I spent six days there and have wanted to write something about the lives as soon as I've come back home but alas, work has been very busy for me and my father has been in the hospital until yesterday hence I couldn't do it sooner. (T_T) Anyway, despite that, I feel as though I should still write something about it, because those two days are very memorable and precious for me! And well, the perfect time to post about it is of course, today!!! yukkie's birthday!!!! ♪( ´θ`)ノ
As some of my friends know, I went to Tokyo last April to attend People In The Box live, hence I didn't really expect to come again just six months later. However, when acid android announced that they will hold two consecutive concerts in Tokyo, and I saw a cheap flight to Tokyo at the same time (around half of what I booked in April), I knew I had to go despite my weeping bank account. (´・ω・`) The last time I watched acid android live was back in 2013, while the last time I saw yukkie was back in 2014 in Kokuritsu for L'Arc, so to say that I miss him so much is an understatement. ((´д`))
I arrived in Tokyo around 6AM of October 31, the day of the first live itself so I was really praying hard for my flight not to get delayed or something like that. Fortunately, no incident happened and I could arrive in Japan early and safely! o(*^▽^*)o After resting for a bit in the Airbnb apartment in Musashi-Nitta, I headed to Shibuya to experience Halloween in Tokyo. I was really impressed by all those fascinating costumes!! (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) Even though it was very crowded, I had so much fun walking around and being amused by everyone's costumes. ♡♡♡
After that I headed to Ebisu Liquid Room!! I could come to this place again after three years (the 2013 acid live I attended was also in ELR), all the memories and excitement from the last acid live I attended came back to me!!! The exhaustion I had from my midnight to early morning flight disappeared completely! (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧ As usual, it was possible for an overseas fan like me to have tickets for the lives thanks to my dear friend Pikomaru-san whom I will be forever grateful to! At first she had some prior commitments so she originally wasn't supposed to attend the lives, but android god was in our favor and in the end we could attend acid android concerts together again after three years! ヽ(´ω`○)ノ I was also very fortunate to meet another yukkie fan here in Tumblr recently, and after just few months of chatting online, we're able to meet in Tokyo for the first time and fangirl about yukkie together in flesh! She also bought acid android 2016 exhibit ticket (which I visited the next day, its last day) on my behalf, so I'm also really grateful to her! Thank you, Riku! 。゚✶ฺ.ヽ(*´∀`*)ノ.✶゚ฺ。
In ELR, I met with Riku first and talked together happily as if we've known each other for a long time, and when Pikomaru-san arrived she handed me my ticket! Supposedly my ticket was a B one (in which you can enter the hall after everyone who has A ticket has been called and allowed to enter), but Pikomaru-san exchanged her A90 ticket with my B one~~! ヽ(;▽;)ノ I was surprised but really thankful because before that, I was already prepared to watch yukkie from afar! And so when I entered the hall I still found a good spot in the middle! I guess I was in third or fourth row, just few meters away from yukkie's mic stand~! I also had a good view of Dai-chan's drum-set so it was like hitting two birds with one stone! I've just seen Dai-chan in April with People In The Box, but it has been a long time since I watched him with acid android so I was ecstatic about that aspect too! The two lovely boys I love the most would be in front of me again! \(*T▽T*)/ (By the way if it's not yet obvious, Dai-chan is Yamaguchi Daigo, acid's support drummer for 4 years now hihi~)
As the lights were turned off, as expected everyone screamed in excitement and started shouting "yukihiro!" repeatedly. Dai-chan and Kobayashi entered from the right side of the stage and my heart almost fell from my chest upon seeing short-haired Dai-chan in flesh~~~ I was able to see his cute face clearly waaaahhh soooo happy~~ (✧∇✧) Usually his face is being covered by his long bangs when he's drumming (especially for acid), but this time I was able to see his facial expressions perfectly, so blessed! ♪( ´θ`)ノ I love Dai-chan with longer hair but at that instance I was contented about this haircut~! Kobayashi was looking handsome too, with his short black hair! Although I couldn't help but miss Kent~ I still love Dai-chan+Kent combo very much! (>_<)
Anyway, upon being in position with their instruments, yukkie finally appeared on the stage and ksfkdjgldfhkfsg LONG-HAIRED ANDROID GOD WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL I ALMOST CHOKED. O(*≧ω≦)O His outfit was really princely-- white long-sleeved dress-shirt with black ribbon and black vest, then tight jeans with skirt... it could really pass as a costume for Halloween: the goth android prince of the underworld. *cries to the wind* His facial expression was also intensely serious, and it seemed as though he's not a creature from this world! (*A*) I still prefer short-haired yukkie with bangs, but his long hair now really makes him look like a beautiful androgynous creature from another universe.
So yes, as usual I'm not the type of person who can write a coherent report about the shows, and so I would just list down the things that I remembered from the live and the feelings I had during that time:
- The show kicked off with "let's dance" and I think this is the perfect song to energize the audience. Only a minute had passed and I was already banging my head and violently throwing my arm in the air
- It felt surreal seeing yukkie singing few meters away from me again, I could gaze at his beautiful face forever, seriously
- BUT!! Dai-chan was so very passionate with his drumming, my eyes had a very hard time switching from gazing at yukkie then Dai-chan then yukkie again and so on
- Kobayashi looked very cool as well, I think 50% of the time I was looking at yukkie, 45% on Dai-chan, and 5% on Kobayashi
- yukkie's facial expression was totally cool but almost unchanging... I can't explain it... it's like a combination of being sleepy and being godly. Whenever he looked at the audience, it felt as though he was judging all of us mere mortals
- I don't know how it's possible for his hair not to get messed up and for him not to perspire when Dai-chan was already sweating (yes, Dai-chan was drumming so it was easy for him to sweat... but yukkie was also "dancing" around in his long-sleeves and layered outfit but he was not sweating at all HOW)
- I've always admired how the lighting in acid android lives work. It makes yukkie look even more godly. I love it when the stage was being covered in red lights, as if we're really in android's hell
- Dai-chan's drumming in "double dare" was especially very cool, I really admire how different he appears when drumming for acid android! In PITB he would usually look around the audience and smile or nod at them with that gentle look on his face, but when in acid he appears very serious and cool guwaaahh~ He would still look at the audience for some brief moments, but he has already really acquired that android-ish aura
- Sixth song was "unsaid" and no matter how many times I hear it live (the third time for this instance), I'll always be in love with it. I just really love how yukkie sings it as he stands still on the stage like a beautiful mannequin
- Whenever a song ended, audience would shout 'yukihiro!!' and I'd be very tempted to shout 'Daigoman!' but I was too shy so I shouted it in my heart many times~ OTL
- After "unsaid", next was the first of the three still-untitled new songs to be played that night. I'm not sure if this would be my first time to hear this song live since acid also played some new songs in the 2013 live I attended, but if I'm not mistaken, the song after "unsaid" has that atmosphere wherein it felt like yukkie and his boys are welcoming you in his castle as the prince of darkness. XD I remember having goosebumps several times, especially whenever listening very intently to Dai-chan's drumming and yukkie singing slow songs...
- I paid even much more attention to Dai-chan's drumming for the new songs because I remember he said in an interview that yukkie allowed him to create by himself the drum phrases for some of the new acid songs (yukkie even praised him in one of his entries in yukihiro gyunyuu for the unique phrases that he created), and I remember myself being in awe. Thank you for lending your talent to acid android, Dai-chan!!
- Another new song played and I'm a bit confident that it's the song used in this teaser video. Both of the new songs are in Japanese, and for some reason I find yukkie sexier when he's singing in Japanese
- "swallowtail" English version would always be a delight to hear live, I think Kobayashi did a wonderful job with the guitars. If I'm not mistaken, this is the part wherein yukkie was being engulfed by blue lights, it was truly enchanting
- At some point some strands of yukkie's hair got stuck on his mouth and he had to stop singing for a few seconds to remove it and IT WAS SUCH A CUTE MOMENT ARGHasdghjk this was the only time he seemed human to me hahaha
- Whenever yukkie bent down in front of the audience while singing I'd have a very hard time seeing him because he's tiny and the audience would suddenly all move close to the front ><
- No crowd-surfing this time unlike in the 2013 live I attended because there were some huge gaps among the crowd... I'm thinking since the live was held on a Monday, not a lot of people was able to come~ T_T (That 2013 sold-out live was held on a Saturday and there was really massive crowd-surfing and some girls fainting~)
- yukkie is always the sexiest when he's singing "imagining noises"!! Even Dai-chan and Kobayashi became extra sexier! yukkie banging his head as his long hair flows around is a sight to behold
- I was delighted to hear "the end of sequence code" live!!! I'm not sure if they played it in the 2013 live I attended, but at least now I could recognize the song and dance to it! The live version is even much cooler than the studio version, as expected Dai-chan's drumming was immensely wonderful!! yukkie was just too beautiful and android-ish as he sang it~~
- When "violent parade" started playing I thought it must be the last song already and I was like "waaahhh time flies so fast!!!" BUT YUKKIE WAS YET TO BREAK A SWEAT
- But then after it ended he didn't throw the microphone and instead, a slow rhythm started playing, and I think it's the song used here, it has the atmosphere of being lulled in yukkie's electric heaven...
- And then after this new song yukkie left the stage followed by Dai-chan and Kobayashi!! Σ(゜ロ゜;) The song was so calm so when it ended and they left the stage without a word I had this feeling of "eeehhhh!?! Finished already?!" It really seemed like the audience was hypnotized and before we knew it, the show has ended already~! (;゜Д゜)
- As usual no MC and no encore so when they left the stage it's really the end. (@_@) Since acid fans are used to this, we just clapped for a few minutes then were asked by the staff to start leaving the hall~ ^^;
So yes, first day of acid in ELR left me mesmerized and excited right away for the second live the next day~! (❁´▽`❁) Day 2 live went almost the same way as Day 1 so I won't go into further details anymore, though the biggest surprise was seeing yukkie wearing something with polka-dots and what's even more shocking was that he was wearing loose pants, not skinny jeans!! I think it's my first time to see him wearing such attire for acid android so I will treasure that moment forever haha! ( ´ ▽ ` )
For the second day I had B-ticket, so when I and Pikomaru-san entered the hall, middle side near the stage was filled with fans already~ So I took that as a sign to go to Dai-chan's side (in the left) this time! (≧∇≦*) Although a little bit far from yukkie compared to yesterday, I managed to be in second row hence I could see Dai-chan's drum-set in its entire glory! I couldn't be that near to him in the three PITB lives that I've attended so far so I felt really lucky! Also, my position wasn't so bad because I could still see yukkie's whole body (I could see until his shoes this time unlike yesterday), albeit more of his side-view haha! But at least when he bent down I had a good view of him already compared to the previous day wherein he would disappear from my line of vision. XD It was still a strange sight to see yukkie wearing loose pants though! (˚▽˚)
On the second day I could enjoy Dai-chan's drumming better since I was standing really close to his drum-set and until now I'm still very touched by how well he drummed for each song. I'm sure he also made yukkie proud! (*´▽`*)If I were yukkie I'd buy him an expensive jacket or shoes or something like that haha! Kobayashi also did well of course, but I think drumming for an artist such as acid android (wherein the boss is one of the most respected drummers in Japan!) requires extra effort and massive talent. So yes, I'm really proud of dear Dai-chan for his good work! (*⌒▽⌒*)θ~♪
Ah! Prior to the live I had the chance to eat the acid android collaboration sweets in "Time Out Cafe & Diner" with Riku! I had a hard time trying to start eating it though because all I wanted to do was take it home and put it in my yukihiro shrine hahaha! It was delicious and very sweet and the tiny photo of yukkie was like cheering on me to enjoy eating it to the fullest! Ψ(゚∀゚ )Ψ
After that I was also very fortunate enough to have the chance to visit the "acid android exhibit 2016" with Pikomaru-san and Riku! Unfortunately there is only one spot wherein we could take a photo, so I had to stare at each photo wholeheartedly so I can remember it in my heart and soul~ The spot where camera is allowed housed a frame wherein at first glance you can only see a black canvass, but when you take a photo of it with flash, a really cool photo of yukkie would be visible! I must say it's totally amazing! *(*´∀`*)☆ The rest of the photos are framed and positioned nicely -- lots of really creative photos of yukkie, his hair and his sexy fingers~ His cane was also displayed there, as well as some acid android collaboration accessories with HARA-KIRI. The best part though was the video being played on loop via a projector... it was a collection of yukkie photos with wonderful animation by Nishida-san (acid's art director), and for some seconds the video also showed a clip of yukkie grabbing a microphone, walking, and holding and looking at a crystal-looking cube. I squealed internally and told myself "moving yukkie!!!" /dork I think I'm just really thirsty for any acid android video so I was very overwhelmed while watching the video. I'm really praying that an online version will be available someday because I think all yukkie fans need to see its beauty~ It's too breathtaking that I couldn't thank Nishida-san enough in Twitter. (●´∀`●)
(Please forgive my face XD)
In the exhibit I bought three sets of the acid android trading photos, and I got special present twice, so lucky! The special present is a free larger photo of yukki-- a note about it is included in random sets, so I guess I’m lucky to get 2 special present out of the three sets that I bought! ☆ But on a sad note, the acid phone-case got sold out as soon as I entered the exhibit!! I really wanted to buy it~ (*A*)
Anyway after the live we had dinner in "teranga" restaurant, which is owned by the sister of Imai-san's wife, and yukkie was said to have eaten there several times, there's even his autograph on the wall! I hope he has seated in the chair where I sat hihi~ ( ゚∀ ゚)
(Try to find yukkie’s sign~!)
In summary, these two days I experienced still feel like a dream until now. I'm extremely grateful for the chance to see yukkie as acid android again live, to enjoy the bizarre but surreal universe only he can create. (´∀`)♡ At the same time I could also see again the other side of Dai-chan and let his drumming in this fantastic universe engulf me. Honestly my eyes have never been this confused! I love both of them so much, I really wish I could gaze at both of them simultaneously! These two days had been really glorious for me, and I'm thankful that I could share the memories with Riku and Pikomaru-san~ I love you both! (*´▽`*)
I really hope acid android can release a new album soon so all fans can enjoy the cool new songs they have been playing in the past few years. Until then, I will continue to cheer for them! Till the next daydream! (´∀`)♡
In the meantime, happy happy birthday dear, yukkie! Thanks for being born in this world! Thanks to you, I can meet wonderful people and experience great things! I will love, respect and support you for as long as I can!! ٩(♡ε♡ )۶
(P.S. If anybody’s reading this, I’m sorry for the incoherence and typos/grammar errors~ I typed almost everything on my phone while commuting to and from work XD)
