LISA KIM-LOGAN ( SHE/HER ) is a CIS FEMALE TWENTY-FIVE year old JOURNALIST who has been living in Moorbrooke for TWENTY-FIVE YEARS. They were born on FEBRUARY 2nd and right now, they are currently residing in OAKLEY COURT. It has been said that they look suspiciously like SYDNEY PARK and if they had to choose a song to describe themselves, they would choose LIKE IT’S HER BIRTHDAY by GOOD CHARLOTTE.
katrina kim and vince logan had both dreamed of attending the university in moorbrooke since early on in their high school careers, studying hard and cobbling together what extra-curriculars they could. they met on move-in day, living across the hall from each other in a co-ed dorm, and have been inseparable ever since.
lisa kim-logan is the youngest of three sisters, and has been spoiled all the more for it. every parent knows that the first child is the guinea pig, the second one exists so that you can fix the mistakes with the first one, and you let the third one run loose just to see what happens.
it’s not that lisa can’t take care of herself. it’s just that the way that that looks to her might have different optics from the outside. back when she used to do shift work, half hour “bathroom breaks” to vape and sit on twitter were the norm. she’s lived in the same apartment for three years, but has never actually turned on the oven.
but she’s never been late to work once in the year that she’s worked at a job where she’s actually respected. she graduated with high honors when she got her bachelor’s. her place, much to the surprise of friends she brings over for the first time, is absolutely spotless.
that might be helped along by the fact that lisa is always out. she’s a regular social butterfly. that doesn’t mean that she’s getting drunk every night (just... weekends). you can catch her at concerts, at the beach, shopping with what funds small-town journalism provides her... or at her desk, if you can get into the building.
SAM SPENCER ( HE/HIM ) is a CIS MALE THIRTY-SEVEN year old CAR WASH OWNER/OPERATOR who has been living in Moorbrooke for THIRTY-SEVEN YEARS. They were born on OCTOBER 11th and right now, they are currently residing in REDGRAVE GROVE. It has been said that they look suspiciously like TYLER HOECHLIN and if they had to choose a song to describe themselves, they would choose STATE OF GRACE (TV) by TAYLOR SWIFT. ( brenn, 25, cst-ish, they/them )
sam is a moorbrooke native, like his parents before him. he can count on his hands the number of times that he’s left maine, much less the northeast. growing up in a college, beachside town like moorbrooke means that a lot of its residents ebb and flow with the seasons and the school year, but the ones that stick around get to know each other well.
sam was a little leaguer, not always the most attentive student, but not one to purposefully misbehave. at sixteen, he got his first summer job, washing cars down at surfside car wash, like generations of high schoolers had done before him. It was also the summer sam got his first girlfriend, for whom details of remain vague for possible connection reasons.
a year and some change later, when sam was eighteen, he learned that he was going to be a father. it definitely moved some plans around in his life, had him deferring a scholarship out of state for a year so that he could figure things out. needless to say, a year has turned into a lifetime.
sam took on a couple jobs to bring in some spare cash. his parents helped where they could, but the budget had been tight to begin with. one of these jobs turned out more lucrative then the others when he was promoted to supervisor, surfside.
for handwaving reasons that might be plotted, sam and his child’s mother are no longer together, and sam has been raising the apple of his eye at the very least half the time for the vast majority of their life. jumping from a supervisor to the general manager to, after years of scraping the funds together for the owner’s upcoming retirement, the owner-operator of this car wash, there’s definitely been a rough rise in the spencers’ quality of life over the last eighteen years, but sam’s primary motivation has been to give his kiddo everything he could. and, now that he’s not fully focused on that anymore... what is there for him?
