Fallen in love with this place, this swooningly picturesque gothic ruin, a true green chapel cloaked in ivy, on the hill among the woods.

Self-portraits by Anna Bilińska-Bohdanowiczowa (1857-1893)
“The 'Nebra Sky Disk' with two bronze swords and axe heads uncovered from Saxon-Anhalt, Germany and dated to 1600 BC. This incredible discovery of the oldest depiction of the universe was almost lost to the black market.
Dated to 1600 BCE, this bronze disk has a diameter of 32cm (about the size of a vinyl LP) and weighs around 2 kg. It is patinated blue-green and embossed with gold leaf symbols which appear to represent a crescent moon, the sun (or perhaps a full moon), stars, a curved gold band, interpreted as a sun boat, and a further gold band on the edge of the disk which probably represent one of the horizons.”

... topaz ...
'Topaz' - the birthstone for November - from Mucha’s series ‘The Precious Stones’ (1900)
The dreamy expression of 'Topaz' recalls Mucha's poster for his solo exhibition at the Salon des Cent.
Mucha's use of flat colour and bold outlines, as seen in the honesty plant in the lower half of the composition, reveals his debt to Japanese prints.
