âWell I decided to go back to France for a while. I only came back yesterday.â
âSounds fun.âÂ
âNo, it wasnât funny, he nearly burned my eyebrows off!â
âWhat a pity.âÂ
What the bloody hell are you doing here?
Sitting?Â
Now really isnât the time.
Time is a man made substance, just say you donât want to talk to me.Â
âDonât touch that.â
âWhat that? I wasnât going to.âÂ
Family Day Out || Aaron, Marcus, and Amycus
Aaron couldnât find it in himself to stop Marcus from crawling all over Amycusâ face. It was what he deserved ater the rude awakening heâd given Aaron earlier. Plus it was pretty darn cute, though heâd never admit that out loud.
Marcusâ giggling filled the room as he continued to crawl, wanting desperately to get the other manâs attention. âIâm not too sure he cares much about that,â Aaron grinned, moving to sit on the bed and watch the two interact. It didnât matter which of his friends was around Marcus, Aaron always enjoyed watching the little boy bring light to their eyes. It was a talent the kid had.
The loudest laugh left Aaron as Amycus brought up Alecto. Both of them knew not to wake the Sleeping Beauty; not if they wanted to leave with their body parts still intact. âYou better listen to Uncle Amy, Auntie Alecto might eat you if you try to wake her up.â He grinned as he made a face at his son.
A loud peal of laughter broke the silence as Amycus got up and Aaron only looked at the boy questioningly. âTell him why you woke him up, Marcus.â He instructed, giving him a stern look. âZoo!â He all but yelled, bouncing up and down excitedly before moving to tug on Amycusâ hand.
âI think sheâs actually eaten kids before.â Amycus whispered, more to Aaron than to Marcus. If Alecto had ever walked up to him and told him sheâd consumed small children before, he would probably just nod and accept it. Eating kids wouldnât be the worst thing sheâd ever done, obviously it wouldnât be the best, but it wouldnât be the worst and that was the most important thing.Â
His sister was a topic of much concern for him, he tried not to think about her too much. Especially lately. She was gone. Again. The more he tried to distract himself the more that he seemed to be talking about her. He wanted to ignore her existence, but instead he was just talking about her more and more. Her name alone caused a pang of sadness in his chest, he just wanted her in his arms again.Â
Amycus picked the child up, giving a half hearted attempt to hold him still before allowing himself to be used as a jungle gym once again. âPlease tell me why you woke me up, Iâve got a pretty bad headache going on here Kid.â Zoo. Amycus couldnât help but grin slightly. He always wanted to go to the zoo but heâd never gone. Alecto always said it was stupid and he wasnât going to go by himself. Going to the zoo by yourself was lame, he wasnât going to be that lame.Â
âWeâre going to the zoo, huh?â He asked, grabbing Marcus again, this time holding him up above his own head. âI will come to the zoo,â He told the child, looking up at him, âBut only if you promise that weâll go see the penguins.âÂ
Family Day Out || Aaron, Marcus, and Amycus
Aaron puttered around as Marcus and Amycus slept. There were things heâd been putting off since arriving home and while it had been nice to enjoy time with his son and his friends, he needed to somewhat get back to real life. Envelopes cluttered his table; whether they were letters from fans or from other more important people he wasnât sure just yet. Still, there as no time like the present to read them.
Time ticked by slowly as he moved through each piece of parchment at a snailâs pace. He didnât want to do it, didnât care to do it. but since he had fired whatever that girlâs name was, he was the only one left to it. Unless he could bribe Shay into doing it the next time she came over. A smirk formed on his lips at the thought and he set the parchment down. Shay would do it. Most of it was stuff sheâd have to look over anyways.Â
It wasnât long after that he heard the tell tale sign of Marcus waking up. He moved swiftly, wanting to avoid a full out crying, sobbing mess. Why Marcus was having nightmares, he wasnât entirely sure. But heâd learned quickly how to combat them. He crept into his room and grabbed the sniffling child and held him against his chest and rocked him gently. âYouâre fine, bud. I got ya,â he mumbled, pressing a kiss to his sonâs forehead.
Marcus sniffled further before quieting as he rubbed at his eyes. Words were mumbled incoherently against his shoulder as Marcus slowly woke up. âWhat are we doing today, Marc?â Aaron asked as he moved from his bedroom and into the kitchen. He sat Marcus on the counter, watching him as he got him something to drink. âZoo!â Marcus exclaimed, now fully awake and grinning. âIs Uncle Amy coming too?â He asked with a raised eyebrow. Aaron was sure Amycus would like it. especially if it was Marcusâ idea. At the nod he received, Aaron chuckled and set the young boy on the floor and patted his bum. âGo wake him up then. Be really loud.â
There were feet on his head. Thatâs what he woke up to. The feeling of small feet and legs crawling on his head.
âThatâs my head.â He called out, still half asleep. Then came the giggling. The giggling was what convinced him that he was not going to be allowed to go back to sleep, no matter how much his head wanted him to.
His entire body protested as he pulled the child off his head, he sat up, grinning as he pulled a laughing Marcus down into his lap. âHey listen kid,â He mumbled, unable to keep the grin off his face as he hugged him tightly, âhavenât you ever been told that youâre not supposed to wake people up? Itâs really rude. I could be a fire breathing dragon you know. Alecto is. No matter what anyone ever tells you, you canât wake Alecto up, she will eat you.â
Amycus set Marcus on the ground, sliding out of the bed. He fought against his muscles, which were screaming at him to lay back down and sleep for another year or so. âOkay Sushi Roll, whatâs the big idea here? Why am I awake?â
âAmy thatâs what elves are for.â She snapped her fingers and waited as it appeared in front of them. âMake Amy whatever he wants.â
Amycus looked over as the elf as it appeared. âI want waffles, lots of them, with strawberries and whipped cream.âÂ
Aaron rolled his eyes, more at ease now that Amycus had agreed to sleep off whatever was in his system. âTell Uncle Amy a story to make him fall asleep faster, Marcus,â he chuckled as he followed them.
Amycus crawled into Aaronâs bed, carefully laying Marcus beside him, âYou know how to tell stories now? Thatâs really good because I donât know how. Alecto knows a little bit, but she can only tell scary stories full of things that Iâm not allowed to talk to you about.â He pulled the blanket up to Marcusâ chin, then wiggled down so that it was covering him as well.Â
She huffed again and moved to lay on her back. âWhat are we doing?â
âWell, first Iâm going to need some breakfast, so if you want to scurry off to the kitchen and make some food I would appreciate it.âÂ
âYeah, yeah. Whatever you say, Carrow,â he rolled his eyes as Marcus shuffled forward and wrapped his arms around Amycusâ leg. âJust go to sleep, Amy.â
Amycus looked a bit happier as Marcus grabbed onto his leg. âMarcus seems tired, probably because I woke him up.â He bent down, picking up the child still grinning, âLetâs go sleep in daddyâs bed.â
She huffed and pouted, peeking one eye open to look up at him. âDo I have to?â
Amycus pouted back at her, "Yes. You do."
âWho is me and why are you so loud?â
âEly,â Amycus sighed loudly, flopping into bed beside her, âDonât go back to sleep.âÂ
âAmy its so early,â she whined, curling into his side and hiding her face. âWhy are you awake?â
"Sleep is for the weak." He replied, grinning while he wrapped an arm around her, "Ready to wake up?"
âIf you didnt see one in my bed already, then there arenât any here.â
âNo attractive new nanny I should know about?â
âIâm home. She got fired.â
âWell thatâs depressing. Weâre going to talk about what when I get up.â Amycus bent down, patting Marcus on the head a little too roughly. âYou be good while I sleep.â
âIf you didnt see one in my bed already, then there arenât any here.â
