Edgar sighed. So he did look that pathetic. Edgar was in a good place in his career, but his family life was non-existent, and that was all that he ever wanted in his life. He always wanted kids. He was gifted with two girls that he would still do anything and everything for. Unfortuantely, in saving Lexi’s life, he lost both of them.
He studied the other for a moment. “You buy this round, and I’ll buy the next, sound good?” he asked slowly. His words were already slightly slurred, but he wasn’t one to accept free drinks from just anyone. Usually, he was the one to offer to buy a drink first.
Tonight was just a bad night for him.
“That sounds wonderful,” Amycus purred, flagging down the bartender for two more of what Edgar was having. He sat down on the stool next to Edgar, leaning on it just so to expose the line of his throat and collarbone, just to see what it would do. “It’s just- you seem familiar,” he continued, “Maybe you just have that kind of face... or-” he made a bit of a show of staring at Edgar’s face. It wasn’t an unpleasant act by any means. “- Or have I seen your face in the Prophet?”
The girl behind the bar was quick about their order, and two glasses appeared in front of them. He sent her a wink and made a mental note to tip her later, so she’d know to make a habit of it.
“Regardless, I’ve heard misery loves company, isn’t that so?”
