WAIT OK SO BLOODYMARY AU WAITWAIT I GOT THIS
Hades!Simon, who isn't so much the king of the underworld, as he is more like his prisoner. He had been trying to crawl out for millennias, but he keeps on getting pushed back by the blood of the dying and by the monsters of his own realm.
And Kore!Grace who is far too curious and naive to the dangers of exploring new places. So he wanders around and finds an opening to a dark and horrid place. His instinct was to run away, but he slipped and fell down. Hurt and scared, he finds himself at the beginning of a dark path and he can't climb back up.
He decides that if this specific spot is too steep to climb, if he follows along the jagged and slimy wall, hoping that he would find a spot that gets better. But it only becomes worse. The walls feel like they're bleeding, the air feels thick and acidic, and Grace is starting to think he should have gone the other way.
And then he hears waves. The ocean, maybe?
He hears waves and sees a man laying on what was almost a shore. Grace ran to him to check if he was okay - he looked dead and... oh gods... was that blood? was he covered in human bl- oh" oh he was going to throw up. That was no ocean. That was blood. And those weren't waves, but whispered voices of the dead.
Grace pulled the man aside and away from that place.
His arm was missing. He was covered in scars... His hand was injured from the rocky walls .... he had also been trying to escape.
Grace laid him on his thighs and wiped the blood off his face.
Simon was trapped in hell - dark and endless, always being thrashed by the waves of all the physical representation of pain and suffering of the dead. He was drowning in it. Cold and forever alone. Cursed and ugly.
And yet when tried to open his eyes it was there.
The picture of beauty - a silhouette of a bright face, light behind him like the personalised vision of hope. With a warm hand wiping away the darkness clinging from his face.
"Are you alright?" A voice like dripping nectar and ambrosia.
