Dear parents & caretakers of disabled kids: stop treating your kid like their disability is more of a burden on you than it is on them. It isn't, and never will be.

Ada Limón, from “Forgiveness”
[text ID: And aren’t we all alone in the end? / You put your head for a moment against my chest. / Then, all I could hear was our breathing, and I understood / we were both human and animal-hearted, / bound to the blades, and bound to outrun them.]

I want to look as sick as I feel. so they know it's real
somewhere a group of weird little girls is accidentally practicing a ritual that got forgotten 3000 years ago. brings me peace

A lot of people are sympathetic to the concept of PTSD but not the reality of it.
They expect you to stare off into space or be sad, and they aren’t sympathetic to the angry moments, to strong reactions to triggers, to the paranoia and fear of abandonment, they aren’t sympathetic to the disorders that are often co-morbid like personality disorders, dissociative disorders, or psychotic disorder. There’s more to PTSD than just “being shy” or scared.
