Day one: Trust.

It took years, few near death accidents and hundreds of comfortable in silent evenings for Halt to trust enough to tell Crowley anything about the past. When he did, it was like the first breath he ever took. Painful at first but bringing the overwhelming relief. And with every other word made it easier and easier.

I've been wanting to do this scene for a while, and @that-one-enby-ranger-2000 suggested I do this back in my word blog. Here it is. I'm back to my old background-hating ways, because there's so much more I could have included in the picture, but I didn't want to detract from Will and Halt in the infamous Boar Scene.

How it works:

The Ranger Gathering will run for the entire the month of June, 2026. Each day has a prompt that participants can use to inspire works about Ranger's Apprentice, The Early Years, The Royal Ranger, or Brotherband.

A few notes on the Gathering:

You do NOT have to do all the prompts, or even most of the prompts to participate in the Gathering! The most important thing is to have fun and avoid burnout. Pick whichever prompts inspire your creativity, and ignore the rest.

The Gathering is meant to show off all forms of creativity! This means art, music, writing, memes, textpost, moodboards, playlists, or whatever else you can come up with. Don't feel like you can't participate if you're not an artist or author.

Consider this my Christmas gift from me to you all lovely RA fanatics.

Not exactly how I envision Halt's front lawn, but I've never liked backgrounds, so I threw one down and called it good. While listening to the RoG audio book again, I was slapped again with one of Flanagan's clear visual pictures in my mind's eye and decided to draw it before the image faded.

You are now the recipients of my brain image slapping. 🙂👍

Lunch time conversations while on missions

[Video Description: a video featuring a voice over of a Tumblr post and 3 still images in sequence.
