Our caretaker, another of our hosts, and my twin sis, Summer is basically a constant beam of sunshine that everyone loves, she likes writing and art the most out of all of us, and she also loves animals and anything else she thinks is cute or pretty; she has a sideblog at @all-that-summer-had-to-say where she mostly posts about writing or reblogs anything she finds cute, be warned because she does think bugs are cute but she tags them appropriately

Our third and final host, Autumn was discovered much later than Summer but together the two of them make up the September subsystem; Autumn's pretty similar in a lot of ways but more free-spirited and with more of a backbone, she also likes working on music and UI design, and is better at relaxing than Summer

I knew that the general populations of tumblr hated non-white women with a burning passion only matched by their love of shipping two white guys together but after reading the Kimberlé Crenshaw essay that originally coined "intersectionality" and seeing the way its been bastardized on here legitimately has me seeing red. The way something as simple to understand as, "women who exist on multiple axis of oppression, i.e. black women, often have their unique experiences erased when separate discussions of anti-black racism and misogyny are had" has been warped into "marginalized white people and men face unique discrimination on account of them being [insert marginalized identity] + white/men and if you disagree ummmm haven't you ever heard of intersectionality? *links wikipedia page* checkmate, bigot!"
Like, I am just at a loss for words. I don't know how to explain to these people that marginalized white people and men are not oppressed or neglected on the basis of being white/men, so it's quite silly (and that's being generous) to assert that there is any type of intersection between their marginalized identity and their identity as a white person/man that makes them uniquely oppressed. In fact, in positing such notions you lend credence to fascist concepts such as "anti-white racism" or "anti-male sexism." And when I try to explain this, they will ignore me, hurl misogynistic and racist slurs at me, or most bewildering of all bring up white people and men with additional marginalized identities as a "gotcha!" of... sorts. Either you fundamentally do not understand what I'm trying to explain to you or you're being willfully obtuse, but either way you are twisting the writings of black feminists so that they can fit into your incredibly reactionary worldview and I refuse to engage with you ghouls any further on that basis.
TL;DR: Before you try to lecture anyone, let alone feminists of color or transfeminists (least of all feminists who are both!) on "not understanding what intersectionality is," you should probably read the original essay by Kimberlé Crenshaw first. This may seem like a no-brainer, but alas, it is not.
this is really interesting in how it frames disability/low spoons/etc as not being a series of internal symptoms, but specifically a situation in which daily tasks increase in complexity. for example i used to be able to wash the dishes normally. but now mental and physical issues combine to make that situation have a lot of prequalifications (do I have time, energy, how long can I do it without being sore the next day) that means many more steps are involved in getting that single physical act of washing a dish to be done.
In response to the comments of @normalest-lux-ever, @aprofessionallurker, and @arcanobabble on this post because one comment wasn’t enough to say everything I want to say
In the experiences of myself, as a nonbinary trans woman, and those of the many trans people I’ve talked to: we, as trans people, are generally pressured away from feminine identities as a whole. I wasn’t considering transfeminist theory when I wrote that original comment, but I believe that is the phenomenon I was speaking to.
I only rarely find that being nonbinary on its own to be a specifically oppressed identity vs being transgender. A transmasculine individual will often be pressured to be a man over being nonbinary, and to be a woman over being a man. A transfeminine individual, such as myself and such as I was implying Kris to be, will conversly be more often pressured to be nonbinary over being a woman, and to be a man over being nonbinary. If you account for the pressures upon transmasculine individuals to be women as being a result of transphobia, then the disparities between the experiences of transmasculine and transfeminine individuals speak to a prioritization of masculinity, not of binary identity.
Of course all of these statements come with the disclaimers that this all only speaks to experiences I have encountered, and that many people will have biases against nonbinary individuals specifically (such as transmedicalism’s push to have all trans people exhibit cisnormative identities). These biases, however, do not account for the bulk of social pressures, and more often than not form amongst transgender individuals to try to appease systems of power.
To wrap all of this up with a personal anecdote, I have been pressured, both socioculturally and personally, to push my identity away from womanhood. I originally adopted being nonbinary, as well as they/them pronouns and a new name, after a year of absorbing all the vile hatred of transmisogyny without even being fully aware of it. I only began to reclaim my own femininity after realizing that my desire to move towards neutrality and masculinity was a desire to feel safe from misogyny, and, as many of us do, I see a lot of my self in Kris’s story, and I really want Deltarune to end with them being as happy as possible.
these are different things btw. actual adaptability means not dealing with being miserable long term. and being constantly mildly annoyed/frustrated with a situation but being “able to deal with it” counts as ambient misery. btw.
let this be your sign to make your life just a little more livable. get a dollar store trash can for your bedside so Cup City’s invasion plans fall through. block a tag or post that makes you grind your teeth every time you see it. get some grip pads so your bed stops sliding across the hardwood a little bit every time you get in it. tell that person you need a little more support. if you get annoyed at a situation more than a couple times, change it. don’t be content with being miserable.
and the more that you start doing this, the better you will get at detecting your own feelings and advocating for yourself! This is an important start to being more of a person in the world if you struggle with that
To give a bit deeper context to this since I don’t expect this sundown-town-ass website to know any Black history,
Im mainly thinking of Marshall’s early career, before he became the first Black Supreme Court Justice. He was a traveling attorney for the NAACP, and won 29 of the 32 civil rights cases he took against the Supreme Court, including ending “Separate But Equal” doctrine via Brown v. Board of Education in 1954 and resulted in a ruling that segregation was unconstitutional.
He was a master of using the words of the system against itself to force it to lose by its own rules, often being able to use existing sociological data to prove the ways that Black people were not just being discriminated against, but were being disproportionally harmed by segregation. He was responsible for releasing a large amount of legal shackles placed on Black people in the US as a whole, though he did focus hard on school desegregations - in part because he had been rejected from schools on account of being Black himself, including Maryland’s state law school.
This is obviously a brief summary, but this is the kind of person trans women need fighting for us specifically right now. Who knows the fucking pains of how we are treated and the horrific segregation, discrimination, and danger trans women face personally. The system aint gonna *save* us but having people do their best to toss a wrench in the gears killing us Officially and slowing things down means even one more person might survive, and even one more person surviving than would otherwise is a win.

they've had to face settlements against stealing from current authors, so they'll just go for the old books now. they're also doing this so they have the only copies of rare books.
they're taking water, power, natural resources for their data centers. they steal. they're book burning, essentially. i'm just so angry, i'm at a loss right now.
