Cue the cattle. Only the most photogenic, each in a particular position and posture to match a precise comp. Each expression distinct and endearing. Move slowly and whisper, so they don’t stampede. Shoot each from identical camera positions, so they all fall into place in post. No problem. We brought cow candy.
The agency, client, and crew were troopers—soldiering through a 50 mph dust storm, harsh Texas sun, camera-shy cattle, and steers who finally decided we weren’t welcome in their pens. We made a new best friend, Jeff, the homely steer, who fell in love with Assistant Spencer’s ear rubs.
