Now, selective tax breaks skew the market in favor of government’s preferred cronies - so I won’t be crying many tears for the big corporations… On the other hand, I’m in favor of letting everyone keep as much of their own money as possible (particularly all of it). But let’s not confuse what it is that Sanders “gets”: take more money, spend more money. In other words, the same socialist totalitarian tripe he’s always peddled.

Ending the wars, on the other hand - that’s where we find complete agreement (though for me, it’s not just with Afghanistan and Iraq; also, he doesn’t seem to be against the war when it’s time to fund it - but man, does he love spending your money). I’m also heartily in support of cutting any and all actual subsidies (in every industry).

How did you get “totalitarian” from any of this? I get that pooling our collective wealth to benefit the whole is less palatable to some libertarians than simply ignoring structural inequity, but totalitarian is really out of left field to me.

I get that valuing consensual relationships and exchanges to benefit the whole is less palatable to leftist “progressives” than simply threatening people with violence in order to achieve their desired ends but totalitarian is completely relevant considering the totality with which he (and they) presume the right to control and interfere in nearly every aspect of society.
