Siberian Chipmunk
This cute little animal is called the Siberian Chipmunk( Eutamias sibiricus ). This species lives mainly near Eastern Asia in the ground. Chipmunks like to dig holes into the grounds to live in. The Siberian Chipmunk usually has 5 black stripes down its back and is 18-25 cm long. They usually live solitary lives but in the winter they create burrows. They eat herb roots, insects, mollusks, birds, reptiles, grains, fruit, and fungus. These chipmunks reproduce around april and are born blind and naked. A fun fact about these creatures is that they actually help our environment tremendously.

The Amami rabbit ( Pentalagus furnessi ) very rare primitive rabbit. This species is found in Amami Ōshima and Toku-no-Shima. They like to live between mature and young forests, and use high grounds and grass to cover their nests. The Amami Rabbit has a diet that consists of grass and acorns. They sometimes also can eat small insects. This rabbit usually has dark or light brown fur. They have very short legs and usually grow between 2.5-2.8kg. These rabbits have young around March-May and have about 1-2 at a time. IN fact they are very protective over them, they even dig holes and cover them up from snakes and such. This species although is no dangerous, but it is endangered.

The bob cat ( Lynx rufus ) is one of the most well known of the cat species. The bobcat has a wide face, brown,grey, and black fur. Although the cat species in general is adorable, dont let this one fool you. The bobcat can be pretty vicious, it likes to eat many large animals/mammals. Even sharks! This cat ranges from southern Canada to central mexico. The bobcat lives to about 7 years of age, and usually begin to breed by their second summer. They give birth to 1-6 kittens usually in April or May.

The killer whale( Orcinus orca )is a beautiful creature,but its name is not as true as you may think. Killer whales are not a threat to humans unless they are in a bad environment *cough cough sea world*. These whales are black and white, and usually about 9 feet tall. Killer whales hunt varied prey including fish, cephalopods, mammals, sea birds and sea turtles. They live in the sea, obviously, but are known to be found in basically every ocean known to man. They begin to have babies around the age of 20 and die at the age of about 105.

The Japanese Spider Crab( Macrocheira kaempferi )is one of the largest crab species. This species has the greatest leg span of any arthropod. The body can grow to 14 inches. This crab is orange with white spots on its legs. This crab blends in with the floor of the ocean, making it almost invisible. These crabs are usually found of the the southern coasts of the Japanese islands. The female crabs have their fertilized eggs attached to them, and will hatch in about 72 days.They like to eat plant matter and animals. The young look nothing like their parents. These species are known for hurting others with their incredibly sharp laws.

So if you even own a facebook, you may have noticed a lot about a giraffe giving birth. So i thought, why not make it my OOW? Giraffes(Giraffa camelopardalis) are in the aniamlia kingdom and mainly found throughout Africa. They can stand to be 14-18ft tall and can weigh up to 2600 pounds! These creatures have orange, brown, white, and sometimes black fur. They are very well known for their long neck and have a diet of leaves from trees. In fact, their long necks helps them a lot with reaching the leaves. Usually, a giraffe fives birth to 1 giraffe in 400-600 days, but on rare occasions it can have twins.

OSTRICH
This weeks organism is the Struthio camelus, which is part of the animalia group. You have probably seen this species somewhere, but you may not know a lot about it. One of the main characteristics of ostrich’s that a lot of people know is how it sticks its head in the ground with its egg. This is so the egg stays warm and is protected. Ostrich’s can be found in mainly in east Africa near the Sahara desert. Ostriches usually weigh from 63 to 145 kilograms (139–320 lb), or as much as two adult humans. These creature are huge with brown, black, or grey feathers. A fun fact about the ostrich is that the mothers are very protective over their young and their eggs re the largest of all eggs.

This weeks organism is the Phascolarctos cinereus, it is part of the P. Cinereus species and is possibly the cutest thing alive. Koala’s have grey, black, and white fur, a big nose, and adorable eyes. It has a body length of 60–85 cm (24–33 in) and a weight of 4–15 kg (9–33 lb). They dont grow that large in size, but are tiny to begin with. This species has one of the smallest brains in proportion to body weight and lives mainly in Asia. When pregnant, the female gives birth to one single joey. It then lives for 13-18 years.

This weeks organism is the Orcaella brevirostris. It is of the animalia species and it is part of the O. brevirostris. This rare creature can be found in brackish water near coasts. This dolphin is kind of like a beluga in appearence, but it is mostly related to the killer whale. Their mating season is from December to June, and they are pregnant for 14 months and give birth to a single calf. They like to communicate through cricks, creaks, and squeeks. They like to eat fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods. A fun fact about this amazing species is that to get their prey, they trap it in a circle and wait for it to get tired then attack.

TUFTED DEER
This weeks OOW is the tufted dear ( Tufted deer ). This very rare creature, grows up in forested mountains and is mainly found in China. It is a part of the E. cephalophus species and is in the anamalia kingdom. The tufted deer, is well known for its long necks, slightly leaner appearance, fang like teeth, and its antlers (but only in men). Their tales are really short and weighs around 66 lbs. The mating season is around September to December and the deer is pregnant for 6 months and gives birth to about a litter of 2. For its diet, it eats a lot of plants and it eats a lot of smaller animals, such as rats. Although deer are known for being very delicate, this species is not as quite nice.

For this weeks OOW i did the Raphus cucullatus although this unique species is extinct, scientist have found a ton of information about this creature. It was about 3 feet tall and 45 pounds, or less. This species of R. cucullatus is known to be very fat and clumsy. It was in the Animalia kingdom and was on a diet of fallen fruits, nuts, and seeds. It had yellow feet, grey feathers, and a bald head. Its main habitat is believed to have been the woods in the drier coastal areas of Mauritius. This animal was belived to lay just one egg and it hatch later on.

Kitti's hog-nosed bat
This weeks organism of the week is the Craseonycteris thonglongyai. It is usually about 1.3 inches and is known for its nose that resembles a hogs. Most of its body is a reddish-brown. And it is like this since birth. It is in the animalia kingdom and its species is known as the C. thonglongyai. It is one of the smallest, bat species and one of the smallest animals in the world. It usually lives in live stone caves along rivers and i also known as the bumblebee bat. This species likes to eat fruits and small insects. For birth, it usually gives birth to one young and it stays with its mother until it is fully grown.
