Lots of people have been asking for a supplemental Plans Chaos. How about a supplemental Time Spiral or a supplemental Future Sight?
Letās take a poll. Would you like a supplemental Time Spiral? How about a supplemental Future Sight? If yes to both, which would you like more?
I liked more Time Spiral, but mostly because I love references to characters of magicās past and Dominaria. Future sight had some interesting designs but I like more when you expand something old, than when you leave unfinished cycles and ideas for ever.
Inquiring Minds Want to Know - Characters Without a Card
What character that has never gotten a legendary creature/planeswalker card would you most like to see get one. If youād like to tell me why, that would also be much appreciated.
I have been waiting for this for a very long time, I have a lot to ask for: Planeswalkers: Taysir of Rabiah, very cool story, relevant for many plots, an interesting character. Commodore Guff, although he breaks the fourth wall a bit, he has a very interesting Jeskai card, Wild research thats super fun, and a very relevant lore. Bo Levar: I would love to see his ship, interplanar smuggler? sign me please, also a very sad story that gives me the chills. Ravi Sengir: she look very selesnya to me, but then she rings the chime, and she becomes demented. It would be an awesome flip card. Serra and Feroz: they are fantastic white characters and a lovely couple. Jeska: although she has a creature card, she is a very relevant character of the mending and it would be nice to see her in planeswalker form. Dakkon blackblade: a very dark and interesting character. Creatures: The shah of Naar isle: I love the aethestics of the wildfire plane and old school djinns. Vincent andĀ Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar: maybe she could be created as a token to fit her name. I love the idea of the underworld cookbookĀ Kyodai and Michiko: the new supreme gods of kamigawa, it would be nice to see a revisit. Daudi the enlightened tutor: she seems like a fierce lady, I would love to see a zalphir reference. Belbe, Takara, Oracle en-vec and Lyna: they were relevant in tempest but never got their card. Piru the colorless elder dragon, she was important for the Dakkon plot. Krark: I love the idea of a very random goblin. Marycz, Shilgengar, and the lost sister: they all seem like really cool Innistrad characters. Thaddeus and Agnate: they would be an excellent partner couple. GrizzlegomĀ : again he could a fantastic addition in a The coalition flavored commander deck. A legendary Kavu if possible Naya. Colfenor the progenitor of sapling, I like treefolks. AgnomakhosĀ : I really love kynaios and tiro, so it would be nice to see his card and a card of them defeating him. Feather: I love red-white angels and I would like to see a playable boros commander. Tamiyoās Husband and kids: they make a lovely family. Thanks for reading :)
Inquiring Minds Want To Know - Co-operative Magic
If there was a fully cooperative way to play Magic, what features would you want it to have?
A lot of flavor consistency, lets say you are one of theĀ innistradĀ angel sisters and you have to fight the demon deck griselbrand, that would make sense. Now if I am playing cooperative I donāt want to just play good stuff magic without flavor, I want a real quest.
Inquiring Minds Want To Know - New Worlds
My question for today is about new worlds youād like to see (for a Standard-legal set). You can tell me about any source material (cultural or genre) youād like to see serve as an inspiration for a set or any existing mechanical components or themes youād like to see a set built around. The only thing I ask for you not to give me is mechanical things Magic has not done yet (aka I am not soliciting new Magic cards, mechanics or mechanical components). Thanks.
I would like to see drag queens being represented in magic, rakdos is a place they could work, but I could see them in other places. A space travel or interstellar world tied by magic would also be interesting. Some cards like Crucible of worlds hint the idea of interplanetary travel. Well those are interesting tropes to visit. An ancient roman world would also be interesting, but please donāt make gods like you did with Amonkhet that where almost indentical to the Theros ones. A nod to Theros would also be a fun cultural reference. Finally I would like to see planes that were mentioned but never got a chance to be visited, for example Wildfire, I like the aethestics of the Shah/Cities of Brass.
Inquiring Minds Want To Know - Planes to Visit in the Future
In todayās information gathering, Iām interested to hear what planes you want to visit in an upcoming Standard-legal set. Hereās how I would like you to respond. Please list, in order, your favorites from one up to five. You can list less than five, but please restrict yourself to five answers. Number 1 should be the plane you most want to see us visit in the future.Ā
If youāre interested you may also tell me why you want to return to that plane. You can list any known plane including ones weāve never visited before. I need names of existing planes though and notĀ āwild west planeā.Ā
Hereās an example:
1. Innistrad - Itās my favorite plane
2. Fiora - I love Conspiracy and would like to see Fiora in a Standard-legal set.
3. Tarkir - Go back, but there better be clans.
4. Rath - I donāt know how youād do it, but Iād love it.
5. Alara - More Esper please.
I would love to get a lot of data, so please pass this along to your Magic friends to answer as well.
Please number your answers as the data will be weighted. I will count them in the order listed if you donāt number them.Ā PleaseĀ donāt list the same plane more than once.Ā
1. Kamigawa: I am willing to accept major changes. I really love the flavor of the world, the tribes, the mythology, but I have no issues if these things get changed for more pop culture references, after all its been a 1000 years since the last visit and almost 15 years since its release. 2 Jamuraa: even though its not a world Dominaria is so big that focusing in this contienent would make sense. I like the african heritage and I want to see more about the ZhalfirĀ and Teferi plot line.
3 Fiora: the world has nice aesthetics, interesting characters and mechanics. 4 Ulgrotha/ Serraās Realm: I would love to see a prequel focused on old planes, i think Ulgrotha has some creative elements that had potential but were poorly executed. Besides Faeries, Angels, Minotaurs and Vampires are popular tribes.
I for one would also like to announce my love for and hope for a future set with Ninja's. Specifically Ninja's with Ninjutsu or a tweaked version of the mechanic. Unfortunately I can't envision them without it.
Question for you all. Which is your thought on Ninjas:
a) must have Ninjitsu (or some tweak) if they return
or
b) does not need to have a Ninjitsu-like keyword/ability if they return
I know you've said a number of times that the issue with a return to Kamigawa is that so much would have to change to make a viable set that it would really be a return in name only. Which do you think is the better idea: a return to Kamigawa with you being given the freedom to change as much as you need to change to make a viable set, or an entirely new Japanese-themed plane, built from the ground up incorporating everything you've learned in the past years?
Okay, Question Marks. Which would you prefer and why:
a) a return to Kamigawa where R&D is given the freedom to change as much as we need to make a viable set
or
b) an entirely new Japanese-themed plane, built from the ground up incorporating everything R&D has learned in the past years
Let R&D do whats needed, It would break my heart to see a new japanese set.
Do people want a Return to Kamigawa more, or a Return to Lorwyn/Shadowmoor more?
Okay, Question Marks, where would you rather return:
a) Kamigawa
or
b) Lorwyn
Also, explain why you chose the answer you did.
Kamigawa, mostly because it was one of most deeply, detailed mythological worlds you have constructed. I think it failed because it was just too real for the american public, who is more avid of pop culture. I think it has more potential to outperfom its predecessor, but lorwyn wont, also there are humans in kamigawa, and lorwyn got an extra set, so it already had more content than kamigawa.
