Stassi had been convinced to come to this party, but now that she was here she was having a great time. The music was good, though she had known that already since she knew the band was Roman’s. Still, she had managed to stay away from him and have some fun, now she was getting herself another drink before stepping out into the night, taking in a breath of the cool night air and closing her eyes. There was a slight breeze which helped cool her off, then she turned on the spot and yanked the door open. She’d gotten five steps before she came face to face with him, only unlike the other times, this time he was greeted with a smile. “Hey, you were great tonight.”

          life had moved like a dream — being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to tour the country , playing his music with his band , going to places he’d never been before where crowds of people screamed his name … it truly felt like he was on cloud 9. ending the tour had been hard for roman , maybe harder for him than the rest of his bandmates. the last show had been rough because he knew it was all coming to an end , he had put his heart and soul into that final performance. choosing to go back to evergreen had been a rough decision because he knew what effort he might have been putting in before he had dropped out wasn’t going to be the same effort he was going to put in now. but he had to do something with his time. getting back into the swing of things had been easy. getting back into delta had been his biggest worry , but he had friends on inside ( he treated it like it was some ‘ secret ‘ operation ) who got him his spot back in the frat.

            he owed a lot to them , so when one of his brothers ( for all intensive purposes ) asked a favor of him of course he said yes to it. that’s how he found himself standing outside the front doors of the zta house. seeing anastasia walk outside hadn’t been what roman expected. he felt his heart drop at the sight of her and yet he couldn’t bring himself to drag his gaze away from her. she was just as beautiful as the last time he’d seen her , a little different now , he admitted , but god was she beautiful. beautiful and… coming right at him? shit. 

            “ I — ” he couldn’t even get a word out as he looked at her , shocked. “ is this how we’re always going to run into each other? “ a quick , but smooth ( if he did say so himself ) change in topic. “ why do we always find each other when we’re not expecting it? it’s nice to see you too , ana. “ hearing her nickname roll off his tongue brought an unwanted but not particularly unwelcomed smile to his lips. “ you look different. did you change your hair? “

Stassi wished she could’ve stopped herself from walking over to him, she really did, but it was like her feet had a mind of their own. Her mouth too, she’d never greeted him so coldly before. Not even after the break up, but this was part of her trying to change herself she supposed. There was a little sense of pride in herself as she saw the look of shock on his face, she had surprised him that was certain, and maybe she had wanted that, at least part of her did anyways. Then he changed the topic and she decided to follow suit, letting the greeting go, though she was then quickly caught on the old nickname, Roman was the only one who hadn’t gotten the memo that she wasn’t going by that anymore. “I think it’s because we never expect to see each other...” The girl said with a small shrug, smiling a bit when he complimented her hair. “Uh- Yeah... Bit of a change... I don’t go by Ana anymore either, it’s uh- It’s Stassi now.” She told him, her lips pressed together into a line as she looked at him.

After going home for Christmas, Ana had gotten into a big fight with her mother and left home early, finding refuge on a friends couch. It was the pair of friends who decided that Ana needed a bit of a makeover, to stop showing everyone how innocent and naive she was. So, after a shopping trip, a trip to the salon, and a nickname change: Ana, now Stassi, was feeling really good. Of course, she was still her nerdy self, but if people couldn’t see that by how she looked, maybe they’d leave her alone. Stassi was walking out of her sorority house when she saw him, and of course, he was looking right at her. “I thought you were gone... Thanks for telling me, by the way.” Of course she was mad, even if they weren’t together anymore, there were still some lingering feelings and the fact that he’d left without a word, it had hurt her. Maybe it was part of the reason she needed the change..

Ana turned when the other spoke, her face breaking out into a bright smile. “Kentucky is right, Louisville if we’re bein’ specific.” She giggled. “What about you? It’s Texas isn’t it?”

“Well get used to seeing them more, because they are my favourite thing to eat.” Carter said with a laugh, taking a bite of his food and nodding to himself. “Well, I wasn’t originally going to come here, but she made it sound so great, and you know us, we’re family people, I missed her.” He shrugged. They had always been a tight-knit family, and being away from his sister had sucked more than he wanted to admit. “Besides fiddle around with a song I wrote last night, not a single plan in the world.” He said with a shrug. “Oh hell yeah, I’d love to help, you know I love that stuff.”

“So you’re telling me out of all the foods you could have chosen, you chose hot dogs as your favorite” alfie teased, he didn’t think hot dogs were exactly awful but there were at least 200 other foods he would list as his favorite before any type of sausage. “Trust me I know, even when you weren’t around she wouldn’t shut up about how much she missed you—not that I blame her though, you’re an easy guy to miss” it’d be a lie for alfie to say that getting to know carter wasn’t one of the better things that came out of his ‘relationship’ with Celine, the two always seemed to get along and honestly it was like having another brother. “I know you love it, that’s why I asked you to help” alfie chuckled, taking another bite of his burger before continuing. ‘What’s this new song you’re working on? Something personal or something for a class?”
