But like. Okay. I know this is kind of a hot take, but. The thing is, Chase and Foreman really don't have a relationship on the show. Of any kind. They interact much less than any other combination of the original team; they have no dedicated subplots until more than halfway through the show.
Look at, say, Foreman and Cameron. They have loads of one-on-one scenes, where they discuss their beliefs and personal lives and views on religion. Foreman is protective of her when she and House are going on their date; in S2's Sleeping Dogs Lie and Euphoria they have dedicated subplots as they have a falling out, as Foreman gets sick, etc. Compare this to Foreman and Chase: they very rarely have personal/non work or non third person conversations (ie, they talk about Cameron or House, but not one another). In Forever, both House and Cameron react to and are involved in Foreman's personality swap; Chase alone ventures no opinion. You could say, well, he's busy with his own stuff, but that's my point -- Chase's reaction and feelings about Foreman aren't considered important by the show itself, something that needs focusing on.
The same goes the other way. When Chase is fired in S3, Foreman doesn't blink or react. When Chase's father is around, Cameron and House react, but Foreman doesn't say a word. The show doesn't consider their relationship important. It doesn't really exist.
Every now and then, Foreman does use Chase as a sounding board, but that's about the extent of it (aside from all the times they insult one another). It isn't until S6 and Dibala that they have any kind of "shared" plot, although the plot is much more about Chase and Cameron, and Foreman spends most of his time more worried about Thirteen. They have one shared subplot episode in S7. Foreman doesn't even stop to visit Chase's hospital bed in S8.
Do they have opinions about one another? Yes! A relationship? Sure! But time and time again, the show prioritizes every other relationship above this one. Foreman has known Chase for six years, but Chase confides in and opens up to Thirteen about his divorce; Foreman and Taub move in together but we only ever hear of Chase and Foreman socializing out of work one time without Cameron or money being involved. It isn't a relationship the show develops or cares about! And that's fine! That doesn't mean fans can't or shouldn't fill in those gaps and have fun with it. But like. IDK. The way people talk about them sometimes, like they're so close or have some kind of relationship or are involved -- it's just like, IDK man. Since when?
