Angela would often spend whatever free time she was allowed by her busy schedule at the chapel. This particular sect was the Cult of Doomsday, one that she had more or less overthrown as of late. Given the radical nature of the order, it was rare that the angel had ever witnessed anyone new or unfamiliar whilst perusing the grounds under disguise.
As such, she was very surprised and taken off guard to witness a seemingly strange face enter the church to pray. There was no question about it. Angela would have to investigate further. She had to make sure that her mission and its inhabitants were protected, at least until the right time.
Drawing closer to Paula, the inquisitive angel took a seat beside the maid on the rigid, uncomfortable pew seat.
“If you are pure of soul, your prayers shall be answered.”
Someone was next to her. She felt a presence that was obviously of a higher being. Someone who didn’t belong on Earth, yet surely not in Heaven either. But it belonged to an angel. A breathtaking one. Paula faced the other, eyes wide before she blushed slightly.
‘ I had heard rumors of angels wandering around here. I’ve visited a few times, but I never expected to be lucky enough to meet one... ‘
A whisper, then a kind smile, staring at the woman before her. So beautiful. So sinister.
‘ B-But I am simply wishing the family that I work for has a safe trip. The young lady doesn’t enjoy being on ships for very long. ‘
Her words just slipped from her, the words pouring out before she could stop them. The servant felt so at ease with the other, her entire body leaning in towards Angela.
‘ A-Ah! Where are my manners? My name is Paula. It’s an honor to meet you! ‘
