captain janeway is just so important to me?? here is this woman who is thrown into such impossible conditions, who watches everything she’s ever known and loved disappear in an instant—who stands up at the end of everything and declares a new beginning. here is this woman tasked to lead a crew that doesn’t want her, who earns their respect because she’s smart and compassionate and capable. here is this woman who loses hope and finds it again, who falls and fails and questions and ultimately triumphs because she’s strong enough to pick herself and every member of her crew up again when they shatter. she’s powerful and intimidating and soft and authentic. she never compromises when it matters, and she finds her way home because she has the resolve to cut a path for herself and the people she loves, because she fights tooth and nail for every inch of it. captain janeway, guys.
