“No, I meant like putting some kind of block in your mind so they can’t see what we’re doing.” Then again, April wasn’t sure she wanted anyone on her side to know what they were doing yet either.
Andrea shrugged. “If they encounter a block they’ll just get more suspicious. I doubt we’d be able to find someone strong enough to put on in place that an Original couldn’t break.” She sighed. “But it’ll be okay.”

‘’It’s as easy or difficult as you make it.’’ Natalie said, a little on the colder, blunt side. ‘’Had I chosen a different side, wouldn’t have that made everything more difficult than it already is?”
“I’m a big believer in everyone being where they need to be. Everything has a purpose even if we don’t know why.”

April furrowed her brow as she thought about that complication. If they found out that they were meeting then things were sure to be bad for Andrea. “Would one of hybrids or second gen be able to help you out? I don’t want you getting in trouble.”
Andrea chewed her lip. “I really don’t want to pull too many more into this thing.” It was one thing to use them in the experiments. That gave them plausible deniability. But including others in the whole plan was too dangerous, too many mouths to say the wrong thing.

Natalie chuckled, taking a sip of her drink. ‘’I used to have that romanticized outlook, too.’’ She shook her head. ‘’Until I didn’t anymore and things became much easier.’’
Andrea snorted. “Life is never easy, no matter what your outlook.” She had discovered that lesson the hard way. “But I suppose if it makes things easier, there’s no harm in it.”

“And you think you’d be able to get away with that?” April didn’t need to tell Andrea how she felt. She would rather it be her that Andrea tested it on but she knew there would be no way to convince her to do that. “The Originals will be ok with you potentially prolonging the life of humans for the sake of science?”
“Yes.” Vincent had already helped her in the right direction. “They are willing to help. I’m not sure how pleased they will be to learn that I’m sharing this information though.” She almost shuddered to think of what would happen if they discovered she was exchanging information with April.

“Really?” April’s excitement shot through the roof. She had always thought it was a long stretch to be able to slow her aging down but if anyone was going to pull it off it was going to be Andrea.
“That’s amazing.” She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “But how will you be able to test it out?”
Andrea chewed her lip. “I’ll experiment with the lab rats first then we should be able to move human testing.” She was sure April wasn’t going to like what she was about to say next, but she believed in honesty. “There is no shortage of human subjects that the humans could gather. I’d only need a handful though. To test if it diminishes the rate of cellular death or not.”

Right. But things don’t work unless you’re a queen, so I better look out for myself instead. I would always suggest, you do the same.
Things don’t have to be that way. Even if you don’t believe in love for whatever reason it doesn’t mean you are on your own.

‘’Love?” Natalie snorted. ‘’You should not be questioning why you’re single at all. It’s probably the best damn thing that could happen to you.’’

“Nope, its about the same a few people seem to have better control but nothing more. I guess that’s a good thing if it means we won’t be getting anymore surprises.” Of course April wished they could develop some other useful powers like the Second Gen did but at least their powers couldn’t be blocked.
“How’s the other thing going?” She finally got to the question that was nagging at her as they stopped in an area that wasn’t frequently used. The two of them should be able to have privacy there.
“Unless you happen across an new one.” Andrea couldn’t help but wonder how many others were out there. The Originals have been living side by side with humanity for thousands of years. Why were they only coming to the surface now? Or had other enhanced humans been discovered and hidden?
Andrea’s train of thought was derailed by April’s next question. She rubbed her hands together nervously. “Yeah, that.” Vincent had worked with her on the secret to extending human life but giving it over to his enemy was difficult for her. “I think we’ve figured it out.”

Agreed. Although blind anything is dangerous. Faith, loyalty, even love. I like variables that can be tested and proven. Probably why I’m still single.

“We’ll see.” April would let Elizabeth decide what to do with them, as long as they steered clear of her house.
“Have you had any new developments with your powers?” There was another question on April’s mind but she was still a little too nervous to hear the answer to it. Andrea was her only hope at a chance of fixing the aging issue that she and Ryan faced.
“No. I’ve pretty much leveled out. Sometimes I can feel a little more power, but it doesn’t take long to get myself back in control of it.” Being so close with the Originals, she was still mutating so Andrea kept a close eye on herself.
“How about you? Anything new with your fire or anyone else’s in the group?” There were a few enhanced humans that joined the Resistance. Andrea trusted April helped them as she could to understand their new abilities.
