It's a floating world. I guess it's fitting that a painting that started out as a long delayed response to the last local disaster, hurricane Sandy, turned out to be such a big help dealing with all the uncertainty, fear, and anxiety of the last year. Building it up slowly, when I could get to it, through all the lockdown days was the best kind of therapy. It's been a little over a year since nyc closed all It's schools. Now as schools start to reopen its still hard to envision an auditorium filled with people.
