"No! I will not leave you!" Lee cried, his stance determined even as his eyes were filled with hurt, "you are my special person! I swore to always love you, and that is what I am going to do!"
Lee gasped as he was suddenly pushed against a tree. He looked up at his lover, suddenly feeling small again. It was a feeling he had always liked, but right now, it made him feel frustrated.
"Fool…" Itachi whispered, his tone soft and sad for Lee, even though his actions hadn’t been "you know I’m dying…you’re just breaking your own heart…"
"Then let me do that! It is my heart and-!" Lee cut himself off and he raised his arms, grabbing onto Itachi’s cloak, "and it will always belong to you. With you."
Itachi raised his right hand to rest on the tree and his left hand rose to grasp Lee’s. He bowed his head and released an almost painful yet loving sigh.
"Lee…" Itachi whispered, "why can’t I deny you anything…?" He smiled a little sadly yet looked as if he might laugh.
Lee looked up at Itachi in surprise and waited anxiously. His heart squeezed as he longed to hear Itachi accept that he would never give up.
"You can deny me all you want, Ita-koi. I am just never going to stop loving you with all I have." Lee smiled brightly at the older Uchiha, then he giggled, "the fire of youth within me is too strong to hold back!"
Itachi chuckled. He closed his eyes as leaned down and gently pressed his forehead to Lee’s then said, “and I would never change that.”
Lee made a happy noise and moved a little closer to Itachi. He clung to Itachi's cloak and the hand that was still on his own and said, "I love you, so very much."
Itachi opened his eyes again and smiled handsomely. He tilted Lee’s head up with the hand that had been on the tree. He looked at Lee as if Lee was the most precious thing on earth.
"I love you more." Itachi whispered before pressing his lips against Lee’s.
