“You realize how that makes you sound, right,” Andre asked, head tilted and eyebrow quirked. Maybe it was a case of being unable to imagine how the other side lived but something about Hayden’s words rubbed him the wrong way. “I mean, you’ve got money. That’s cool. No one’s faulting you for that and there’s no reason to be embarrassed by it. Your dads worked for it, but doesn’t mean you have to sound like such a pampered princess. It’s actually kind of bitchy.” He’d had enough love to last a lifetime. His upbringing had been strict and, in many ways, different than most: they’d moved around a lot and his father had insisted on well mannered, responsible children, but he’d never had need to doubt the fact that his parents loved him. “It wouldn’t be catering to anyone if you acted a little less high and mighty, but hey, your life. Not mine.”
