Hey there, I'm doing a Guzma cosplay and my last piece I'm missing is the wig, I've been completely hung up on finding their right style! Most of my cosplays I've done haven't involved wigs before so I'm new to the whole styling aspect of them. Your Guzma hair looked great! Would you be able to tell me where you got the wig and if it needed extra styling?

Hello! I was wondering if I could ask you a couple of questions about your Guzma cosplay. 1: How did you do the decals for your jacket? 2: where did you get your pants?

I got the decals commissioned, I answered that in another ask it’s on the first page of my blog.

And I made the pants! I sewed everything except the tank top. :>

Hello followers, new and old! I am hoping to get this blog to be more active, but we shall see how much extra money i have this year to spend on costumes. I don't really have much planned right now aside from Guzma and updating my Purple Guy.. but we will see if there are any new characters to obsess over before the year is up. I am almost done with Guzma, I just have to iron on the decals on his jacket and pants.. and I'll be posting pictures here once complete. I'm also having a photoshoot with my friend at PAX South, so there will be some quality photos of Guzma and a Skull Grunt to look forward to. Stay tuned! <3

tbh though pretty proud of myself with this one. Sewed the pants and hoodie in about 3 days (had to work or would’ve got it done sooner)

First time sewing a zipper in too whoooo and got those sleeve seams lookin nice B)

Patterns, refs, and more+

So this con season I made myself Pidge and a Shiro paladin costumes to wear, with pretty good results. The worst part of it though was the amount of time I spent drafting patterns, so I figured this might be a good resource for anyone else looking to make armor in the future.

This is all based on my measurements (a 5′1″ average-ish build with… bigger thighs), so you’ll likely need to make adjustments to have this fit yourself, but hopefully this makes building your own cosplay a little easier. Materials, patterns and everything under the cut. Hope it helps!

Foam Wig Tutorial

I wanted to remake my Rhys wig in a way that would compliment the cel shaded style of Borderlands, rather than fight it the way wig hair does. While I was moderately happy with how my first wig turned out, it still wasn’t what I was going for:

It’s fiiiine I guesssss, but it looks sloppy, it didn’t fit quite right, and it’s not as stylized and chunky as the rest of my cosplay.

I turned to the internet, but I found surprisingly little about making wigs out of foam. I know it happens all the time. But why was there no tutorial?? So I winged it (wung it? no), and now I’ll share what I think was a successful experiment with you all. At the very least, I think it makes a good starting point.

You will need:

Wig cap

Cling wrap

Masking tape

A sharpie

Wig head

Scissors

2mm craft foam

Foam for the hair (I used more craft foam)

Hot glue (a lot of it)

Modge Podge

Acrylic paint

Here we go:
