A Guide to Katie Forsythe's Sherlock Holmes Fics
Since my public service post got a lot of notes (thank you guys!), here is another one I hope you will find useful: it is the guide to Katie’s Canon Sherlock Holmes fics written by the author herself and eventfully retrieved from her deleted lj Find your way through her awesome production!
Find all of her stories listed below here.
STAND- ALONES: An April’s Journey: NC-17, REIG. Watson learns Holmes has fallen ill in France, and for another reason than simple exhaustion. War Crimes: PG, LAST. Watson, to Holmes’ considerable dismay, volunteers for WWI. That Which Gives Extras: NC-17, NAVA. Blackmail and misunderstandings abound when Holmes solves a case for one of Watson’s former lovers, Percy Phelps. The Three Favours: PG, NORW. Holmes is back from the dead and Watson isn’t having it, not even when Holmes sends him thrice-daily telegrams and ensnares him in a new murder case. The Conductor of Light: R, 3GAR and ILLU. When each face subsequent life-threatening attacks, Holmes and Watson begin a series of ill-conceived and mutual deceptions. Undiscovered Country: NC-17, DYIN. Culverton Smith’s poison box fells the wrong victim. Some Further Notes on the Roylott Matter: PG, SPEC. My first attempt at Holmes POV…in which Sherlock Holmes is not, by no means, why should you think such a thing?, afraid of snakes. Splendid Night: R, CHAS. Holmes and Watson battle the Master Blackmailer, with some surprising revelations along the way. The Measure of Happiness: PG-13. Holmes has a casual liaison with Inspector Hopkins. Is it better to have a piece of the man you love than nothing at all? The Greek Lesson: NC-17, GREE. The only way to teach Sherlock Holmes that keeping him whole is the work of two men and not one. Thoughts Without Words: PG, SCAN. In which Sherlock Holmes declares his affections, Irene Adler falls in love with a man she can never have, and John Watson learns to speak the violin. Softly and Suddenly: NC-17, STOC. Holmes enacts a terrible revenge on Watson for marrying. Twelfth Night: NC-17, VALL. A parody of Forsythian schmangst: how to explain to Holmes that he is in fact homosexual, the effects of alcohol on Watson, and things that make ineffective lubricants. These collections need not necessarily be read in order, but they are separate universes. HOPE: The Sign of Change: NC-17, SIGN. My first attempt, so not typical of the collection. Holmes and Watson have an amorous encounter before Watson’s marriage, which Watson nevertheless pursues, and they deal with the aftermath. Cauldron: A Love Letter: PG-13, FINA and EMPT. Sherlock Holmes dies, returns from the dead, and fights to get his Watson back. FAITH: The Morning After: NC-17, HOUN. It takes longer than a single night to begin a relationship, and the consequences of throwing Sherlock Holmes into a pile of hay. Full of Grace: PG-13, SOLI. Oscar Wilde’s incarceration, a wedding celebration for Violet Smith, and a pair of dancing men. A Man of Questionable Morals: NC-17, WIST and DEVI. The harrowing aftereffects of Devil’s Foot Root poisoning, and how far Sherlock Holmes would go to keep John Watson safe. LOVE: Four Minor Interludes for the Solo Violin:NC-17, REDH. Wounded and traumatized by the Afghan War, John Watson falls in love with a detective who is also a remarkable violinist. Hallowed Be Thy Name: NC-17, YELL and FIVE. The death of the Holmes patriarch nearly ruins the younger sibling, who was badly abused as a child. The Violet Elephant: PG, NOBL. Inspector Lestrade learns a secret about Sherlock Holmes. Birds to a Lighthouse: extremely NC-17, CARD. Every story has a Reichenbach, and this is theirs: what did James Moriarty do to cause Holmes to abandon his family for three years? The Lucky One: PG, SIXN. Love is rare, but so are friendships, and men the caliber of Inspector Lestrade. The Presbury Letters: PG-13, CREE. Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft Holmes, and John Watson battle to survive the Great War. A Hymn to the Endlessly Falling: R, SHOS. In 1927, a funeral, a wedding, and Sherlock Holmes teach John Watson how to let go.

SO CUTE
Sherlock and Faith’s bench
I previously posted about Sherlock looking right at the London Aquarium when he talks about how ‘your life is not your own’. I went down to the river today…
So here we have our #suicidechips chaps:
I found the spot (seen from ground level)
And here’s Sherlock giving his little ‘Choose life’ speech:
So then I stood exactly where Sherlock was and took a photo of what he was looking at:
Just visible in the far distance (above) is one of the blue banners at the entrance of the London Aquarium. Spot the pink light in the picture…
The picture below shows the actual location.
So Sherlock is looking directly at the spot where Mary got fridged died for him when he’s talking through his thoughts on the value of life.
damn 😭💔 i hate them
This is lovely, thanks for your work! They also cut briefly to a shot of the London Aquarium entrance during Sherlock’s breakdown in this scene, followed by a smoking gun. So it’s definitely no coincidence – they want us to know that Sherlock is thinking about Mary.
