Park Jinju (hangul: 박 진주시; born November 7th, 2003), known professionally by her stage name Pearl, is a fictional South Korean dancer, rapper, producer and songwriter. She made her debut on December 7th, 2022 as a member of the co-ed group &Team under HYBE Labels Japan.

Announcement (A/N)

I've realized over time that, for some reason, I have a hard time writing for this Xikers OC. I am very sorry to those who were expecting Xikers content here but I am announcing that this will change from a Xikers OC to a &Team OC.

So, over the next week or so, I will be changing this to a &Team OC. I, again, apologize to the people that were here for Xikers. I am contemplating on making another OC for Xikers once I get more time to write. Sadly I've realized pretty late that this character doesn't fit the group. I hope you can understand.

Pearl's Dorm Room

[Dorm Room]

Pearl has a solo room in the dorm with Jinsik and Yujun. Her room holds a bed, a desk and a big mirror alongside some guitars. She rarely spends time in her room since the group is always hanging out together or she is out at the gym or going for a jog. Her room is the cleanest in her dorm and smells nice. She also has many pictures of her friends, family and members on her walls. There is one corner of her room that is filled with the housing for her birds and snakes. She has a lot of plants that are thriving, and she absolutely loves them. Her room also has workout equipment all over it, since she likes to workout but isn't a big fan of the gym.

Pearl has six piercings and four tattoos.

Pearl got her lobe piercings in 2019. Her helix piercings followed in 2021. For now, there have not been more piercings, but Pearl mentioned that she wants more.

In earl 2022 Pearl got her belly button pierced. This was revealed to the fans two months after her debut. Surprisingly the backlash wasn’t as bad as Pearl had expected.

In September 2023 Pearl got her tongue pierced. This did cause more backlash then her belly button piercing but still nothing too bad.

When Pearl was 10 years old she partially broke her neck. Gladly she was able to recover fully. But, in November 2021 she got her first tattoo parallel to her scar there. It reads ‘everything happens for a reason’.

This piercing was done in early December of 2021. It is a snake wrapping around her ear shell.

This is Pearl’s third tattoo, and it was done in mid-2022. It is placed underneath her ribs on the left side of her ribcage. It is a butterfly and the quote ‘set yourself free’.

Pearl's Pets

Pearl owns four birds and two snakes. They live with her family near the dorm, but she is planning on taking them to the dorm with her. The fans have already seen them on the social medias from &Team.

D'Or

D’Or is a small ball python and Pearl adopted her in late 2020 out of a shelter. She was already a year old and by 2023 she is 4 years old. She is neither poisonous nor dangerous in any other way. Her name means ‘golden’ in french.

Raven

Raven is a bit bigger than D’Or. She is calm and peaceful even when eating. Pearl got her in late 2021 and is very happy about getting her. Raven is even a bit cuddly and by 2023 6 years old.

Skye & Comet

Skye and Comet are a budgie pair. They are in love, your honor. Pearl adopted them in early 2022. They are inseparable and were Pearl’s first birds. They are very cuddly. In 2023 they are one and a half years old.

Celeste

Celeste is the third budgie that Pearl owns. She got the pink bird in late 2022 together with Jade. Celeste is a lot less cuddly. Instead, Pearl is teaching Celeste and Jade tricks, which works incredibly well. By 2023 she is one year old.

Jade

Jade was adopted alongside Celeste in late 2022. She is witty and likes to learn new tricks from Pearl. She also likes to cuddle but it more independent. By 2023 she is one year old.

[Parents – Park Hayun & Park Junseo]

Park Hayun, Pearl’s mother, was born 1977 in Changwon, South Korea. She grew up as an only child and within a healthy household. She did well in school but had no interest in studying. Therefore, she got a in a law firm as a secretary.

Park Junseo, Pearl’s father, was born in 1976 in Gyeongju, South Korea. He grew up with two older brothers and did alright in school. He got his first job in a manufacturing company.

In 1997 the two met, because Junseo and a few of his colleagues sued his company for mistreatment. Just a couple weeks later the two started dating and going out together. Junseo got a new job in a different company, after successfully suing his old workplace. They became really close quite quickly and soon met each other’s parents, getting along well with them. They were together for only three years when, in 2000, they married and moved to Namyangju, Gyeonggi.

In 2002 their first child, Park Sunghoon, was born. Barely a year later their second child, Park Jinju, was born. From then on life went well for the little family and Junseo was promoted into a leading position in his company. In 2007 their last child, Park Yeji, was born.

Their oldest child, Sunghoon, started a figure skating career from a very young age on, which was supported by both Junseo and Hayun. When Sunghoon and Jinju expressed the interest of becoming Kpop trainees, of course, they were worried. However, they still supported them through everything and will continue to do so. Whatever Yeji chooses for herself, she will receive the same support as her older siblings.

The family has lived a comfortable life. They aren’t rich by any means, but they had enough. Jinju never had to fear for food or bus tickets; she always had enough. Her parent’s financial support has been the main reason she could pursue this career, and she will forever be grateful for that.

[Siblings – Park Sunghoon & Park Yeji]

Park Sunghoon was born 2002 in Namyangju, Gyeonggi, South Korea. He has always been athletic and eventually, with only eight years old, he started his figure skating career in 2010. In 2018 he began his trainee period, before becoming a Kpop idol in 2020.

Park Yeji, Pearl’s younger sister, was born in 2007 in Namyangju as well. She is a good student and is quite athletic herself. She has no plans regarding fame or any special careers. She would like to study cultural studies, but her future is quite uncertain overall.

Pearl gets along with her siblings very well. She used to train ice skating with her brother but never for the sake of competing with him. They actually just did it for fun. She loved to play basketball and volleyball with Yeji and compete against her siblings in running.

When Sunghoon eventually joined BigHit and participated in I-Land, she was always watching and cheering him on. He really inspired her to join Hybe as well, but she would never admit this out loud. He was the first person she went to when she found out she would debut.

Yeji and Pearl are incredibly close. Pearl loves her younger sister and never fails to make time for her within her busy schedule. She meets Yeji more than Sunghoon does, something she loves to brag about. But the three of them meet up at least once a month and thankfully, Pearl and Sunghoon still get to hang out together quite often.
