rudy had just finished a run around the grounds of the school, finishing at the quidditch pitch, in a terrible mood. halfway through his run it had begun to downpour and he wiped some sweat and water from his brow. having taken up running to divert his bad habit, there was nothing more he wanted then to roll a cigarette and light it after such a dreary afternoon and his skin now cold and clothes damp.
he glanced around the pitch, seeing as running wasn’t working for him, he felt the urge to fly. he looked around, not being able to see anyone began to walk towards the shed where they kept spare brooms; knowing very well he wasn’t supposed to fly without letting someone know or supervision, and knowing that there could be consequences if he was caught he walked towards the shed anyways, opening the door. even if he didn’t fly the shed would offer some shelter from the rain.
rudy examined the brooms, inwardly scoffing at the quality, they were after all spares. he ran his hand along one when he heard the door creak open and light shine into the shed, quickly drawing his hand back and spinning around.
“just looking.” he said automatically.
Andy almost felt dumb. Almost. Who, in their right mind, went out when they saw the sky was already threatening to make the day the most awful one in weeks? Andrew did. It felt like a good idea to see there weren’t any first years stranded outside, under trees, or hidden elsewhere; something she used to do a lot herself in the past... when she resembled more a lost rabbit than a little girl.
It wasn’t that long before she saw the Quidditch pitch and decided to inspect the place. There weren’t many places to hide there, but she could distinctively remember having once made it under the drapes of the bleachers without going all the way up, so she couldn’t discard the possibility without checking first. It took her more than she would’ve wanted, clothes soon stained with mud and the grass that stuck to her with each step. She was already soaked when she saw the doors to the shed open, and decided to go inspect it before giving up and returning to the castle.
A Longbottom. She was about to say something when he cut her off without even looking at her. It had to be Rudolph. “I should probably report this, but since it’s pouring outside and I came looking for people hiding from the bad weather, I’ll let it go. Why exactly did you decide to come in here?”
