“I am completely stumped, if I’m being frank with you,” she huffed as she tossed down her napkin and looked at the unfortunate soul that got saddled with sitting next to her for dinner when she was in one of these moods. Andréa looked down at the sudoku puzzle she had been working on while eating, “I was pretty sure I had this down pat, the forst four were a synch, but I can’t figure this one out. You look like an attractive yet intelligent man, perhaps you can help me?”

Valentine’s Day Open Starter:

Andréa had tried to avoid drinking any alcohol, but a girl could only handle so much water and small talk before having something stronger was necessary. So she started with one mimosa and she nursed it for a while. Then one turned into two. And when she finished that second one she started feeling weird. Light headed. When she stood up she felt like the room was spinning. So she sat at the table for as long as she could, having half of a third mimosa against her better judgement. Her brother would be lecturing her on her alcohol intake if he was around. Which he wasn’t, so she listened to his voice in her head instead. The Ibrahim in her head was much stricter than the Ibrahim in real life. The one in her head told her to stop drinking and step out into the hall for air. That was the one she listened to. The Lebanese princess stood from the table and carefully made her way out into the hall, fanning herself as she leaned against the wall. “Was it hot in there or was it just me?” She asked when she felt someone come stand next to her.

Valentine’s Day, well Nicolas had never been much of a romantic, but he had always been a flirt. The way he saw it, the holiday was the perfect opportunity to charm all the ladies who had no one. Because after all, who didn’t want to feel special? He was well aware that he was betrothed, but he didn’t give a damn, it changed nothing for him. And he was also one for a party, even if this one was being disguised as a brunch. Lucky for him to have packed the pink suit, he was never afraid of a bold statement and he knew he pulled the color off well. 

At brunch he was all smiles and charming words as he moved from conversation to conversation. He ate more than he should have, unable to turn down any of the delicious food. And he had already lost count of the amount of mimosas in his system. He was aware of the strange buzz, though he chalked it up to the combination of drinks and the medication he regularly took. He couldn’t deny he felt a little on edge, ready to snap at any given moment. It was a precarious edge, somewhere between flirtatious and paranoid about everything going on around him. 

Soon enough it became a little too crowded in the dining room, and so he excused himself and made his way out into the hall, a drink still in his hand. He let out a sigh, relaxing back against the wall even as he lifted his drink to take a large swig. It was then he caught the movement out of the corner of his eye and he looked up, a smile already rising to his lips. “Quite a party going on in there huh?” He hadn’t missed the people leaning close together to whisper and giggle to each other, the people brushing purposefully against each other, it was a lot more relaxed than he had ever seen before.

Andréa enjoyed socializing to a point. She was always down to smile and enjoy pleasant small talk before it got suffocating and she would inevitably need space to breathe. She was betrothed, but it didn’t stop her from enjoying the presence of men or women, she was a flirt to her core. She had yet to meet her betrothed in person. She only knew that he was some Crown Prince from Romania. She was informed of her betrothal by her parents and then shipped off to the fortress in the cold tundra of hell that seemed to encompass all of Russia. While it was cold outside it didn’t stop her from doing what she did best. Showing off her assets. She had never been the princess that hid anything she had to offer, much to her ladies’ dismay.

Even for the brunch she wanted to turn heads. She had to go with red or pink. Personally she felt Red was more her color than Pink so she with with a deep burgundy dress that clung to her body with a daring neckline that exposed an ample amount of cleavage. Daring, but still tasteful. Her dark hair hung down her back in its natural wavy state. Her makeup was light with her trademark red lips. When the crowd inside became too much, especially as the other royals got increasingly more intoxicated Andréa made her graceful exit. She had taken the mimosa she was nursing out into the hall with her and found herself leaning against a wall next to a tall male in a pink suit. He pulled it off well. She hid her smile as she raised her drink to her lips and sipped from her glass, “quite a party, indeed,” she said with a soft laugh. “Are you hiding from the masses or did you just need air?” She asked curiously

She had gotten plenty of stares that day. Whether it was because she was who she was or because of the dress she had dared to wear for the occasion Sarika couldn’t say though because no one had yet to make a comment either way. It seemed the alcohol was working its magic in other ways than the superficial. Still, Sarika had been making hints that she wanted someone to compliment what she was wearing, to let her know that she still looked good despite the lack of elegance that went into her wardrobe choices, and she had been highly disappointed through the whole brunch.

Head swimming at the moment, the Hungarian turned to the person next to her and sighed loudly. Andy was someone she knew from before this whole mess that was being disguised as protecting them and it was nice to now see the girl mingling between the Royals on a daily basis now. It seemed for some reason they had kept missing each other since the other girl’s arrival but the fates had them sitting together during this lovely brunch and Sarika wasn’t about to squander the opportunity to catch up. If only she could get the room to stop spinning then today would have been perfect. “Do you like my dress?” Why was that the first thing to pop out of her mouth? Usually she didn’t give a damn what people thought about her or her appearance and now she was fishing for compliments. “I feel like you would know if it was a good choice or not. You always seem so well dressed.”

At this point Andy was so homesick she could barely stand it. She missed her parents. She missed her brother. She missed her friends. She missed Lebanon. The idea of the brunch had been well thought out and a great way for connections to be made, but Andréa found herself sitting at a table with a full glass of champagne she hadn’t even sipped from and a barely half-eaten plate of food. Her hair was done nicely and her makeup was light except for her red lips that matched nicely to the deep burgundy dress she wore that hugged her figure. The loud sigh to her left shook her out of her thoughts and she turned her head, her dark hazel hues landing on a familiar Hungarian princess. She hadn’t seen her since she came to the fortress, it was nice to be in the company of an old friend. Sarika looked stunning, as always, at least in her eyes. Andréa blinked at the sudden question before nodding with a smile, “you look absolutely stunning, Rika,” she responded affectionately. “The dress color really brings out the beautiful blue of your eyes,” she stated. She waved off the comment about her own wardrobe, “I just know what I like to wear and what looks good on me,” she said with the smile still on her features. “How have you been?”

She missed Lebanon. She missed the warm weather. Andréa was not built for snow or cold weather. That’s what had her entering this quiant little bookstore, just to get away from the bone chilling weather. Her thick, dark hair cascaded down her back as her fingers slid along the spines of books on the bookstack in front of her, wanting to find something to read and pass the time. She faintly heard something spoke to her in Russian, which she barely understood the language, and then a soft tapping on her shoulder. Her brows were knit together as she turned and she smiled an apologetic smile, “I’m sorry, I wish I did know. I’m mostly in here to wait out the storm,” she said and bit her bottom lip gently, “however you might find something in that stack over there, sir,” she motioned to the book shelf to the right of her.

“ Yes, the weather did change rather quickly didn’t it.” His eyes moved towards the stack of books that she pointed to. Davut smiled thankfully as he reached for one of the few that had English writing on the spine. A selective collection of poems by Robert Frost. Yeah, he put that one back. He probably should have tried the castle library first. But he was so bored, all he  really wanted to do was get out. Even if it meant bracing the cold. Davut open another book before looking back towards the woman in front of him. She had a nice smile, “ Perhaps you can still help me.”  he added nodding towards the books to her left. “ I’m looking for any kind of history of this area or even a map. I’d be more then willing to treat you to a hot drink as a thank you.”

She had turned her attention back to whatever she was looking at when he went to search those books and found herself startled when he started speaking again. Andréa hummed lightly as she turned back towards him, her eyes flicked over to the stack of books on her left, “something hot or something alcoholic, I won’t say no to either,” she said with a smile and a nod before moving over to the stack of books he pointed to. A lot of them were in Russian, she really needed to learn the language. She started with the ones in English first, finding one on the history of the town and smiled triumphantly. “Aha! I come back victorious,” she stated as she moved back over to him and held the book out to him, “I hope it helps you, and now it seems you owe me a beverage of some sort for all my trouble,” she teased lightly.

The castle was boring. Everything was just boring and she felt restless. Wandering around late at night probably wasn’t the best idea in the world, but it was better than just lying in her bed and staring at a ceiling waiting for insomnia to give up on her. Andréa wrapped her jacket around herself tighter as she wandered the grounds, she didn’t trust going into town at the middle of the night, but she hoped that walking around would tire her out enough for her to sleep. Amidst her thoughts and her walking her hues spotted another figure in the distance. Another late night wanderer. She chewed on her bottom lip as she walked closer to them and rested her gloved hands on the snow covered railing, “can’t sleep either?” She asked curiously once she got the courage to speak and interrupt the quietness of the night.

‘Lying low’ seemed like the wrong term for what Katrien was doing. Avoiding the people from her past that she’d rather not run into didn’t mean she was hiding. Just that… yeah, she was definitely hiding. Which is how she found herself in the cinema in the middle of the day. 

She was trying to decide what on Earth she wanted to watch, when someone else walked in. Despite the fact that she had come here to avoid people, she turned to them with a bright smile- no sense in taking her bad mood out on others. “You’re just in time! I’m trying to choose a film. Want to join me?”

Andréa was bored. In an intense way. She just wanted something to do. Anything. And she felt as if she would get lost if she wandered around anywhere. However, that didn’t stop her from wandering around town and walking up to the cinema. Dark hazel hues widened when the blonde standing there turned to her suddenly. A smile tugged at her lips and she nodded, “actually, that sounds like a delightful idea,” she admitted with a simple shrug. She looked at the options, “what are your top three choices? We’ll pick from that?”

 The Bronte’s Bookshop

He bristled, stepping into the warm store. Brushing the reminates of snow  off of his shoulders;  near the door. Hazel eyes roamed the quiet shop, he supposed this was better then roaming the castle all day long. While he was still trying to adjust to his new life in the castle. He had become bored rather quickly on the grounds. Good thing he was able to go down to the village and explore for a little while. However, it was cold and soon the Turkish advisor found himself in need of refuge from the bitter bite of winter. He had happened upon the bookshop easily enough. So here he was, chilled to the bone. He quietly made his way towards one of the book shelves, removing his gloves stuffing them in his pocket. Their back was facing him, but Davut hoped that maybe they were either a regular patron of the shop or a worker. 

“Извините, пожалуйста,” he said quietly. Tapping the person on the shoulder, “ Would you know if there are any books on this region or perhaps the villiage it’s self?”

Andréa is the youngest of two children. Her older brother is the crown prince and heir to the throne. She doesn’t envy his position in all honesty. Being just a princess had its perks.

Andréa never wanted to get married. She knew it was part of her duties to do as a princess. Get married off to some pompous crown prince and make babies. But she didn’t feel like that was her. Thus her disdain for the fact that before she was shipped off she was told by her parents that she was betrothed to some Romanian crown prince.

Andréa regularly misses her brother. He was her favorite person. She loved being able to be in attendance at his wedding. He seemed very in love with the princess he married and she was so happy for him. She knew he would be a great ruler some day.

She exudes confidence and she isn’t one to shy away from any sort of challenge.

She never wanted to be a damsel in distress and she turned her body into a weapon. She had taken it upon herself to have a couple castle guards in Lebanon teach her how to defend herself. She actively trains to keep her muscles and skills hones for such a purpose.

Flirting is defense mechanism #1 for her. Its become more intense since she was informed of her betrothal. She hated that she never got to pick the person she was to be married to. What if she and this prince never got along?

She has a hot temper and a short fuse, more or less to do with her mexican and lebanese blood. The latina in her flares up easily.

She loves to cook. It is where she finds solace and is able to get out of her head.
