Pim had unashamedly had multiple mimosas at the Valentine’s brunch, because when it’s there why not take advantage of it? Besides, she had no date for the day or potential betrothed so why not get rip roaring drunk and make a fool out of herself? Only now she really wasn’t feeling good and she wasn’t sure whether it was because she had had one too many or not enough food with it.
“Woah, is the room spinning for you too?” she asked the person sat next to her as she rubbed at her temples. Sitting up straighter she took a deep breath to try and steady herself but it only partially worked. Turning her head to take the other in she forced a smile, her previous words already forgotten. “I don’t feel so good, is the room spinning for you too?”
Valentine’s Day. The day of lovers. A day that Lea, for many years, had come to dread after Tobias had died. For the first time, in a long time, the young woman had actually looked forward to Valentine’s Day, and it was all thanks to the budding relationship she had going with Matthias. However, as much as she wanted to just spend the day with him, she did have a business to run and chocolate to sell. And she expected numerous people coming through the door more so today, than any of the other days prior.
With her shop decked out for the occasion with paper hearts hanging around and pink and red streamers throughout the small store, Lea made sure everything looked its absolute best, before walking over and flipping the open sign on. The chocolate had been fully stocked and made throughout the week, for the rush she had expected, and it left her with the opportunity to dress nicer than she normally would, in case any castle runs needed to be made with the huge brunch going on just atop the hill. Or, more so for Matthias, if he happened to try and slip in without her expecting it.
With her eyes scanning the small shop one last time as she headed back to her post, Lea grabbed the cup of coffee she had sat on the counter earlier, and began sipping on it, knowing she had a long day ahead of her.
Out of all the people Matthias could have ended up sitting next to during the Valentine’s brunch it had to be the one person in this castle that he couldn’t muster any sort of love for at the time. He had honestly considered not coming to this thing, the person he really wanted to spend the day with off in the village, but he’d made the effort in the off chance that he could possibly start off a future alliance for the Netherlands. Boy, was he regretting that now. His only saving grace seemed to come in the form of the mimosas that were sat in front of them all and his intentions that day were to maybe get a little tipsy so that he could do his best to ignore the blonde sitting next to him.
Plans never turned out the way he intended though. The mimosas hadn’t really been his favorite of the drinks that the castle had provided them so he’d only drank half of the glass in front of his plate. His appetite was pretty much gone as well with his annoyance at an all time high so he’d really only eaten a few of the treats that had been prepared for them. So the fact that he was starting to feel a little tipsy anyway was a little difficult to understand but not entirely impossible with an empty stomach. “What is it with Russia and making stronger drinks than usual? Between this and the bar in the village I’d swear they were trying to keep us drunk.” A normal conversation starter for the Princess of Norway? Stranger things could have happened. He had only realized too late that her reaction would most likely be the normalized part about all of this. “Just don’t pour any wine on me for talking to you.”
The guard had a steady flow of fresh berries being popped into his mouth as he stood against the wall in the dining room to help keep an eye on the brunch that was going on. Something was off about it all, Gio noticing that these Royals were either the biggest lightweights he had ever seen or something else was going on with them all. Either way...he was highly amused. There were people spouting off a few things here and there that were concerning but at the same time he couldn’t really see the harm in a few people being wasted, and the Kovacics seemed to be fine, so why should it stop him from having a blast watching it all go down?
“I’m pretty sure that girl almost just slipped out of her chair. What are these people drinking again?” He really didn’t know who he was speaking to all he could tell was there was someone tiny next to him as his eyes roamed the room. But when his gaze landed on the Lady that had been giving him a tiny bit of grief since he’d become Madlena’s guard, not mention her other siblings, his smile only widened. “You’re not going to partake in the festivities? I would have thought you’d be the first one to the drink tray.”
Today was a day of celebration and love, but for Birdie, her one true love was back in Sweden. Thousands of miles away and having only been able to have very brief contact, Birdie was feeling rather blue about the entire situation. It’s why, for once in her life, she was going to indulge in a few drinks to celebrate her own way. However, after the fourth glass of champagne, the young princess was heavily feeling the effects of the drugs that had been laced with the liquid.
The lights twinkling a little brighter than they should and the food smelling extra delicious, Birdie consumed a little bit of everything being served, before finding herself wandering over to someone she had currently been spending more than enough time with, Ivan Romanov. With the courage of a lion, she plopped down next to him with a grin and spoke, “We should get out of here...And go...make our own fun...” She wasn’t sure what was coming out of her mouth, but she kind of liked it and the feeling it gave her taking charge.
Valentine’s Day; a day for romance, chocolates, flowers, and confessing to that special someone. Outside might be blanked in several feet of snow, but inside there are plenty of rosy cheeks to be found. While not a widely celebrated event in Russia the multicultural background of Khatanga has brought a different atmosphere to the village. Restaurants and pubs in the village have been transformed with themed decor and romantic candlelit dinners and Lea Wolf’s chocolates have been running out the doors in droves (especially up to the castle). Up at the castle, brunch has been organized for the royals to celebrate this day of love, be it with a special someone or just the friends they’ve made. But it’s not all smooth sailing… In the middle of brunch preparation, the champagne for the mimosas came crashing down, covering the floor in the precious, bubbling liquid. The staff not to be deterred and risk the disappointment of the royals quickly reached out to the villagers, asking Luna Novak to supply them with the needed drinks. All was not as it appeared though, because the accident with the champagne was no accident at all and the replacement drink was laced with an experimental rebel drug appropriately named Love Potion No. 9.
Now all the royals that partook in brunch have started acting a little strange, perhaps some would say a little loopy even...
Love Potion No. 9 was invented by the rebellion in an effort to cause those of royal status to act out in a way that would warrant the people of their monarchies to question their leadership. No one wants to place their lives in the hands of unfit rulers after all. While this is just a test, it is a good way for the rebels to see just how effective the drug will be, if at all. Some side effects that rebels would expect are:
paranoia, dizziness, hallucinations, lowered inhibitions, memory loss, exhibiting traits opposite to their own personality.
Hi everyone! So this is a little plot drop we’ve created to start some of the mischiefs that would be caused by the rebels. Those staff members who are rebels likely wouldn’t have consumed any of the “potion” but maybe one or two could have because they were being watched or offered a drink by an unsuspecting staff member or royal, in which case, another rebel could offer the antidote in the form of a fizzy tablet placed in a glass of water. Also, not all royals would have consumed the drug unless they had the beverage with alcohol in it.
In order to get some new connections established we encourage characters to be sat next to those they haven’t spoken to before, it’s a great way to kick things off after all! In-game this will last for a duration of twenty-four hours maximum for characters however it could also be that others do not have it last as long or even have adverse effects at all. Ooc starters for the plot drop can be written until February 20, after which characters can continue their threads but we ask that no new interactions are written pertaining to the plot drop. We are also asking that the plot drop event threads be prioritized above other threads and feel free to use the tag wor.no9 for any plot drop related posts.
He hadn't needed to be in the room to know something was seriously weird about the brunch the royals had attended that morning. If he didn't know any better, he'd say that some of them were acting like they'd been drugged- a ridiculous notion, with how tight security was around here, and how upright most of the future kings and queens were. But, still... things a little off.
Bastien had tried to put it out of his mind. He’d come back to the kitchen in time to get started on dinner, a touch early- he was the only cook in the kitchen for the moment, and he was taking advantage of that, listening to music and humming along as he pulled ingredients out of the fridge. He turned around, to set the food down on the counter and start prepping, and nearly jumped out of his skin when he noticed one of the princesses standing there. "God, you scared me," he said, exhaling heavily. "I'm sorry, your highness. Is there something I can help you with?"
People had started getting up from the table, so Charlotte felt pretty safe to do the same- but she wasn’t sure how long decorum dictated she’d have to stay in the room. At this point, she was pretty sure that none of the other royals would even notice her absence, considering how far gone they all seemed to be, but, just in case... she ought to stay a little longer.
She was leaning against the wall, glass of water in hand, and glanced at the young woman standing next to her. A moment of quiet observation let Charlotte know that the other girl probably wasn’t drunk, or at least not as terribly as most of the others in the room- the fact that she was steady on her feet rather than swaying in place was a bit of a giveaway. And a welcome change from what she’d dealt with so far. “It’s been a weird morning, hasn’t it?” she asked, looking first to the other woman, then at the chaos that had overtaken the room.
