OUTSIDE IN MAKES IT SO!
I’m thrilled to announce that I wrote a piece that’ll be published in the forthcoming book OUTSIDE IN MAKES IT SO - a collection of essays about Star Trek: The Next Generation.
The book comes out in late September. My essay is on a Season One episode. (No, not that one. No, not that one either. The other one. The one with the...
(Yep. That one.)

Coal Hill AV Club - Ep 73 - “Empress Of Mars”
Leapin' Lizards, it's the return of the Ice Warriors, as Stephen, Clay, and Andy define the term "Gatissy", discuss bootstrap paradoxes, the awesomeness of Alpha Centauri, and why this episode might be one of the season's best. Plus: Amanda Rae returns with TWO "This Week In Bill" segments, a Gilbert and Sullivan parody, a Kids Talk Who segment, and much much more on this episode where, like the Ice Empress, you'll find yourself surrounded by noisy males. Oh, and the first twenty minutes or so are basically us hashing out our feelings about the Monk trilogy, with help from Amanda Rae and a big ol' shout out to our friends at Head Over Feels. This one never actually made it to air, but I’ve always loved how it turned out anyway. Featuring our Morning Edition host, Bob Seay, with narration by Marilyn Rea Beyer.
For our T-Shirt Tuesday pledge drive promotion a couple years ago, based around “Great Moments In History” where historical figures all wound up wearing WGBH T-shirts, because reasons.
I wrote it, mixed it, picked the music, and played the inventor of the telephone with a bad Scottish accent. (Narrator: Don Goonan.)
I’m really proud of the way this one came out - there’s some subtle sound stuff going on here that I really like.
Part of our “News vs. Pledge” fundraising campaign. Note the intentionally bad edit about 8 seconds in - I was going for realism. :)

It’s Fun To Find Out
A weird little thing I made - the clips all come from a commercial from the 1970s for Boston’s Museum of Science.
