“Really? That is your big power play, that you can say things even if I don’t want to hear them?” Andrew rolled his eyes, “see, I can tell you I think you’re a bitch, even if you don’t want to hear it.”

Cam sighed out a breath. He really hoped he wasn’t, but it was best to be smart about it. “I don’t know if I would. I’m not trying to piss anyone off, but I really hope you don’t get hurt.” Truthfully, Cam was scared. Especially of that Nathan guy. “Yeah. I mean, I like it.” He replied, referring to Andrew’s hair. “I’m twenty-four. I’ll be twenty-five this September. Think we’ll be out of here by then?”
“Thank you, I hope I don’t get hurt too.” It was wiser not to fight, but he wasn’t sure he had that kind of self control. “Well thank you then,” he said, blushing just slightly at the confirmation that the older boy had complimented him. In another situation he would have waited no time in trying to charm this guy, but this wasn’t ordinary circumstances. “I hope so,” he said, not sure if he should mention what Maggie had told him or not.

“Okay, you have more signatures than I do, so you should probably be helping me.” He joked. “I think they just want everyone to get acquainted. So, just try introducing yourself, and try to get to know a little about them. Have you met anyone friendly yet?” He mentioned. “Ryan and Valerie signed mine. Have you met them? –Whoa. Did you feel that?” ”
“I met Valerie I believe,” Andrew said, smiling slightly at the other. “You should ask Maxwell, he’s-” the boy paused, looking curiously at Eric. What had the other guy felt that he was oblivious to? “Feel what?” he asked, confused.

“Maybe they want us to lower our guard first.” He voiced mostly to himself. Cam had of a habit of falling for people’s kindness. “Are you gonna put up a fight?” Cam didn’t see himself doing that, but Andrew looked like he might. Maybe Cam was just reading into the other’s features too much. He looked like a fighter. “Your hair is so red.” Cam mentioned as he admired the locks. “Oh, I’m the opposite. I’ve never been out in nature for this long.” He chuckled softly. “How old are you?”
“You might be right,” he didn’t want to think that the kinder owners were just being manipulative, but honestly it shouldn’t surprise him if that was the case. “I’m not sure,” he admitted. “Maybe if I think I can take them.” The comment about his hair made him smile slightly. “Is that a compliment?” he asked. “Uh, I’m nineteen. How about you?”

“Yeah.” Cameron agreed. “I wasn’t expecting that… from any of the owners.” He mentioned. “But I have a feeling we shouldn’t get comfortable.” He looked around them, as if pointing out that what he just said was obvious. They were enslaved. “I’m not ready for them to … use us.” He breathed out. “I know what you mean, I was going to reconnect with nature or whatever the fuck.” He tried to joke. What pissed him off most was that camp hadn’t been his idea.
“Yeah, me neither,” Andrew agreed, “I kinda expected them to just all be dicks.” He looked to the owners in the crowd, not sure what to think of them at this point. “Me neither,” he said again, “I don’t want to be... well, used.” He didn’t want to use a more blunt word for it, preferring to wrap what would happen to them up in the word used for now. “I’m a bit of a camping enthusiast. It’s nice to connect with nature after a busy year of school and such.”

“Oh someone’s got a temper.” Arlo smirked happily, not letting the tone of the younger male get to him, he got it, he’d be cranky too. “Tell me, what is it you’re into? Male or female?” His brow arched softly as he tried to think over whether or not he would really care for the males preference or if he would just take what he wanted.
“And someone’s a condescending prick,” Andrew countered, egged on by the man’s smirk. He didn’t want to answer the next question, not so much because it was private, but because he didn’t want to answer any question from this dude. He figured it would do more harm to refuse though, so he sighed and shrugged. “I’m into men,” he said, defeated, “what’s it to you?”

“I thought you meant that I didn’t have a problem getting signatures, because it was clear my card was filled since I was eating, my bad” she said, with a shrug, feeling a little better.
“Well that’s cleared up then,” Andrew muttered, looking at her before he looked down at his own card, then stuffed it in his pocket. “Well, I’m glad you’re enjoying your meal,” he said, sounding about as sincere as a fish claiming it enjoyed the fresh air on land.

“Have you seen any owners you like so far?” Maggie asked as she looked at the male. “Honestly there are so many attractive people here I feel like a kid in a candy store.” She chuckled although she knew that was probably not a good analogy for him. “Do you have enough signatures to eat now? You really should try the pizza if you can.”
“Some of them seem pretty alright, all things considered,” Andrew said, looking over the crowd. He didn’t comment on the attractiveness of the people here, although he was inclined to agree. Under other circumstances he would have shamelessly hit on several of the people here. “Yeah, yours was the last I needed, thank you.”

“Well, I didn’t have to get signatures, I give them” she pointed out, not knowing how to take him thinking she was a slave.
“That was kind of my point,” Andrew said, as she seemed to have misunderstood him.

“you and me both.” the brunette says commiseratingly. she’s managed to get a grand total of zero signatures thus far and she doesn’t see that number changing any time soon.
“Not how you imagined summer camp either, huh?” Andrew asks, looking at the girl. He reaches out a hand to her, “I’m Andrew.”

“Yeah, definitely.” Cam returned the smile. “Well,” he looked around, until he spotted Scarlett. “She’s very friendly and welcoming. Maxwell, too.” He casually pointed out the other Owner. “They didn’t ask for anything.” He gestured towards Luke. “He just asked to see me shirtless.” Which Cam didn’t see as a big deal. “Nice to meet you Andrew. I’m Cameron McQuewick.” He wouldn’t have given his last name if the other hadn’t. “How are you feeling… About all this?” He asked carefully.
Andrew nodded, “yeah, Maxwell has signed mine already. He seems like a nice enough guy.” He looked at the other people Cam pointed out and tried to remember them. He didn’t want to take his shirt off, but it wouldn’t be the worst thing either. “Nice to meet you, Cam. I’m feeling pretty upset, I guess. I was really excited about camp, you know.”

“You can’t actually be starving all day and I’m not cruel.” Maggie laughed as she handed him the card back over to him. “Neither did I, but the stuff you’re going to go through this summer…I won’t lie it’s going to change you and well then who knows what will happen. But you won’t get to go home I can promise you that.”
Andrew couldn’t imagine wanting to be one of the owners here, but he didn’t want to argue either, so after a moment of hesitation he shrugged. “I guess we’ll see,” he said, trying not to seem too disappointed that he wouldn’t get to go home. He didn’t think they’d let him go, but there had been a small bit of hope.

“Sadly it’s true.” Maggie hummed softly, over the last year she had tried to become meaner, she had tried to be everything Nathan was but she just wasn’t as cold hearted as the people around here. Taking her pen she delicately began to place her signature on the card. “You know, if you work with this place it can work with you too…I mean I was you last year, and now look at me.”
Andrew had not expected that to work, but there she was, signing his card and making him feel a little bit bad for his rude tone in responding. “Oh, thank you,” he said, looking at her in disbelief. “I don’t think I want to be in your shoes, to be honest. I just want to go home.”

Nimble fingers took the card from the males hands as she looked up at him. “I don’t think so.” Maggie hummed as her head tilted to the side, it was much different being on this side of the fence and she liked it. “A pretty boy like you has lots of options here….tell me why should I sign your card?”
“Because you’re a decent person?” Andrew said, as if that was obvious. He didn’t care for the way she called him pretty, or the question itself for that matter. She should sign the card because it was the decent thing to do. He was hungry, god damn it.

“That.. That’s what I thought, too, but I think I have all of my signatures down.” Cam gave the cute boy a soft smile. Earlier he felt like he could die. His body was so weak, but most of the Owners had been kind so far. One had even given him food before even getting the three signatures. “Do you want some help?” He offered, not sure how exactly he could help him, but he’d try.
Andrew looked at the other guy, “good job on that,” he offered, smiling at him. “I certainly won’t say no if you’re offering to help,” he said, “maybe you can give me some advice on who to ask? I’m Andrew by the way, Andrew Lincoln.”

“That’s not so bad.” She had seen a few people that seemed far more desperate since they hadn’t gotten a signature yet. “So what’s your name?” Val looked at the back of the card before turning it back over to sign her name on it.
Andrew nodded, “just had a few failed attempt between him and you I guess,” he said, smiling when she signed the card. “I’m Andrew,” he said, “what’s your name? And thank you for signing.”
