I just rewatched Kakashi and Obito’s kamui fight, and only now realized that Obito never used either wood style or the rinnegan. I don’t think those abilities would have guaranteed him a win, but it still makes me wonder why he didn’t use them at all. Like I remember that he needed Kakashi to punch a hole through him, but even after that, he still didn’t use any of those abilities. he really couldn't suppress his feelings completely ;((

I always interpreted it as one of Obito's main goals, even if left unspoken, was specifically for Kakashi to experience the infinite tsukuyomi.

I do think it would have taken something out of the feeling of accomplishment for him if he did it and Kakashi wasn't there to see it. He wanted to heal the hole in Kakashi's heart the most.

Until he absorbed the ten tails, Kakashi was literally the shinobi alliance's only chance of defeating Obito. Obito could have easily killed him at several times, but he chose not to.

I also think him stabbing Kakashi in the shoulder as opposed to the heart with the chakra reciever was 100% deliberate. Obito only wanted Kakashi to think he was trying to kill him.
