More RijuxLink shenanigans thanks again to @diggerdagger :) The two of them lounging around Link’s house enjoying the peace~ He wanted them in different outfits than usual so here’s Riju in a gerudo inspired shiekah outfit and Link in the Hylian armor set minus the leather armor parts~ Always fun to work on these commissions!

Probably the last of my commissions for 2017 though - work’s ramping up again and with this one taking much longer than it usually does I’m probably just going to put paid work on ice until the new year, when I should be free again for a good while.

I’ve always had certain songs that I just love and repeat for months.

I think I’ve found another one in ‘Until we Bleed’ by Kleerup. Before that was Impossible Soul by Sufjan Stevens (from Stephen Miner), The Ballad of Barry Allen by Jim’s Big Ego (found from Redbeardjim’s Tumblr), Wind by Akeboshi (apparently Naruto related), and originally Strange and Beautiful by Aqualung (Angela Ko showed me the song/artist and I’m still grateful). I feel like I’m missing one or two though.

It’s been a long while. 9/10/2016

Buying Lorde’s Pure Heroine CD on a whim during my internship was one of the best ideas I ever had. I listened to it constantly and on repeat.

Lana Del Rey’s Radio reminds me of a trip to HEB/Walmart with Mildred at A&M.

Sufjan Steven’s Carrie and Lowell was the first CD I ever preorder. The sountrack of my final year of college at A&M. Blue Bucket of Gold still reminds me of Megan Walsh and everything that went on there. Drawn to the Blood, Fourth of July, The Only Thing, John My Beloved, and No Shade in the shadow of the cross (”Fuck me, I’m falling apart”) all stand out.

400 Lux, Ribs, Buzzcut Season, Still Sane, White Teeth Teens, and A World Alone all stand out.

Thunder and Lightning by We Were Promised Jetpacks. A wonderful find from r/listentothis that I would sing and shout along in the car until it gave me a headache.

Once we Part Ways and While I Think from Xenoblade Chronicles. Just Beautiful

The Hanging Tree. Didn’t see the movie but I came across it somehow.

Jhin’s Theme and voice from League of legends. Beauty in killing. The game start humming is also beautiful. “And now, the curtain ... rises.”

Most Life is Strange songs fit here. Spanish Sahara by Foals from.( Life is Strange) destroyed me, and continues to do so. I still tear up when hearing it. Its strange, loving a song while also trying to avoid listening to it. 

Obstacles (Syd Matters), Bright Eyes (Lua), and To All of You (Syd Matters) via Life is Strange as well.

Heaven, or Whatever by (Shane Koyczan past videos on youtube) held it for a long time. While my Guitar Gently Weeps (Kubo and The Two String, which I saw with Nadya) by Regina Spektor may be taking the next spot. The Rains of Castermere [The National] by H.O.L.A.F was also a really good one.

Life is Strange

Spoilers.

I played through the game Life is Strange. I finished it March 23rd. I bought it March 12.

I believe that it has become my favorite game of all time. Above Super Smash Bros, TF2, League of Legends, etc.

It was an absolutely amazing experience. I was drawn into this world - the art, the voices, the music. Something I remember clearly at the start is saying Holy Fuck at the same time as Max as I glimpsed the Tornado in it’s full glory. Something drove me to play it with the lights off and it only enhanced the experience.

This game didn’t allow me to do as I did with all others - to take back my bad choices through save scumming. I am a notorious save scummer, and it was in a game where I could literally rewind time that all my choices mattered the most. Designing the game with an auto save was a godsend.

I couldn’t save Kate. It hit me hard. My desire to avoid the game in the face of my failure was only exceeded by my desire to see it through

The characters themselves were simply so vivid, so real. I fell in love with Chloe without realizing it until it was too late to go back. Max and I because more of a we.

Seeing Chloe in the wheelchair made me reel away in horror. Allowing her to kill herself didn't hit me as hard because I believed there’d always be a way to bring her back - little did I know what the rest of the game had in store for me.

When I got to the final choice of the game, I originally sacrificed Chloe. It made sense I though, one life for many, especially after what she said. But as the final cutscene went on, as Spanish Sahara played.. something happened. When Chloe’s casket came into view as the music crescendo-ed .. as the images of a life lost.. of everything I had done lost ... of the girl who I had fallen for being buried - I simply lost it.

 I didn’t expect to be so moved.  I found myself choking up before I began bawling my eyes out. Ugly crying, there’s no way around it. I was shaking with tears as the music played - I haven't cried like that in more than a year (after breaking down before returning to my internship and living situation in San Antonio ). I realized the weight of the choice I made, and that after all this time there was no rewinding it.

I love the game Life is Strange. The journey of the characters - Max going from nervous and shy to telling Jefferson to eat shit and die.

 I don’t know if I’ll ever find another game that moves me like Life is Strange did. I hope I do. It was so unexpected to have such an experience for a $19.99 game that I had put off buying or playing for so long until a user on smashboards pointed me towards it. I’m eternally grateful for that, Thinkaman.

17 hours of gameplay, and every one of them a joy.

The Eleventh Doctor is going to regenerate soon but he still hasn’t given River his screwdriver and she still hasn’t gone back in time and died
