She laughed and took another nacho, popping it into her mouth. “How has the music been?” Jillian asked curiously, keeping the nachos between them to share. “I’m excited to see what they’ve got lined up for the weekend.”

Charlie looked up when she heard the familiar voice, raised brow at the annoyed tone. “Nt having much fun, are you Ángel?” She teased, a smirk growing on her lips as she settled herself back against her chair. She didn’t blame him though, the younglings could be quite annoying about their weed. “Just chill and enjoy the festival.”

He’d originally planned to use the festival as a way to expand his music interests but that dream was crushed by the younger crowd and their incessant existence. ❝What brought you here, anyway?❞ He finally turned fully toward Charlie, curiosity evident on his features. ›

Not one for drug use, Finn had opted instead to take the festival as the excuse that it readily was for him to get wildly plastered. He’d been given the weekend off work, and with no one to be accountable to, he’d let himself slide smoothly into intoxication some time mid-morning. The annoyed huffing of the man seated next to him was amusing in his lubricated state. “Self-proclaimed as so ‘radically free’ and yet so obliviously needy, aren’t they?” He mused, hoping to nudge the man towards continuing his rant.

‹ ¶           The man’s appearance took a moment for the florist before he finally figured out where the familiarity originated. It was the person from the ferris wheel. Somehow, they hadn’t run into one another since. He would’ve pondered it more if he wasn’t so riled up. ❝Radically free, my pert and perfectly toned ass. They’re so wrapped up in what’s edgy and unique that they don’t realize that they’re all carbon copies of wasted potential,❞ he retorted, the grumpiness still outshining his usual pleasantry. ❝I get it; you wear flower crowns and changed your name to Star with two ‘r’s and an ‘h’ at the end because you’re always so high on life. This shit’s ridiculous.❞ ›

Pushing the little boat of nachos over to her friend, Jill couldn’t help but laugh at Angel’s generally grumpy demeanor. “All right, all right,” she conceded. “If it’ll make you feel better, I’m glad to share.”

I warn you...it’s a slippery slope,❞ he said softly, taking a step away from the taller man. As he moved, he reached back for Mikk’s hand. ❝I’ll still buy you one, beanpole. Come on.❞ A smile was thrown back at Mikk. His glasses lifted a bit on his face as he made the gesture. ›

“Y’like a walkin’ commercial for m’business,” Mikk cooed with a toothy grin. He draped a casual arm over the shorter man’s shoulders and held his other palm right above his eyes. “S’fuckin’ hot out, I want to suck on ‘em ice pops.”

Ángel looked up in the direction Mikk’s eyes to offer him a small smile, then shifted his attention back to the passersby. ❝I’d offer to buy you one but then I’ll feel obligated to get one of my own,❞ he replied, eyes squinting a bit from the ray of light raining down. ❝Also, your phrasing’s as weird as ever.❞ ›

He eyed the adolescent and young adult patrons prancing about, marijuana paraphernalia littering their petite forms. It wasn’t revolutionary or even ironic anymore, he felt. It was just another boring fad people did because it was Fairford. ❝It’s not as if our town doesn’t already have a surplus of drug dealers. Just find a local, you know?❞ Exasperatedly, he glanced over at the person beside him. ›

Jillian looked over, flowers pinned in her dark hair, then clutched her snack to her chest, pretending to be over-protective of it. “You’ll have to rip these nachos from my cold, dead hands.” She smiled wide, obviously playing, happy to share if they asked.

‹ ¶           It rained a lot in Michigan but the recent showers have been hyper-aggressive to say the least. It put a damper on the plans of many Fairford residents. Ángel didn’t think much of the poetic nature of rain. It wasn’t artistic or through provoking; instead, it meant he would have to cancel his day out on the town with Mikkel. The two had gotten rather close in a strangely queer-platonic sort of way, all hands held and soft touches while they navigated through their town. They had very different interests. Ángel liked sitting quietly at the landmarks while Mikk preferred to do more adventurous things. They tended to settle on doing something each would like to do, dragging one another along with interlocked fingers.

   ¶           ❝Looks like our little date’s cancelled,❞ Ángel mused from his position in front of the window. He released his drapes so that he would no longer have to stare at the wet storm that was brewing outside. If he glared at the poor weather any longer, his head might have exploded.

‽ - Our muses get lost together

‹ ¶           ❝I could always GPS where we are, you know?❞ Parker mused from beside Ángel as they wandered somewhere on the outskirts of Fairford. The man shushed her as he took in their surroundings. This was his hometown and despite being gone for over eleven years, he should most certainly know all the ins and outs of his home.

   ¶           His pride was being damaged by the second. They were supposed to be heading to the nearest city to enjoy some non-Fairford brand clubbing, but now they were roaming through the patch of green that separated the two residential areas. Rolling his sleeves up his forearms, he sighed. ❝I told you, I can figure this out. Give me a second.❞

   ¶           Parker chirped up with a laugh. ❝Do you know how many horror movies start off with two people of color getting lost in the woods? As fun as getting chopped up by a psycho could be, I’d love to avoid it,❞ she teased, mostly kidding. She knew that they were about as safe as they could be, especially since they were together. Not many people in Fairford had any qualms with either of them.

   ¶           ❝My ass is too sweet to end up someone’s—❞ Parker was interrupted by the male beside her pushing his hand at the top of her chest. After a pained breath escaped her, he offered her a smile of apology.

‹ ¶           They had planned a day to watch new things on Netflix and gossip, but the latter event never occurred. The two had gotten so absorbed in Orange is the New Black, a show Ángel had never seen but was fast to be obsessed with, that they forgot to do much more than their introductory catch-ups for the evening. Almost immediately after the audio had started for the first episode, they were bundled up on the couch with eyes locked on the screen. Hours of laughter and merriment ensued, though the sun was going down and Ángel had a long day before their platonic date. Now, he was losing consciousness. 

   ¶           Warmth bloomed up from his stomach as he was lulled to sleep by the increased sound of his own breathing. Grace had laughed about something on the screen beside him. Sleepily, he let out a chuckle despite not knowing even a little bit about what subject had caused it in the first place. The mirthful air left his body and he slumped over to his side, effectively placing his head on her lap. Fingers carded through his hair. It elicited a satisfied purr, then he was completely out. ›

Carter was incredibly adventurous when alcohol became involved. She did reckless things and usually ended up nowhere near her bed the morning after. She didn’t think this night with Angel would be any different, if anything it might provide more thrills than her own shenanigans. “Damn..
