Last year when I was studying shamanic healing at the Gryphons Grove School of Shamanism, our teacher Caroline Kenner taught us about using salt to cleanse our crown chakra and energy after performing healing work. “Just plop a handful of salt on your head and cover it with a washcloth when you are in the shower.” . I took that a step further by adding to the coarse salt the essential oils of frankincense for sanctifying and purifying, rosemary for protecting and purifying, and vetiver for grounding and calming, cascarilla (powdered eggshell) for purifying and protecting (Anyone notice a trend?), and a little almond oil to moisten the salt and hold it together (but not so much to leave a huge oily film in the tub). . I usually rub a small finger scoop into my scalp at the crown, another scoop down the back of my head and neck, and a third over my heart chakra.
