Rasmus Skov Borring playing “Skybrud” on the piano.
“Skybrud”
Tekst: Dy Plambeck, 2018
Musik: Marianne Søgaard, 2018
Yesterday we celebrated Queen Daisy’s 83rd birthday with princess cake from Copenhagen Pastry. It was my first time having princess cake and it was delicious.
We also had a sing-a-long of traditional Danish songs with Danish composer and pianist Rasmus Skov Borring. He also played a song called “Skybrud” (text by Dy Plambeck, 2018, melody by Marianne Søgaard, 2018), which was very touching; it was about how all of our loved ones who have passed on from this human life, are still everywhere around us.
Rasmus had said, “In Denmark, they think of fellowship in a way of growing”. We don’t have to have the same mindset or agree with the song; as long as we are open and willing to give our voice to sing, that is enough.
I love how the Danish people truly care about one another, and see every other person as an equal. There’s a lot to learn from the Danish culture. ❤️
