CLARY
“I’m sure I can arrange it, just let me wander around the park and attract another one, yeah?” Clary snorted lightly, thought just offered the man a smile. She wasn’t really planning on going around to attract another flying demon to attack her, and she hoped that he knew that. If anything, she did want to at least try and stay out of trouble. Not that that really seemed to even work though.
“Yes, boss,” She rolled her eyes at the instructions, shifting the dagger that was in her hands, still confused by the light in it and wondering how to word the questions to her mother. ‘Mom, why did this sword with runes light up when I held it?’ didn’t seem like the way to actually start a conversation without her mother probably trying to lock her up. Neither did asking her about demons and steles and whatever else the man in front of her was talking about. Then again, Jocelyn had given her the stele…
“First,” Clary chuckled out then, “I needed something to call you since you hadn’t given me your name and were so intent on me thanking you for saving me. But it’s nice to meet you, Jace Herondale. Second…” She wrinkled her nose, making a confused face, “No, I’ve never heard of Shadowhunters. What exactly are they? Or what does that even mean? I guess you mean shadows like that thing you killed? So you just… hunt those?”
‘ ——— BE MY GUEST.‘ The Nephilim replied and, this time, his amusement was undeniable. It was not like Jace expected her to try and do that ( not to mention that he would stop her ), but it did not change the fact that the pictures in his head were quite comical.
HE ROLLED HIS EYES RIGHT BACK AT HER WHEN SHE CALLED HIM BOSS. ‘ Yeah, no. Don’t do that. ‘ He had never been into nicknames, especially not those that Mundanes used to tease each other. Not that she was a Mundie. She couldn’t be, not with the way the seraph dagger was lighting up for her in this moment.
JACE SKIPPED STRAIGHT TO THE SECOND PART, NODDING HIS HEAD. In any other moment he would have laughed at her lousy description, but there were more serious matters at hand. ‘ That kind of sums it up. I’m a Shadowhunter... and so are you. ‘
IT WAS WEIRD TO SAY THAT OUT LOUD. He should have known who she was, heard of her name at the very least - just as she should have been aware of her heritage, but it seemed like she did not have a clue. Unless she fooled him, just to reveal what a terrific actress she was. That thought made him narrow his eyes for a second, but he tried to ignore it and continued to explain. ‘ That dagger would not glow in your hands if you were a Mundane. ‘
